NIIICE!!! A “10” rating from 1-10. Great how to video. Very detailed and nothing left to chance. The finished product looked like it was a newly purchased/installed bathtub. Excellent. 👍🏽
I appreciate that!
@@DPTubs why didn't you sand after the acid wash?
Mesmerizing transformation! That is a lot of work, but such a dramatic difference.
I had to come back and comment here because this video saved me. I spent a long first day super discouraged. Followed this exactly and it helped me remove the finish straight away. Wanted to help anyone else possibly doing the same. I'm so glad I didn't convince myself I couldn't do this. 🥲
If you're refinishing your own tub, do yourself a favor and get a paint sprayer. It can be done with the roller but it's challenging.
Also, consider that this might take you at least a couple days. I spent a whole long weekend doing this.
Thanks for posting this and helping me, OP!!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
Great video. I transformed a claw foot tub. The key is the Jasco. There was only one can on the shelf - I got 90% done with that can in a hour. The next day it took 2 cans of goof off, 5 hours additional hours and much more elbow grease to finish the remaining 10% - man I wish there would have been a 2nd can of Jasco available. I would say the 2nd most important key is plenty of fresh scraper blades - they get dull pretty quickly - I went through about 10 of them, remember to flip them over and use both sides. Once I was like 98% done I used an electric sander with 80 grit and that got all the little remaining stuff fast and easy.
Thanks again, without this video the not for tubs warning on the Jasco would have scared me away from it.
We
What an amazing transformation thank you for sharing it's way better looking than what it was.
Congratulations on the work! Very professional, neat, and satisfying.
great job!!!! sanding and cleaning are all. these dirty works you must follow. its the most time consuming part. nice step by step video
What a transformation! Awesome!
Yeah I like the white better than the Almond color!
Thank you for allowing me to watch you as you work and explain in details. Great job. I enjoyed the video. The music was A +
What a good Job, looks like new 👏 ❤ love it
Nice work! Super clean.
Wow!! love your instructions. Looks fabulous and hope I get the same result.
Definitely loving the series!
Thanks man...I have some fun video ideas coming up.
thank you so much for including the equipment you used!
After starting wrong kinda wrong I decided to watch videos (seems like 30 of them). This (and your other tub-strip vid) is the absolute BEST right down to the Jasco because my research says it's best but the product says not on tubs - Thanks for your input there, now I will usue it. Unfortunately, it's an RV tub and I grinded it down to (nevermind) before I learned just to sand. Thanks so much! I still might need to hire someone but I'll have that experience of knowledge in advance, if I do. Thanks again
This was so cool to see . I was stuck on the screen in amaze. I dont know why but this was really satisfying to watch something ugly turn so beautiful. Thanks for sharing awesome job Danny.
Omg I couldn't of said it better! That's exactly what I was feeling
Thank you for showing how to glaze a bath tub step by step!
Enjoyed watching this!
Love this video. Amaze job Danny.
It’s nice to see someone take pride in their work!
Wow, to see it step by step I know the questions to ask my contractor to verify he will be thorough. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Nice work Danny
Beautiful job!
WOW! Beautiful Job 👍🏽🇨🇦
Looks great 👍🏻💜
Do the cleaning products affect the grout or metal like the drain for example ? To prorect and maintain the shine of the new coating, what cleaning products are best to use on it and what not to use at all?
Do you use a tac cloth to prevent dust particles from getting in the finish?
Great video 📹 very informative 👏 needed lighting 💡
Awesome work
What a great job 👏👏 and great video! Thanks!
Thanks for watching Elisha
Looks really good
You did a wonderful job start to finish! Would you be able to tell me where I can locate the napco ltd piranha etch and cleaner combo?
Great video. Thank You!!
Hi. great video. how do you scrape the four inside corners in the tub? they're too concave for blade. Thanks.
Looks lovely, I just ordered the Jaso Paint and Epoxy remover. I can't find NAPCO Ltd Pirhana Etch and cleaner combo? any other suggestions to acid wash and dull the surface?
Great detailed Video
I like the spray better! I've used from Napco the brush on gel type stripper and they tell you to make "x's' on the paint with a utility knife before applying. So messy and I'm looking forward to trying your way next strip
Looks great
Amazing! Totally love your work. I am planning on painting my kid's tub, its an old ugly green, can this remover do the job?
Great videos! I was wondering if I use Jasco on my tub could I not reglaze with it if I liked the original tub.
Thx
Boss quick question. Do you use a primer before go to epoxy and spray the tub?
hello is there a specific spray gun to use when putting down the glaze?
