This process works great for laminate cabinets that warp at the bottom. I've had great success using this exact technique, except for the paint, I did have to use a roller to give it a pro finish.

Thanks for the video. I was debating whether or not to replace my chipped sink or just repair it. This video was enough confirmation that my plan of using appliance epoxy (rather than tub and tile) would work because the "tub and tile" paint is actually more expensive than buying a new sink. The appliance paint is MUCH cheaper. I have used appliance epoxy on counter tops and it works really well, but I never tried it on a sink. I used JB Weld to fill in the holes and cracks and I just sanded it down. Hopefully it holds up and there are no chemical reactions with cleaners that will cause the paint to chip.

So glad someone has done this already. A friend gave me the sink from his great grandparent's home and it has a couple of shallow chips in the back splash where the faucet & handles come through. Thank you for the vid. I had almost the exact same issue as yourself with a cast iron sink being shipped to me damaged. After filling, sanding, and spray painting, the only issue I've run into is cleaning. I've been cleaning the sink and the spray paint is chipping away from the edges of the areas where I've sprayed. So now I have this line where you can see the original white coating of the sink and then the spray painted area that I can wear away more and more with each time I clean. Any advice? It hasn't been installed yet. I was thinking of sanding further along the sink and then spray painting further out so the entire top edge is covered with paint, but I don't know if that's ideal seeing as my original problem area is identical to yours: only the corner was damaged.

    • @nycgraphist

Maybe after spraying the epoxy and it drying you need to go back and apply a few layers of a sealer/fixative so the epoxy paint doesn't chip away
