  • BULLET HOLE TUB REPAIR. Received a call from one of my tenants that her house was shot up multiple times. Thankfully, no one was hurt. Several holes in the siding, window and one went through the siding into the bathtub. In this video, I will show you how I repaired this bathtub. First, I started by pounding the bullet hole back into place. Then, I sanded down the area with 80 grit with my drill. I then applied 2 coats of fiberglass reinforced bondo, sanded and applied 1 coat of regular bondo. Finally, I waited 24 hours sanded again and painted with a tub and tile paint. End result tub was repaired and the tenant was happy.

How is this repair doing now? I have a metal tub with a big dent in it, not a bullet hole but the divot is a bit bigger than a silver dollar. This video is the only one that showed anything that might work on my tub. The work looked well done to me. Just wondering how it has held up.

I have not been back to this rental. The tenant is one of my best. When I get back in the unit I will do a follow up video good or bad. Sorry this isn’t more helpful.

What kind of man would bust a cap on an innocent bath tub?

worst paint to use leaves lots of orange peel behind & feels really ruff after dried.

M Sancho Thanks for the input. This was my first time using the spray can paint for tubs. This seemed like my best option instead of replacing the tub. I will do a follow up video if this repair fails.

Jackie Anderson I don’t actually live at the property. It’s a rental. I haven’t heard any complaints from the tenant. I’m assuming it’s still holding up.

Time will tell. I will do a follow up video if this repair fails. This seemed like the best option short of replacing the tub.

well with not properly acid etching or any adhesive promoter that paint has nothing to stick.

@@diehardfan173no matter he didn't properly prep the area he painted, car products, no etching or sanding, no primer, therefore he has an adherence issue from the get go... Total fail
