There’s a video about all the details you missed watching John Wick, can’t tell ya by who but it’s definitely worth a watch. For example(and I’m paraphrasing here): Viggo introducing John Wick to his son. He’s waiting at the bar with a couple of vodkas. He gets up into the boy’s personal space making him nervous before offering the drink. They clink glasses but Viggo doesn’t drink, signifying that he doesn’t celebrate what his son did. When he punched the boy in the gut it forced the vodka back up, burning him twice, before making the boy clean up the mess like some janitor. Viggo then pours himself another drink, ignoring the original, and choosing a more expensive vintage this time. So yeah, lots of interesting stuff in these movies.
The John Wick house is out here on Long Island in a very exclusive town called Mill Neck. (At the end of Horseshoe Road by the water.) -- The runway John practices on is at Republic Airport in Farmingdale, NY..
the one movie where the reason of the movie was immediately established. no frills. When I saw this in the theaters, i think the whole theater collectively screamed at the screen.
6:51 he's someone you most certainly don't wanna mess with, everything Viggo said about him is true and you can hear the seriousness in his voice, that's how you know that John Wick is someone you should truly fear,he's an ex marine and a trained assassin which explains how dangerous he really is, his experience with firearms and sharp weapons further elevates his already insane hand to hand combat prowess and further solidifies him as a very very well trained assassin and ex marine
Some of the stunt men/crew from the Matrix made these movies, Keanu agreed to make it with them. That's why the fighting and stunts are amazing in this it was made by stuntmen.
The fact that they had couple of actors from The Wire (my absolute all time favourite show) warms my heart. Also, if you want something similiar (thats not just John Wick 2/3) I'd suggest Equalizer (from 2014 iirc). Really solid standalone action movie. And I'm hoping for a "Do revenge" reaction too, I feel like you'd LOVE it.
Another detail, Viggo was drinking green juice in the beginning and was trying to be healthy. Then the events occur and he stops being healthy and just full on starts smoking cigs, blunts, and of course drinking
I really love you complimenting the cinematography and explaining/commenting about why you think certain shots are good. Many reactors only focus on the story and maybe the acting.
I love watching John Wick reactions and I've seen Angelina's name suggested numerous times, I just hadn't given her a chance before. I made it about 8 minutes. But it made me curious and I figured out how to copy and paste the closed captioning and, after a quick edit, I was able to figure out that she said over 580 words during the first 4 minutes of the actual movie reaction alone.
It's quite funny that every reactor I look at for standard reactions, there's a few that talks like this. With fluctuating tones in the voice, weird inflections that don't need to be there in the first place, as if you're about to make a voice impression of a cartoon character. Proceeds to talk like that and say a whole bunch of nonsense to make it seem funnier (btw it doesn't). To me personally, it tells me this reaction is fake. I would never talk like that. While watching a movie. Even as a reactor (but I'm not. But if i were, I wouldn't do any of it). Especially when the reveals and twist are soooo good you don't want it ruined by the next sets of frames said reactor is talking like Zim from Invader Zim. Or Sylvester from Looney Tunes. There are reactors that do okay. A few that are great. This. Is. Pure. Cartoonish and fake. Just like the reactor. Cartoonish. And fake. Don't forget about fake. Just my personal opinion here. But I'm guessing you and your supporters don't think of it that way. But it is. My personal opinion. Much love and respect
One of the things that made John Wick work so well is that it broke away from the fight scene mould that Hollywood has been stuck in since The Bourne movies. While the scenes aren't perfect, John Wick incorporates wide shots, they aren't cutting the cameras every 1.5 seconds, and most importantly (at least in my opinion) the shots are steady.
I ignored this in the theater and only watched it late night for the first time on HBO while drunk--and I was blown away. It's straight up a GOAT action movie
such a great movie! thanks for your awesome reaction. The camera work, craftsmanship and choreography for all these fight scenes is just incredible! John Wick singlehandedly changed the formula for action movies.(there may be a few others, but this one was big). Instead of crazy jump cuts and total chaos to a point where you as the viewer don't have any clue what's going on anymore to clean shots that live off perfectly trained choreography of highly skilled stunt people and ofc. Keanu Reeves. It also matches the clean cut precision you'd expect from a super scary professional assassin we too recently had to say goodbye to a fluffy friend so yeah while the collateral is huge at least that stupid dude deserved his punishment.
@@luxurybuzz3681 True but what i think OP means is that John Wick showed that you can have a movie with great action and still make bank. The sequels made even MORE money as well. All while still having amazing action to boot!
Jardani Jovonovich was born in Belarus. He became a Ruska Roma orphan under the tutelage of The Director and brought to North America. Jovonovich later adopted the name "Jonathan Wick," or "John Wick" for short as the anglicized form of his birth name. He was an orphan, and was taken in by the Tarasov Russian Mafia where he was raised as an assassin. He was so ruthless that the mafia boss Viggo Tarasov respected and feared him. Peace out.

