      How does microcomputer differ from epoxy? Easier? Easier to clean after? Less messy? Stronger? I'm in the beginning stages of remodeling and one tub is in good shape but I would rather have it look white rather than beige. That's why I ask

Question then... if it's a tub/ shower one piece, would you start at the top of the wall and let it run down first I assume..?

No additional top coat needed my friend. Only if this were in an area that received a lot of direct light, such as an outdoor tub, would we then recommend utilizing a darker color. I think the industry standard of urethane is still Superior as it could be put on thinner and has a tighter Bond and better smoother look. This epoxy looks pretty lumpy in the video as a finished product. The urethane is actually cheaper for raw material cost as well if you don't include equipment but then again you could also just pour the urethane but that would look sort of like this video so why would you? Besides a new tub is only $200. If you were going to go up scale you would tear out a tub entirely and put a walk-in shower. There is also the issue of the bottom of the tub being super slick and all of the epoxy being easy to scratch.

    • @adolfoescorcia2051
      @adolfoescorcia2051 Год назад +1

      After being a professional refinisher for over a decade, I can honestly say that urethane is absolutely not a superior product. It's too thin so it ends up not being able to hold up to a much thicker pour on type of epoxy like this. Also all of those bumps you're seeing in the front is the shape of the tub. Pretty much all Porcelain tubs have a bunch of ridges all over the place because it's Porcelain enameled.

      @daniel buckner We must be seeing different videos because it looks like the epoxy took the shape on the outside as they tend to have those ridges in most Porcelain tubs I've ever seen/done. Also, the whole 200$ a tub argument goes out the door for the average consumer considering most people do not have the skill or tools to be ripping out their old tubs and replacing them, so hiring someone generally costs 1,500.00 minimum not including any plumbing, ect.
