This video will show you how to fix chipped paint on your porcelain tub and ways to match the color. Here is the link to there website: www.historichouseparts.com/sh...
I watched your video,But I live in Canada, Hole different suppliers,so I went to local hardware store and brought my toilet tank lid,lol sure enough they had different colours, used your trick thank you, and got a bottle slimmer stuff it cost $7.00 Turned out just fine, thanks again for Saving me a Lot of Cash !!!
I never comment on this kind of thing, but... you are a flippin' genius! I used the same product, followed your steps and it's amazing. I don't think anyone would guess the repair unless standing right over it and looking for it. Thanks so much for the tips.
I got this same damage on my tub just yesterday night, and I took a piece of a sample that fell off, so I’m going to take it to stores and try to match it up with the colors.
You will not believe this, but I have the exact same chip in the exact same tub. The former owners had painted it with a horrible color so I was looking how to repair it and get a better match. Thank you!
Thank you for the product recommendations! I am unsure if I should only re-fill cracks/chips or if I should also re-enamel my tub. My tub has a handful of chips on the ground layer as well as paint chipping away from the tile walls. Can you suggest whether to only fix the chips or add on coats of enamel to smooth everything out?
I used the one that came from a big box, it matched for a few years but integrity is good. I also did the DIY recoating from a big box. Worked great and time consuming but held, do not throw out the material and call the company for advice. Another time I paid a person $300 to recoat a tub and it looks great and is like new, allowed me to raise the rent a bit. Thanks for the video.
I am getting ready to fix a few dings on an antique clawfoot tub. Can you please explaine any prep work prior to applying product? Also, how long of dry time between coats? Thanks bunches...pj
Just got out my white old-school porcelain Christmas tree for the season and chipped it :( this might be the ticket. Sounds weird to use toilet and tub filler for that, but hey whatever works!
@Flippin Genius lol i drop sink on top of the tub at it had big chiop multiple place i was like what am i going to do now thanks for video god will bless u with 20 kids bro :)
Can you provide a link to the website of the company where you purchased this product? I didn’t see it in your description or in any of the comments. Thanks, Tim @ Cliffside Acres
Ok watched the video and followed the directions, but how did you go from the 4 digit number color code to the one letter 2 numeric digit color code on the web site? All the color codes on the web site you listed are formatted as: A12 and your color code you pulled from the toilet is formatted as: 1234. I searched the internet and find no translation between the two?
How cold is your house that you need to put on 3 more coats? You must be sweating. LOL. Just kidding. Excellent video. Good job and thanks for the information.
It would help if you illuminated the place more brightly and keep your camera in focus to appreciate the job better. All we can see is that the dark spot was covered.
I do resurfacing tubs and nothing works to fix the porcelain cuz remember the porcelain is baked under 400 fs. how can we pretend disappear the cheap whith out the same process many customers the always expect to look like new tub so I recommend paint again whith a right technics and professional or easy replace for a new tub Lol.
this is why you shouldn't buy flipped houses! seriously, pay a pro, get a warranty. literally less than 200 to fix all that and it would be invisible and hold up for years. every flipped house has shortcuts like this that you will inherit and have to pay to correct not long after you move in! My daughter bought one from a self proclaimed genius realtor and had to spend over 3k in first 6 months in repairs, including gutting a newly tiled shower (was a normal bath converted to walk in) and they did no prep and it allowed water into walls and her closet (adjacent) was covered in black mold! we had to do so much work to fix that as they didn't use a membrane, literally, they used nothing behind the tile to stop water from getting in! so yeah, its a sugar coated turd! looks good so you take a lick and yum, sweet! take a bite and you got a mouth full of poop! his own words at the end are its "good enough" and you negotiate at the end if they notice it. man, really? i cannot abide this attitude. NEVER BUY A NEWLY FLIPPED HOUSE! ask him to pay for a warranty for first year and guarantee everything for at least that long, in writing and save yourselves the headaches. totally disingenuous- and he sounds proud of his work! if thats what is front and center what do you think is behind the walls where we cannot see? his own words he says it, it is not me projecting.
Just shut up . You keep making the same stupid post. How many times do I have to block your sorry little butt. Not everybody has the money nor do they need to go and refinish an entire tub and pay the $800 for that kind of work it's unnecessary and a waste of money. only stupid people would do that for a little chip. I'm a journeyman painter as well, San Francisco Union, so I'm pretty sure I know what the fuck I'm doing. quit your bitching and get a girlfriend or boyfriend or whichever preference you prefer I really don't give a shit. Just shut up, I'm trying to help people that's it. And by the way all my homes do you have home warranties when I sell them. Now fuck off.
It happens. I didn't post this, but they may have a color chart for you to use. I would also go to home depot or Sherwin Williams and get some color charts to compare with. good luck and please subscribe . have a great day! :)