Will the sanding and spraying the stuff on work if I just want to remove the cheap paint the old sellers painted our tub with? They put some sort of smooth coating on in some areas but abrasive paint in others. I just want to recover the tub underneath, that's all, no repainting.
Hi can you tell me what product you use to glaze and what setup as far as tools go when spraying
Can I use just the spray can of Krylon Tub and Tile - I don't have a machine... I also know that there is one with a wider spray top but I cant find that so I just got regular can.
good video. hope you can help me with a question? had tub resurfaced a couple years ago. i used an ardex silicone caulk and within a couple month turned yellow. have been putting the project off because i am scared to remove the caulk, not knowing how careful i have to be to not mess up the resurfaced tub? they gave instructions on cleaning it and a list of approved cleaners. i know i can't use a caulk remover on it because that stuff is harsh, any ideas? thanks.
Great video! How many paint coats you applied? How much time in between coats? Can a roller be used instead? Pros and Cons? Thanks
Well Sir.. how many and how long in between. There's no responses to these questions in comment
Great job
My bath tub is one of those kits and when i first moved in i sprayed it with rustoleim paint to cover scuffed spots it doesn’t allow my shower mats to stick. Do you have a video or instructions on reglazing those bathroom kit bathtubs
Does removing reglazing from a steel bathtub damage it so it has to be reglazed again or can you just leave it off?
is there any way to remove "drips" off of a previously reglazed tub without reglazing the entire tub?
If paint remover gets on grout will it ruin it? I have a tub sink and wall to do. The wall is old tile with the grout
I'm gonna be doing this so thank you
What cleaning supplies and brusg would you recommend to prevent this from happening again??
Just beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I will be looking forward to your next video until then I am keeping you and your's in my thoughts and prayers please stay safe, take care and God bless!
Thanks to your step by step video, I feel so confident with fixing our bathtub now! Thank you!
Previous tenant also painted over the white subway bathroom wall tiles. How do you suggest I strip the paint without damaging the tile glaze? Thanks 🙏🏼
The same way
Nice job I can see your a pro hope I can even get close
Hey Danny, we had our tub sprayed and noticed the mist travelled into various parts of our bedroom. There is a white mist on our laminate now. We tried everything including paint thinners to remove it but no luck. Can you recommend something to clean up this mist on the floor? Thanks so much!
This is my recommendation: I would use lacquer thinner. It’s different than paint thinner. Try a spot with lacquer thinner and maybe a blue non scratch pad from the cleaning aisle at Home Depot and test a small area. If it’s on glass or a hard surface I would carefully use a single edge blade to scrape it off carefully. Do not use lacquer thinner or blade on wood flooring or cabinets. Always try a small area first. Also, have you contacted the person who did it?
Great Job
Great video! What kind of primer and epoxy paint did you use, for someone that has a paintgun? Also how long did you wait between coats?
I wait 10 minutes between first and second. 12 minutes between second and third
Wow amazing work
Thank you!
one of the best jobs I've seen, congratulations, one question: what type of primer do you use?
Very nice job
Can you use an orbital sander? What paper woukd you recvomend?
How to find the scrapper you used? Did you do just one coat of spray,
I have some scratches on my new tub after remodeling.
How can I get them off?
Thank you 😊
Love your Videos! Can you tell me what size tip you are using with your gun (Capsrpay HVLP Maxum II)? Is it the stock tip that comes with the gun?
Yes a #3
Well done
great work ! what do you use to reetch the non slip etching to the floor of the tub
If the customer wants they have an option for a non skid coating application. I use shark grip
Hello. How long does it take to dry?
Wow this is great- I am a complete Novice and want to fix my kids Tub. It looks like I may have to rent a few tools like that glaze spray or can I just paint it on ?
hi
did you use any primer?
also that paint hart to find is there any other paint we can buy from home depot or lowes?
Yes you can but make sure you get enough! I would make sure you have at least 24 ounces of material for good coverage of the bathtub. Hime Depot has Homax which is pretty good if you make sure to spray 3-4 coats and acid wash a metal tub or primer a fiberglass first.
is there a liquid you can use to paint on instead of spray on?
What exactly brand and type of paint you using, please let me know I'm just waiting to mine but I'm not sure what kind of paint I need
what type of paint you use to paint the tub?i have a tub that seems have been painted before should apply something before the paint or is ok to just use the paint?i just dont know what type of paint to you
Krylon Tub and Tile...however..follow the steps I show in the video and strip off the old coating first.
Dang!!!
