Chipped Bathtub Repair: Easy “Anyone Can Do It” Method

DIY Bathtub Repair. Is bathtub repair easy? YES! It is! In this video I demonstrate porcelain repair on a chip in my bathtub. Just the other day someone was asking me how to fix a porcelain chip and I thought about my own bathtub. I have been wanting to do this bathtub repair for some time now. I recently gave my spare bathroom a mini-makeover and all that was left to do was to repair the chip in my bathtub. This video was the perfect opportunity to fix that chip in the bathtub and complete the make-over!
The porcelain chip repair kit that I used was the Sheffield porcelain touch up. This product is available in several colors. I used the White. This company also makes a filler product but I did not use it. The porcelain touch-up from Sheffield worked very good for me. I used two applications of the paint, waiting 12 hours between coats. In the video I tried to get some close ups both before and after to really show how it looks. As with any painting project, surface preparation is the most important step.

Great effort.. but I’m a bit of a perfectionist, colour difference would drive me nuts. You need some filler in those holes. But if your not fussy, it’s the way to go.

I've just noticed a "rough" place on my toilet rim that has caught some toilet paper a couple of times. I have'nt put the flashlight on it yet but it just feels like a rough spot where the porcelain has come off. Your easy instructions and product

That would not be allowed in my tub or my customers but it's sealed and protected. Not bad if you're ok with it.
