Thank you! This was really helpful. I thought I had to mount the new base for my new camera. I didn't realize that I could just unscrew the old camera from the arm and replace the camera. You saved me a lot of time.
Hello, The Ring Camera appears to be installed upside down (Word "Ring" on bottom of camera when hanging from ceiling). That is also the way my camera was hung from ceiling, however, Live View, etc. is upside down. Is there an adjustment on camera or in app to view right side up (i.e., view normal) when camera is hanging upside down from ceiling?
That was one of the best "how-to" vids I've seen, I laughed out loud several times at your jokes - appreciate you, I'd been up there for hours trying to figure it out! (Instructions that came with it were worse than an IKEA manual).
@@CharlietheHandymanit’s ridiculous that the image can be flipped on the indoor stickup camera, but not on the indoor/outdoor camera. Maybe Ring can explain this! I have to locations where installing the camera upside down is necessary (special situation). It would be so simple in the video could be flipped. It can be that big of a problem for Ring to just wright a few lines of code.
Yes, you will have to climb up there. I haven’t got it down to a perfect number but it seems to last a while maybe a couple months. It also depends on the traffic the more it turns on the shorter the battery life. You can also buy an additional battery to extend the time. Thanks for watching!
OK, you show that the ring camera is literally upside down once you mounted it. But I can’t find where I can mount it upside down and be able to flip the video. So was that just a Oopsie because if you could mount it upside down there’s no point in having that adapter.
"That's why you're watching this video." Dead right! Thanks for a better explanation than the official Ring instructions. 🙂
WOW IT'S THE MANDALORIAN!
Not the first time I’ve heard that
😂

Yea you just flip the camera, there’s no way to change the view in the app.

Thank you! Glad I could help that’s why I’m making these videos. Maybe they will help someone out.
Can the swivel be pointed the opposite way? I couldn't push it out easily, mainly be cause I am not sure if it can be.
Thanks!
Much appreciated! Happy to just be helping people out.
He Charlie, when you install, the image is upside down how do you change in settings so image is right side up?
You have to flip the camera physically, I had the same problem. I thought I would be able to flip it in the settings. Ring doesn’t allow that.
Yep! Just discovered that myself, Now I have to get a masonry drill bit to mount it to the brick
Gotta love when a quick projects turn into a long one.

@arlenbell4376 I agree massive company probably doesn’t care
thanks so much for providing the link to purchase the mount, I think I can do this myself under the garage soffit.
Fairly simple job just need a drill and you’re good to go!
Grab a drill and ladder and get the Job done!
Very helpful. Thank you
Glad I could help. Thanks for watching!
Does Old Glory set the Ring off constantly?
No, I set it up not to sense that beauty!
How often do you charge the batteries. You need to climb up everytime for it right ?

Did you screw directly into aluminum soffit and it stays?
Yep haven’t had any problems. It’s been up since this video was posted.
@CharlietheHandyman Awesome, and thank you for the response! Just did it today!
How is swapping out the battery in that location?
Not terrible but I installed a solar panel so I don’t have to get a ladder out ever again. ruclips.net/video/GjH-53YoMjM/видео.htmlsi=7O68_vCNGTmuwEmd
Will this camera pick any movement at night?
Yes. It’s pretty good with picking up movements.
Loved the video... but that means you have to use the ladder every time u need to charge the battery
It does, one of these days I’ll run some low voltage wire out there.
Does the rain affect your lens’s
Haven’t had any problems yet.
"Only 2 Instructions, That's why you're here" Exactly
Thank you.
Happy to help!

Yep I thought maybe you could flip the video but nope. So I had to get back up there and flip it over. Good catch
Use self drilling screws
Never mind. I mounted it upright and was still able to use the mounts you showed in my video.
A pilot hole might have helped with the screws. I have the same stupid problem with screwing stuff in. My hands are shakey as hell. Lmao
Yea it makes everything just a little more fun.
Thanks so much
You’re Welcome! Thanks for watching.
I never say this but damm.. 😍
Thanks Pedro Pascal
You got it👍🏻
