    Thank you so much for your videos. I just started reglazing tubs a couple months ago and started suuuuper green. All of your videos have helped me so much. Use the same gun as you, do alot of realllllly bad condition tubs and make them look beautiful. Guy hired me on without experience and trained me right, but for some reason I'm a natural with the gun, even regrouting and respraying tile surrounds are going really well for me. I honestly don't think think I could have done my first couple weeks without these videos though to be honest. You are the person that actually encouraged me to give it a try and I have not regretted it!

    Getting ready to remodel a 1972 bathroom. Steel tub and glazed tile are in great shape but Harvest Gold has got to go. I’ve been reluctant to refinish but this video is encouraging. Your reply’s to all the comments are great too. I have two questions:
    1. If you refinish a tub bone white but a different color for the tile, which would you do first?
    2. If the tile is to be replaced, do you recommend replacing the tile before refinishing the tub?
    Bonus question:
    Would it be less than $1,000 to refinish both tub and tile? There are no chips or scratches in either.
    PS: just subscribed so I’ll be looking for your other videos.

    • @DPTubs
      @DPTubs  3 года назад +1

      1. I would refinish bony first but make sure you Oreo both first : cleaning and acid washing. Then I would dry and mask off the tub and spray the tile. I would come back 48 hours later and then tape off the tub using blue masking tape on the tile. Make sure your coats are thick enough to prevent the tape from peeling coating.
      2. Always replace AND reinstall before Reglazing, including grouting too.

    Does that acid etch work on grout too?

    • @DPTubs
      @DPTubs  2 года назад +1

      It will definitely help clean it but I would only use it on grout if you are etching the tile as well. Then you still need to rinse the acid very well and scrub clean after with scotch bright pad or sand paper.

    Hi again! I do this work for a lot of apartment complexes as well as residential homes. I have been looking for a good solution to a refinished bathtub’s arch nemesis, (Suction cup mat). I found a product at Home Depot called “anti-slip floor finish additive” and was curious to know if you have tried it. It just adds to the paint according to the instructions. As always, thanks for the great content.

    the only part i wanted to see is the part he skipped passed lol. i guess its a paint thats used seeing as he had to sand the tub so the paint can stick. i never knew what 'glazing' meant. i thought it was a high pressure clean that brought the condition of the tile and/or tub back to its roots but i guess its just a paint job. i wonder how long that paint sticks/stays before peoples nails start to scratch it all.
