1 thing I noticed is that you could drill the hole in the wall and pass the wire directly through the hole in the mounting bracket so that the wiring is hidden behind the camera.
This specific mount purposefully dumps the wire out the bottom. For you to do what you are wanting to do, you'd need to drill through and modify the mount itself. The reason they are routing the wire this way is (1) end user versatility/modularity/capability and (2) its an added strain relief for the wiring.
@@thetexan4192 incorrect… I have the same set up as this video. I bought a Ring floodlight cam pro (wired) and the separate mount with the 20 ft cord. I was able to drill a single hole on my exterior wall and place the mount directly over the hole and pass the wire through (after detaching the wire by removing the two screws and the plastic piece holding the wire affixed as in this video). I didn’t have to drill any additional holes in the mount. As you see in the video (starting at 0:44) when he removes the wire, when I went to mount it, I just fed the wire through the hole in the wall and then back through the hole in the mounting bracket and reattached it.
I think he did this because he didn’t want to drill through the wood beam which was centered. So he drilled a hole off to the side and ran the wire up. That’s what I think anyway.
If you're trying to install the Ring Floodlight cam (model # 2210C-XYZ) with a 5" base and you need a junction box for it, you'll discover that round junction boxes with 5" diameters are very difficult to find. The large majority of them are 4". I finally found one that'll fit. It's the Grainger Surface mount wiring box, 5", White (model # 14G265). But, bear in mind that Grainger has really odd hours. They close at 4 pm on weekdays, and they are closed all day Sat and Sun.
Thanks. I wish Home Depot would have told me I needed this mounting pack to convert to a plug in. Another trip back to the orange place. Any case you served me a lot of work. Big thanks.
Thanks for showing us how you install. I wanted to buy the ring flood camera plus plug in. Would I have to buy the bracket kit separately? Do the flood cameras not come with the actual plug with bracket? I was not able to find to much info on the details section before purchasing. And do you notice any difference between a plug in security device vs wired? I don't have the wired option in the area of the outside I would like to place it on.
You don’t have to get this bracket but it makes it easier and more cost effective if you are using a plug. If the plug is near by you can by a plug extension which would be cheaper than this bracket and plug
At the end, he mentioned matching the holes on the camera with the screws in the brackets. However, I don’t see any holes in the camera. Can anyone clarify which holes on the camera he is referring to? Is this an old version of a camera ?
Referring to my comment before wondering if you still need a junction box to house the wire nuts and connections. There's just no room for them I just bought two of these for my work
Whats the plug cord length that comes w Ring Floodlight CAM Plug-In ? Amazon nor my local electronics store both sell online have no mention length cord. I assumed Plug In cord Floodlight came with yours? I googled how long I recd AD buy the separate Ring Plug $19.99 20 ft length. Im replacing old light thats a plug in use the garage door openers plug It may not reach
can you move the camera without everything being powered on? I need to reposition it to go back in the box and I don't want to break anything if you can't move it without power
You're good at explaining but I disagree with your cable being on show at the exterior front of the property. A better method is to run the cable directly behind the camera. No one will be able to cut said wire or mess with your power supply.
The wire shouldn't be showing! That's why there's a large hole in the mounting ring for it to enter through from behind! You didn't need to drill a hole to the side of the mount, that's just ugly and unnecessary.
You could've fed the cable through the mount making the install centered and flush instead it looks like 💩 I hope this is your property and you weren't hired because I'd be irritated seeing that cable coming from the bottom if it didn't have to.
Ppl really need to stop making how to videos 😂😂😂😂 god this was raising my anxiety too much all you had to do was drill the hole behind the bracket so the wire isn’t exposed my god what a sloppy mess.

I think we all noticed that. Looks a lot more cleaner

Did you consider drilling the hole behind the mounting plate so that the wire isn't exposed?
It requires a different bracket this is so the wire can simply be tucked under. When you by the plug in package it comes with both options.
Thank you so much for this video. I just set up my camera thanks to you!! Appreciate you taking the time to make this video!

Thank you for taking the time making an informative video.
Thank you so much for make this video, the way you talk and teach us so clearly and easy to remember. Soon I will buy Ring Plug-in Mount for camera.👍
Thanks for the concise video and thanks for not being annoying.
Thank you for living the link for the cord ❤
Awesome video!! Just what i needed

A lot of thanks for your videos
Glad you like them!
Loved you in Bad Santa.
Very nice video dave! Keep them coming! Happy friday
Thanks! You too!
Can the wire be plugged into a surge protector using an extension cord?
Great video
How is the flood light though? Are all the features there? Is it running perfect?
Thanks 🙏 😊
Does the plug in mount work with the eufy e340 floodlight cam?
Can I do the same thing on a brick exterior? Or is it a bad idea to drill all the way through a brick to send the wire inside?
Mine floodlight come with copper white black. So doI just need to connect green with copper?
It comes with that extension cord? Or buy it separate??
Can you provide link for the wire holding clips
Will the lights stay on longer than 15 seconds?

@@ApartmentMaintenancePro Thank you!
Just have a Question. Is it name “Floodlight Cam Plug-In Plus” the one that in this video? Sorry it my first time going to buy this so. Thank you!
How much would it cost for installation?

Sold separately

Hey, I bought the plug separate for $20, I’m not sure how long the wired plug in is alone
Why the long wiring? In a garage there’s usually plugs and internal lighting all over. Was there no power accessible any closer?
That was the closest receptacle
Not in a 1950s build…I got 3 outlets in my garage …that includes the one installed just for the garage door lift
Do I have to purchase the junction box separately
The adapter with the extension cord or junction box as you call it is sold separately
4:43 I grabbed the wrong nutz. 😂
So did this camera have a ground wire? I have a copper wire and don’t know where to put it on this one.
US wiring doesn't have a seperate earth/ground wire like UK 3-core wiring does.
Does this work with concrete?? I noticed your drilling into wood.
You would need a concrete drill bit and matching screw 👍
Does it come with those pieces your hammering into inside the garage? Sorry to ask so much just ordered and want to have everything ready for tomorrow
You could have done this without having any exposed wires outside. I understand you were trying to avoid drilling through that outer truss.
Can you come mount mines
Mark Ruffalo, is that you?
Do I have to turn off the power on my garage?...
No, just dont plug it in till the end. Once wired its like plugging in a lamp, no bog deal
can you move the camera without everything being powered on? I need to reposition it to go back in the box and I don't want to break anything if you can't move it without power
Yes
You should've drilled the wire hole in the center of the mount that way the wire is hidden and not a foot below your camera
How long is it?
20 feet
No disrespect but you look like Billy Bob Thornton on bad Santa 🤣
Nice video but there WAS NO gently pushing that camera piece onto the brackets. Everything pointing up.
I don’t get it
I don’t like the idea of the exposed wire outside. It has no protection.
It’s not exposed it’s made by ring and designed for this - let me know if you find info disproving this and I’ll update 👍

Come on man you can do better. The exposed wire looks terrible.
Looks tacky
Terrible install
