Even though our vice principal made an announcement saying it was alright and suspect had been taken care of, parents still came to pick the kids up. At the end of the day it was just me and a few other students that hadn't been picked up by their parents. My mom didn't know anything about the threat because she was in the hospital at the time.
The fact that we need to build schools...places that are meant to be a sanctuary of learning and growth...has to be built as high tech prisons ....is disgusting. It's disgusting we live in a world of fear. In a world of perpetrators wanting to hurt innocence. A world where kids are abused at home and use school as a playground of aggression. This world. ....it's a disgrace.
Best defense I have as a high school teacher is access to my fire extinguishers. If that gets in a shooters eyes he’ll be blind. Scary times we live in.
Requiring key fobs to enter classrooms would accomplish the same results with much less trauma to children. Be the change you wish to see in the world. -Gandhi ✌️
This is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. The Sheriff's Department is "only 10 miles away"? If it's so safe, then let's have the NFL implement that kind of security and see how long the players last.
I can already see some design flaws. First they forgot to bubble wrap the sharp corners on that chalkboard. Second those kids are standing too quickly without helmets on. All major protocol violations.
Buk Choi definitely OSHA violations oh and the students forgot to put the target t-shirts on it's awesome how they all huddled together so once the shooter gets through that door they make it nice and easy to mow them all down the shooter doesn't even have to aim meanwhile the teacher could just throw her a little panic button at the shooter that'll stop em maybe they could just threaten the shooter with detention most Shooters will stop when you point out that murder is illegal and they're not legally allowed to have that firearm in school but if they hurry up and get out of there you won't say anything usually when they find out it's illegal to have a firearm in school and that murder is illegal most Shooters will leave voluntarily

In my school if there is a real shooter if we are on the first floor we will go out the fire escape window instead of sitting there for target practice
Plot twist: this security system costs 500,000
That's quite cheap for a government built facility, maybe $5 million
Imagine trying to juul ...

When your school has better security than a small bank
Our children are more valuable than whatever money a small bank deals with in a day.
Or you know don't sell guns to kids in the first place...
A ton of kids take their parents guns
@@samuelelias3989 maybe just don’t sell guns at all in the first place…
@@saintshrooms9424 Then myanmar happens
Well there is nothing that stops everything, but not doing anything stops nothing. Kudos to this school that they are trying to keep kids safe.
All I see is waste of money, I’m all for safety but this is WAY to over the top
BOOK PLEASE PROTECT ME 😂😂😭😭
now put those cameras to better use and save the people getting bullied from commiting suicide maybe?
It costs $400,000 to have a safe school... For 12 seconds.
This brought tears to My eyes no kid should have to go through this
Last time someone told me "well be safe here" those were the last words he ever said to me
Please elaborate.
K
??????? I was obviously joking bro
we’ll*
Look at all those money that could've used to help other impoverished school.
wtf they hold books in front of their faces... as if that's going to help someone who has a gun??
Andrew Actually a thick book can definitely help
tetris? more like tectris maybe if they shoot up the school with a low caliber gun but that doesn’t happen
It’s sad it has come to that like people should be able to go to school and not have to worry about getting shot.
Detective Taylor Swift I don’t worry bout getting shot
Meanwhile 18 children died yesterday, make this more accessible to schools nationwide
wow, the things America will do to avoid the gun issue. Sad to see kids have to do these drills at school. Traumatizing.
It's sad they do drills like this like it's a fire drill
If you need all of this security, the school is obviously not safe.
This school isn’t safe. The kids are living in fear.
Every school should have these things. Every single one.
Wow it's ridiculus that something like this is needed in the U.S.
Glad I don't live there.
They don’t need this, it’s fear mongering lmao
This does not make it any safer
NEXT IDEA: give all the students guns
They jiggle doors thinking “ oh they can’t get in” but’s it like if someone REALLY wanted to shoot a school up they would blast the door open if they really wanted to inflict harm
We have lived in a Germany for 3 years and I’m telling you I am terrified to move back to the US.
Then stay in Germany
There is absoulutley no excuse that a single school doesent have this system
Ummm yeah there is 😅 it’s way too much money
We shouldnt have to have these drills.
We shouldn’t have to worry about our kids safety but that’s the world we’re in
But we do. Sometimes the world is not perfect or comfortable.
@@Gideon_84 Out of all the countries in the western world, THIS IS ONLY NEEDED IN THE US. Kids are more or less completely safe from this insane gun shootings everywhere else. Change your gun laws.
Someone invent bulletproof skin plz
That would be really cool!
Bulletproof you are such a genius man
This is something most people would call, "OVER REACTING"
What if they replaced the smoke bombs with flashbangs or grenades
they need to do this in every school across this country in America
Nah, they'd rather send 40 billion to Ukraine.
@@donnie1581 I know
They don't care about our country
Unless their hands are in pockets to line there pockets
Was it just me or did i hear 400 thousand dollars
what is the name of the school
cuz i kinda want to learn there
Southwestern high school , in Shelbyville
Ugh, I am disgusted at how many security measures we have to put up just to keep people safe. I remember one time my school got a shooter threat and I was so scared. Even though our vice principal made an announcement saying it was alright and suspect had been taken care of, parents still came to pick the kids up. At the end of the day it was just me and a few other students that hadn't been picked up by their parents. My mom didn't know anything about the threat because she was in the hospital at the time.
I wonder how many schools have wanted that
This school world isn't really that scary to me.
This is what we need instead of giving teachers guns
Those hot zones are that good cause the shooter can just spray through the smoke and will probably hit someone
The fact that we need to build schools...places that are meant to be a sanctuary of learning and growth...has to be built as high tech prisons
....is disgusting.
It's disgusting we live in a world of fear.
In a world of perpetrators wanting to hurt innocence.
A world where kids are abused at home and use school as a playground of aggression.
This world. ....it's a disgrace.
It is what it is. I wish for a world of unicorns, rainbows, and ponies. But you have to wake up at some point and work with the world you've got.
@@robfreeman5783 I'm definitely not implying wearing rose tinted glasses.
@@robfreeman5783 School shootings have basically become a part of American culture at this point.
Best defense I have as a high school teacher is access to my fire extinguishers. If that gets in a shooters eyes he’ll be blind. Scary times we live in.
OMG USA WAKE UP
1:59 "In this scary NEW world."
Me : School shootings in the U.S. have been going on since the 1850's
*OH YEAH? CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.*
Can't yall have Metal doors or something like it's easy to get and safe
imagine a teacher leaning against their desk, and then they accidentally press the panic button lmao
Requiring key fobs to enter classrooms would accomplish the same results with much less trauma to children. Be the change you wish to see in the world. -Gandhi ✌️
what about during recess when everyone is outside?
It’s a middle school , not elementary
ok, what do they do during break time?
juki0h tuki we don’t got break time , our only break time is lunch
that sux
juki0h tuki Recess? ?? Haven't heard that name in years
Or, give a kid a hug.
Just as affective.
You folks are gone.
???
The fact that any school needs this is sad and ridiculous and says a lot about us as a country.
The lengths USA will do to not actually get rid of the problem but act like they care is crazy
my school is about a 30 second sprint from the police office and they call the police on kids having breakdowns
So sad how schools have to have such high security measures. It’s good that the school is trying to keep kids safe, but we should have more laws in place so that crazy madmen can’t have guns.
My teacher said we can throw her computer at an intruder, but we gotta take out the SD card first🤣🤣
The fact that we even have to do this is ridiculous. But since this is how low we’ve fallen, sadly every school now needs this.
