      You're right. She is a hero. I hate it when Athletes or entertainers are called heros, especially when a woman like this is saving lives, giving kids a future, giving kids hope. She deserves 20 million a year, not some basketball player, I'm willing to bet if someone did give her 20 million she'd keep practically nothing for herself. She's a real hero.

      I respectfully disagree. She is a shining light that loves and encourages those children. Everyone deserves to feel loved and wanted. She encourages the kids to make something of themselves. She emerged from the ashes; so now she uses her success for good and inspires them to follow suit. Those kids sadly may not come into contact with anyone else that believes in them and has their best interest at heart. Every race, creed, gender, and socioeconomic class deserves and has the potential to be and do anything they want to. It all starts with knowledge and education. This amazing woman is planting a seed and nurturing that after so many others failed then.

I’m from philly and people will try and jump and beat you everyday for no reason especially if they think you’re an easy target. This principal is a hero. I have been a public school teacher for 20 years, and I can personally say schools are becoming more and more dangerous. The teacher shortage is making each year harder. The country is going to have to go to shorter school weeks and school years. We don't have the teachers, subs, or principals.

  • @asmrpakupaku2941

    The root of this problem is the parents/guardians. How can you expect them to care if their own family dont. these so called “parents” should give more attention and care for these kids. like how are these parents ready to protest but didnt give a flying fudge to attend parent/teacher conference!?! the reason the majority of these act this waybis becuase they dont have the love and support for the people they want to recieve from. And these teachers or staff need to let these kids know that not only education is key but they are loved from many especially to the kids who makes the most rukus . its heartbreaking seeing this really.

    Parents and school are the problem with most schools. When parents and the school lost the ability to correct the children thats when they stop caring for the children. If a parent is beating a child, then yes its not right. But a spanking or 2 on the behind, children behave more and respect more.

      It’s easy to be judgmental when you are on the outside looking in. When you have a community that lacks basic resources and that society has turned it’s back on, poverty becomes debilitating. Poverty increases the tendency for people to commit crime-it fuels frustration. The issues in the film are not race related, and they have little to do with upbringing.

    I live outside Phila in Broomall. I dropped off gifts for Xmas at a phila school gym at night a couple years ago (the boys and girls club had a Xmas bball game). I took my daughter (who was 8 at the time). She was scared walking through the doors bc of the bars and very intimidating appearance. She asked me why their school looked so scary. I felt terrible bc this is what the kids are surrounded by, a jail like school. You r a product of ur environment. Phila wasted MILLIONS on stupid lights that go up & down broad st. The is the money, but it's not used properly. These kids r surrounded by ugly neighborhoods and if anything, school should be their getaway from a possible crappy home life. These kids have issues that need to be dealt with b4 u expect them to do school work. We have the money to fix poverty in American and give these kids a chance at a future. Everyone deserves the same chance. The amount of money the average American spends on Xmas decorations for 1 year could potentially fix poverty. Of course there r people who don't want to be fixed. The issue is most of those in charge want to keep people under water. We need people like Elon Musk to start a revolution of good people with money, in powerful positions that can make serious changes for the better.

    This is .B.S. If you can't do better than this shut down your school system. What do you expect out of kids. You can't learn in this environment. Ridiculous! Utterly Ridiculous! If you think I don't know what I'm talking about I worked in the projects with 360 gang and high risk kids and have been shot at and had a 12 year old try to slit my throat with a razor. Get the trouble makers out and work with what you've got left if it's just 5 out of a 100. This way everybody's in risk.

      If you didn't notice, the air date of this episode is May of 2013. Obama was president.
      As a substitute myself, I am happy to inform anyone how much better the education is starting to become because of the new administration. I am happy about that considering I am currently enrolled back in college at age 38 to become a History/Government/Geography teacher. Hope that helps :)

    What they need is a martial arts class in judo on a daily basis this installs discipline respect for others plus they learn a skill to protect themselves and less likely to carry a gun or knife. Wearing a school uniform is always a good thing only if the other schools do it as well should be state policy. But introduce martial arts and your have better behaved children. You have to blame the state for not funding housing better, look at the state of these places where these kids are being brought up. Kids shouldn't be stressed at that age and this is the problem they are stressed worried so the parents so that makes a kid even more stressed out. More parks in these areas better after school activities Sports, and not isolating kids to these schools they should be introduced to other schools out of the area. Diversity is the spice of Life guttering people is only going to make the problem worse. Free lunches if they are on a low income free travel to school on back should be introduced if it.isn't. what do the local authority County spend these taxes on??? Clearly the government are not giving enough money to local authorities I'm assuming. Does this school or schools like them have a counsellor nurse? The pupils need somebody to talk to confidentially, a lot of kids are bullied themselves who commits bullying maybe at home or even sexual abuse so a friendly ear somebody who is trained is a must. Take the kids on more trips as well reward them for their behaviour and grades at the beginning of summer holidays, a kid gets isolated because of their behaviour soon realises that they need to change the attitude no kid wants to be isolated, it can be as simple as giving them an ice cream or some sweets for behaving properly. I bet these schools don't take these kids on holiday's? a educational holiday Abroad preferably some of the time. I'm sure the local community would help with funding some of these activities if they were aware of them. You need some carrot not just stick, the stick works only for a short time and doesn't help in the long term when the pupil becoming adolescence. Clearly I can see that music room isn't really utilised or used at all shame! This is very important music is a great unifier when people get together learn how to sing play instruments together. Bring the local community into the schools by holding fates and sports days.

      Lol, where do you expect funding for foreign field trips to come from? The parents who can’t be bothered to show up for 10mins for a conference? Why do you think the gov is responsible for providing everything?

    • @johnsweda2999
      @johnsweda2999 5 лет назад

      Kathy Savage but really the local authority should fund it if the parents can't afford it, or you could raise money the school can from the local community to send pupils on day trips or week holidays. Why should the kids be punished for bad a Society or being poor. Shows them another life out there and it will inspire them to achieve and be better when they reach adulthood. that's why!

    They need better and MORE teachers and staff. they need to be trained for crisis intervention. Learning can’t happen if they don’t have behavior under control. Students also need some incentives to keep them motivated and to reward their efforts. I honestly don’t think it would be so bad if they closed down the school. Maybe the students could be bussed to other schools. The principal seems nice and helpful but she can’t do it alone.
