What a wonderful woman and principal she is. I believe educators are some of the most amazing people out there, especially in an environment like this.
it’s one of the first things i noticed, it’s a damn shame. but it’s okay, at least now i can sleep with a peace of mind that these kids have a future and aren’t at risk as they were before.
The principal should be awarded for what she has done. She is someone who CARES about getting kids to get a good education and not grow up to be drug dealers. God bless the principal and students.
Its been 19 years since I was in H.S. America, thank you, for sending these kids the supplies and funding they needed. May God also continue to bless this school and the facticity.
@@feunhe Good for you, now please, you could've not wasted 20 seconds of your life by not writing a reply back on an internet website. But instead you did. Anyway have a good day
Hi! My name is uncle Sam! I just spent 14 billion dollars on an aircraft carrier I don't need, while my country has crumbling infrastructure, and schools like this! America is amazing! God bless.
How is Manson High faring now 2 years later? I hope the momentum continues. I am very moved by those children and the principal, and the viewers who donated money and their hearts.
it shows you the power of privilege. as soon as this school got the funding and all the necessary supplies, students began doing better. Congrats to all those students, teachers, and the principal.
Great story! I have to admit it choked me up. Some great kids there and everywhere like it. It is such an impressionable age, I hope and pray this school and many others like it are able to instill love and hope in their students. Help for these kind of schools is what our damn Presidential candidates should be talking and debating about instead of ISIS, military budgets and other such nonsense. The money we spent on the Iraq war could have supported aid and scholarships for every one of these schools in the nation for many years!
I have grown up my whole life in this one upscale Rochester, NY suburb. Now, the HUUUUUGGGGGEEEEE suburban school district I grew up in was a very high ranked district. Graduation rate was in the 90s, I'd say safety and education were pretty good there, too. But from what I have heard about the Rochester City School District, they could use a principal like this lady. The graduation rate from Rochester City Schools was less than 50 percent last I knew.
We see first hand how the education system works... Schools get money from taxes, poor neighborhoods poor school, art and elective cut backs, and you practically have a better chance of getting a PH.D in prison then you do in a system that is designed for you to fail. There is no need for any child to live in poverty or not have a substantial education.
Actually, if you really checked the numbers, education only gets 3% of the federal money. Some of the ones who get the most here in the U.S. Are the prisons.
education system? the education system is not the problem, its the students. How did you miss that? This is a school, not a daycare for teenagers. Unless you wanna pay your own money as tax then they can improve it.
I really wonder why this school has little funding? Maybe because their mostly white counterparts are getting more money. It's not only the school but, there r is little hope. The neighborhood poverty and crime rate is high. God bless that principle that is giving them their ticket out.
+Marcelle Brooks How schools get funding is by two parts: state funding and taxes from the people in that neighborhood. This neighborhood is one of the poorest neighborhoods in Philadelphia meaning less funding went into the school. State money only goes so far.
I posted on the video for the first special a few hours ago about how I couldn't stop crying for these kids but WOW now I'm crying even more but for a much different reason. I really want every single one of those kids to succeed and I'm glad this school took a huge step in the right direction
The most important thing you can give kids is an OUTLET. It brings me so much joy to know that these kids can now escape their problems for a little while doing activities they love like cheer and sports. Bless that principal and every other educator that has worked tirelessly to provide for this generation.
This story is heart wrenching! God bless the wonderful citizens who donated money to these students! Bless the colleges that offered scholarships... What a story
ClinicalSnicker Me Too! God Bless Her!! Imagine she was a Police Officer & quit to become their Principal & within a year turned the School around! Had Drake, a Winning Football Team who became undefeated in not just 1 Year but their FIRST YEAR EVER they never had Football before & sooo Happy the Girl not only didn’t have to pay the £550 deposit for College but Her entire scholarship there for Free! I wonder how they all are now 6yrs later
Man Dunbar Middle had a fight two days, every week. We had a riot and a pregnant girl got punched in her stomach, someone brought a gun twice, and then instances of knives, one a butterfly. Only 900 students, shit was crazy
For 62 years they didn't have a football team and look now they have one!! For anyone that has never heard in believeing this is a perfect video from tragic to the best place ever!!
As a white man, it was my black teachers in my 80s grade schools that were there for me when I needed them most. Even with my prejudice family, I saw that they actually cared. Ms. Hicks, Ms. Hurt, Mr. Moffett, wherever you are, thank you.
I see a lot of love, pride and hope.. amazing what an outpouring of encouragement, value and resources can manifest...Success. “There but for the grace of God, go I.”
See never lose hope this school was determined and look a better outcome!! I love this principle I live in the 3rd worst city in US which you can google that on your own but I'm not suprised this school was gonna make it!!
The one everyone had hopes for...Razzaq... Of course people went looking to see how he did, like I did. HE came back to Philly... Hopefully, he just hit a bump in the road, after HS. He's still young. That face, though! It' not like we hoped for. Dang it...But there's time... XOXO...
Beautiful. The principal should be proud of herself, what an angel.
They were reading lord of the flies

What a wonderful woman and principal she is. I believe educators are some of the most amazing people out there, especially in an environment like this.
It's funny how the original video titled "The Most Dangerous School In America" has over 5 million views and then this one has not even 100 thousand.
People just like watching school fights.
Brent Titus People love a good train wreck story. Positivity isn't entertaining to people anymore. Smh
it’s one of the first things i noticed, it’s a damn shame. but it’s okay, at least now i can sleep with a peace of mind that these kids have a future and aren’t at risk as they were before.

BARACK_OBAMA_THO Obama!!! Get back to work!
I am feeling sympathy for the high school students who used to go there and still go there, but this school is developing a brilliant future.
White People, Thank You

There needs to be more school principals like Wayman; more principals that actually care about the students and not just their paychecks.
Hi! My name is uncle Sam! I just spent 14 billion dollars on an aircraft carrier I don't need, while my country has crumbling infrastructure, and schools like this! America is amazing! God bless.
NeovisionX you need that aircraft carrier
NeovisionX you know that WE pay for that? Not “Uncle Sam” or the government.
"Don't underestimate the power of hope."
Wow .. the principle has one big heart .. this brought me to tears ... I live in a quite town, you would never hear of this stuff

I'm watching this in 2019 and am in tears of joy! What a headteacher she's awesome! Xxxx
Touching story! This principal never gave up, she's what everyone should be like. So sweet even in tough times.

Exactly. It's wasy to just write ppl off but when you give these kids hope and opportunities like everyone else they can do phenomenal things

This should be happening more often. This is just beautiful.
The feels
They should do lunch time in groups not the entire school at once
Who Knows? It might be because of the time they try to provide for education for each student.