You were asking what gun that was when Vigo's father gave up his location? That's a Kel-Tec KSG. It's a bullpup (The chamber & moving bits are behind the trigger, in the stock. Makes the gun shorter without reducing the barrel length.) that has two tube magazines under the barrel that hold seven 12 gauge shells each. There's a switch to select which magazine to feed from. I have a KS-7, which is the same gun, but with only one magazine.
Since you liked Christian Bale Batmans, would you please, please, please do a reaction to Equilibrium (2002)? He is really badass in this dystopian sci-fi, and only a few channels have reacted to it, which is a shame cause it's a really underrated little gem.
The most hilarious thing to me about Winston and a few others calling John Jonathan is that John is its own name. It's not short for anything. The shortnened form of Jonathan is Jon. So people calling him Jonathan and making it sound more formal are not actually calling him by his real name.
Some people are called Johnathan too..so John would be appropriate shortening for that ...but even so, what isn't explained until part 3 is that John is not his true name either...
I love it when you get hype about a story and ramble on, youre literally the cutest thing since daisy. Also the last scene shot that you loved was also the one where his wife collapsed at the beginning
"John" or "Jonathan" is the Americanization of his original Belarusian name Jardani. It's like a friend of mine who's named Tadashi but goes by "Todd" with non-Japanese/non-Japanese-American friends and associates.
The problem with other action movies isn't thay the heroes don't kill, plenty of movies have killing. The problem is that the Hero is untouchable. But in the John Wick franchise they establish that he's the best but he still gets injured and stuffm granted he was retired a bit. Another fun fact is the the 3 movies take place I believe within 4 weeks and he kills around 300 people
He also played Al Swearengen on the HBO series Deadwood. There is an excellent scene that has Al Swearengen and Wu discussing a dope theft while Wu only knowing one English word. Worth your time to watch.
One of my favourite little details in this movie tells you a lot about the main villain. He makes his son drink expensive vodka, which is highly alcoholic, then punches him in the gut to make him throw it back up. He does it cos alcohol burns going down, but also burns coming up again. He used an expensive alcohol cos it's especially painful when it comes back up, just to hurt him more and teach him a lesson. Also, there is another film that mentions underground body cleaners. Pulp Fiction.
The scene at the end when you said the bridge in the background was beautiful… That’s a call back to the beginning of the movie when his wife collapsed.
I am telling you one very effective way to grow your channel exponentially. Just keep your f**king voice down while watching any movie and stop explaining the scenes, we are not idiots. It just ruins the whole emotions related to any scene.
Marcus (the role of DaFoe) didn't take the job to shoot John, but to watch his back. He knew others would take the job. In the sniper scene, you can see him intentionally shooting the pillow next to John's head to wake John up.
The cinematography and use of color in this movie is so amazing in its subtlety. The scenes with his wife alive are in warm tones, then it goes to cold washed out blues until Daisy comes into his life. Then after her death, back into washed out blues again, with the colors becoming more solid as he goes through his revenge arc.

He is truly someone who commits everything to a role and ensures he fully lives up to it.
Keanu did not realize it, but the role was made for him, someone who zagged where Keanu zigged. Both are the same person with different experiences and circumstances but at their core, they are men of focus, commitment, and willpower all aimed at whatever their objective is. Men who loved so wholly and completely that the world seemed to have gone mad when they lost the one they loved.
the Doctor stitching him up, was also the key-maker in the Matrix.. so this movie also was a reunion for them...
Something I like about this movie is that John doesn't let Iosef talk when he kills him. A lot of movies let characters monologue during the final battle but John just shoots him in the head mid sentence
And no "cool/funny" phrase before he shoots. Just pulls the trigger, job done, and walks away.
Shows how little John thought of Iosef there, like taking out the trash or swatting an insect.
Or putting down a rabid dog.
Congratulations on 125000 subscribers! 👍🎂
The music, colors, and little things throughout this movie is amazing. You caught on quickly regarding the lighting and the sound.
The video ended abruptly while giving your opinion on the movie but its great to see you enjoyed it and your commentary enhanced the experience 👌
Yeah weird cut in the end.
She clearly drank 14 gallons of coffee before this with how little she's paying attention, are you really surprised that this ditz doesn't know how to edit?
“John will come for you, and you will do nothing because you can do *nothing.”*
Kinda sad that people don't realize the pitbull's chart was marked "PUT DOWN", so he rescued the dog.
Fun fact: Iosef (the guy who killed John's dog) felt bad and often played with Daisy when he was off-set.
The policeman's reaction is so good. A mixture of respect and "Please don't kill me"
The fact that they had couple of actors from The Wire (my absolute all time favourite show) warms my heart.