This is a lot of work
Great video! I have two questions. There is a terrible coat of the rustoleum tub two part refinish on a fiberglass tub and surround. Will the Jasco spray work on this? And or what would you recommend. The existing location is still slightly soft.
I recommend 120 grit sand paper with and orbital sander to remove and loose areas and feather edges. Patch with bondo where needed and then spray a primer coat.
Thx, I think you talk abt recommended primer but would you mind refreshing my memory. Also, are you still using the krylon kit?
I am using the Resurface Solutions. Krylon is great but they have limited supply and is not always available. It can yellow a bit over time I have noticed when used with hot water within a week after application.
That’s cool
What paint to use for bath tubs
When he says re-glaze, does he mean it will be as if it were a new tub like the porcelain feeling in stead of the ruff paint feeling. When you re-glaze will it peel ?
Thank you, DP. It is a professional job. Question, When do you remove the protective tape from the drain hall? After completely dry, or right after spraying finished? And how?
I donut right after but you could also remove it after it dries to be safe not to touch anything when wet. Poke a hole in the middle and then peel off from the center out.
@@DPTubs So you do remove it right after ?? or you wait until it is dry??
Hello DP, I am wondering what product you sprayed as the finish. Thx.
We have a lot of rust around the drain. I can chip little pieces out. Is there anyway to fix that issue or is the tub gone? I was told by a realtor that it would just need refinishing. This looks like it might be more involved or is it no big deal? Thanks
You can fix it
Hey DP, what filter are you using in the half-mask your wearing? Do you ever use an assisted air machine when spraying or just the 3M filter mask? Thanks for putting out these great videos!
Cory Dinell I have an 8” diameter fume extractor and hose that I use. I will show a video of it. Helps with overspray, VOCs, and primer dry times / moisture
Would the process be the same if the material that is chipping off of the tub is not thin like in the video but alot thicker? You can tell the reglaze was done properly the first time but I'm just wondering if your process would change at all!
I would test an area, maybe a corner with the Jasco and let it sit for about 10-12 minutes. Sand it with 60 grit first and then apply the Jasco in that spot. If it bubbles and is easy to come off then strip the whole tub.
If it does not come off easy I would sand the whole tub down with 120 grit, patch fill the chips with bondo and then sand smooth, primer coat the entire tub, and then spray 2-3 coats of the top coat.
Thought i could DIY this until i saw the paint sprayer LOL I’ll hire someone
Where do you get the etch from and would you be able to help me getting my gun set properly to spray tubs
Yes I have a video on how to spray! I get the etch from Napco Ltd!
Awesome job!!!
What kind of primer brand do you use on fiberglass tubs. Thank you.
Professional grade I use Resurface Solutions Euro Epoxy.
Wow!!
How long does the spray coat normally last before they would have to get it re-sprayed again?
Great question. The longevity of the coating will generally average 3-5 years quite often longer. It mainly depends on the care and maintenance of the resident. I can spray 5 tubs on the same block and come back two years later and i can almost guarantee they will be somewhat different based off the care of the home.
Your video gave me the confidence to attempt to diy it. Thanks for these gems. Shit I'd hire you to come do it.... chances you live in central FL are slim. I'll have to get my supplies tomorrow
Do it! Let me know if you have any questions!
How come the jasco can says not to use it on tubs?? Curious
Which HVLP do you use make a review
so what primer and paint are you using ??
How can I patch a crack in a tub with a textured bottom and keep the textured look and feel over the patch?
How much do you charge for the stripping of paint? Then how much for the whole job?
Do you have advice if the bathtub was like a plastic material I don't know what you would call it. And has had a hole developed in the bottom of the tub it's been fiberglassed but now the fiberglass has come off? Can't afford a new one.
Yes I have a couple videos on fiberglass crack repairs just search “fiberglass repair DP tubs”
Looks amazing, what's the model of the sprayer that you're using if you don't mind me asking?
Capspray Maxim II and Titan 75 Compressor
Great videos and I'm trying to refinish my tub. Do you have a video where you don't not use a spray device? Something with a roller maybe?
I have the same question
@@dennisjenkins4987 I don’t show a roller because I would never use one. Messy, inconsistent finish, IMO! There are definitely some DIYers who would use it and that’s totally fine because the spray gun could get pricey. You could use a spray can Homax and they have an attachment that will allow you to spray the can like a gun.
Check out my latest video as yiu could see me use it when I spray the primer around the perimeter of the tub.
You doing your thing, great video! How long does this last after finished?
With proper care 5 years plus.
Is there a top coat to use to make it so shiny