Hey thank you for the historic house reference! Getting ready to redo a clawfoot tub and there is a chip with rust in it, found what I needed there. 👌

Impressive. Great information, thanks.
You saved me! I put in a new tub for our bathroom remodel, chipped it twice today!
You will not believe this, but I have the exact same chip in the exact same tub. The former owners had painted it with a horrible color so I was looking how to repair it and get a better match. Thank you!
Thanks for this and the link, we ordered ours today and love supporting a small business. Hopefully we got the brand right and that the color matches!

This product worked well for me. 👏 Good video. Thanks.
Thanks, Impressive, Excellent video.
Good info for colour matching. Thanks.

How do you keep it from taking the finish off the tub
Just got out my white old-school porcelain Christmas tree for the season and chipped it :( this might be the ticket. Sounds weird to use toilet and tub filler for that, but hey whatever works!
Haven't tried it yet, but the video got me where I need to go. I am assuming it will work on a porcelain sink as well. Will let ya know. Thanks, FG..
Thank you! Can I use this on the bottom of my tub, where water will pool and feet will be rubbing against it?
@Flippin Genius lol i drop sink on top of the tub at it had big chiop multiple place i was like what am i going to do now thanks for video god will bless u with 20 kids bro :)
Great Job
Looks nice!
Looks nice!!!!
Does this product exist in morroco and how or where can i guet it. tanks
How has it held up? One concern is when cleaning the tub. It comes in contact strong cleaners and harsh brushes.
treat it s you normally would. its tough paint... just remember, as with all painting good prepwork is the key!
Great video! Thank you. I assume it doesn’t dry glossy, would you or anyone know how i could get it back to glossy? My poor brand new tub 😞
I saw on another video they recommended using rustoleum. Appliance spray which is glossy
This is a metal tub with a porcelain/enamel coating right? Sorry I don't know anything about bathtubs so probably not a smart question lol
What white did u use
I believe yours is BZ-3 Biscuit. And the brand of your tub is BOOTZ if I’m not mistaken
How about can we use Super Glue Porcelain Chip Fix?
How do you tell if tub is fiberglass or porcelain?
What color did you use?
How do you match the color and tone?
How long did it last?
Nice Job
What color porc-a-fix did you use? You had your thumb over the color code. Thanks.
Is it still hold up?
What did you use to buff it afterwards? I ordered this stuff and am about to use it, looking for any tips I can get
multiple light coats. fine sand paper . think of it like painting car.
How did it work? What does the repair look like now?
How are porcelain/fiberglass chip repairs done?
If you buffed it that would have made it shine or how do you get the shine like the rest of the tub? Is there an additional coating you can put on?
If you only have to put robincompoun and buff or if you can sand with 1500 sandpaper or finer you will have a mirror-like shine

Thanks for the tip. I added the link in the description field. Here it is as well www.historichouseparts.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=9910

sorry about that. it's not my website. Apparently they have changed some of their coloring codes. contact them would be best.
Sheffield is a good brand. Under $10 at Walmart and also on Amazon.
Thanks Zee Bee for your comment. as long as you can find a matching color that's ok too!
Website link is no longer available

Like nothing happened. Thank you for sharing
Good job where to buy those? Thanks
Walmart
My sink is almond, where do I find this color?
amboss1234 look at their colours
In the future...the name was on the bottom right of the tub...facing the toilet
What is the product name ?
Porc a Fix
so is this a permanent solution? Will iron underneath still get rusty ?
I really don't know if this would be a terminate solution or not. But it works for my particular situation. 😀
Surface prep?
yup
Toilet looks to be whiter than the tub. 😊
it does, dosen't it, but its not.
I used it on my basin, very runny, but ok fix ok, needed two coats, about £17 uk
Either you didn't mix it up enough, or they have a different formulation in the UK, or you used a different product, because it's not "really runny."
Hi, what color did you use?
Hi MKeeda. For this tube I used BR-1 White which is a briggs pluming color
Use painter’s tape around it.
Will this work on sinks
yes. as long as you have a porcelain finish.
It would help if you illuminated the place more brightly and keep your camera in focus to appreciate the job better. All we can see is that the dark spot was covered.
I spent $6.88 at home hardware
what color? I need almond color