Also, if you want something similiar (thats not just John Wick 2/3) I'd suggest Equalizer (from 2014 iirc). Really solid standalone action movie.
And I'm hoping for a "Do revenge" reaction too, I feel like you'd LOVE it.
i love the editing btw! moving your face cam around to cover up the worse carnage is such a creative move :D
hope vander's doing good too
Fun fact, the pitbull was dog they got from shelter an actually adopted
The pit bull was Keanu's own dog. The beagle was adopted by the actor who 'killed' her in the movie, he felt so bad about it.
I couldn't keep watching she got something to say every single second...
I dont think you understand what a reaction video is. Go watch the movie yourself if you want silence.
Another detail, Viggo was drinking green juice in the beginning and was trying to be healthy. Then the events occur and he stops being healthy and just full on starts smoking cigs, blunts, and of course drinking
I love how the final shot of John walking his new dog is in the same place his wife first collapsed, and their moving in opposite directions
The framing of the shots, the lighting, the subtitles, it is just like a graphic novel cone to life.
Fun Fact: The actor who killed that puppy felt terrible he's been playing with it for hours behind the scenes
Yes you should do the other two! It's totally worth it
Her “I didn’t expect such a dark intro”. Me “you have no idea ma’am”
I really love you complimenting the cinematography and explaining/commenting about why you think certain shots are good. Many reactors only focus on the story and maybe the acting.
Another movie I'd suggest reacting to if you haven't seen it already is the Martian. I think you'd really like it.
Same. I made it 13 minutes and change according to the watch line on the video... but I was watching at 2x speed.
😂 it’s not your personal opinion. It’s a damn fact.
This woman is crazier than Me.....
What a good ad placement ! Right when the dog got whacked the ad start with a big fade from black to "Square Enix". Lol
I guess Dean Winters didn't have allstate in this movie cause he wasn't protected from mayhem
I love Dean Winters, he was great in Oz.
If he'd not picked up a gun and fired it at him, John might have let him live. He doesn't normally kill non-combatants.
It also matches the clean cut precision you'd expect from a super scary professional assassin
we too recently had to say goodbye to a fluffy friend so yeah while the collateral is huge at least that stupid dude deserved his punishment.
Hong Kong movies have already done clean camerawork with high level stunt work
@@luxurybuzz3681 True but what i think OP means is that John Wick showed that you can have a movie with great action and still make bank.
Peace out.
This is my favorite movie series of all time.
I aspire to act in and direct a film like this.😍
The last shot is also where his wife collapsed in the beginning
11:07 _"...and did I hear that right, his actual name is Jonathan?"_
Aside from the rare exception, every *John* is a *_Jonathan._*
*Edit:* Also, Ian McShane (the guy whose voice you recognized from Kung Fu Panda¹), was in Game of Thrones. He was the man that was helping the Hound after Arya left him for dead. And if you ever saw American Gods, he was Odin. Oh, and he was also in Deadwood.
··•●✺●•··
¹ ─ super impressive, btw! 😏
I guess it depends on where you live. Where I live, we have plenty of John's and Jonathan's - but we don't call Jonathan's John.
He's also Blackbeard in the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and he's by far the best part of that movie.
@@alextrill5829 For certain! LOL. 😄
I considered making note of his appearance in an episode of *_Space: 1999_* back in the 70's. 🤭
Hey, you never know what will resonate with someone, _right?_ 🤷🏼♂️
😏
Ian McShane will always be “Lovejoy” to me 😊
I'll always see him as Wednesday
You were asking what gun that was when Vigo's father gave up his location? That's a Kel-Tec KSG. It's a bullpup (The chamber & moving bits are behind the trigger, in the stock. Makes the gun shorter without reducing the barrel length.) that has two tube magazines under the barrel that hold seven 12 gauge shells each. There's a switch to select which magazine to feed from. I have a KS-7, which is the same gun, but with only one magazine.
no way she wont stop talking lmao
The one guard that gave him a fight in the club is the director of the film, also that same guy was Keanu's stunt double in the Matrix films.
Tbh the last person I’d ever watch a movie with
bro she talks so fucking much it's crazy
Not only is Willem Dafoe insanely talented, but he's also from the same city I live in!
Since you liked Christian Bale Batmans, would you please, please, please do a reaction to Equilibrium (2002)? He is really badass in this dystopian sci-fi, and only a few channels have reacted to it, which is a shame cause it's a really underrated little gem.
the pit that john takes at the end was only hours away from being put down so he saved him! cuties!!
Please watch STAR TREK! 🖖
23:59 LMAO, that Abrupt cut in the end
The most hilarious thing to me about Winston and a few others calling John Jonathan is that John is its own name. It's not short for anything. The shortnened form of Jonathan is Jon. So people calling him Jonathan and making it sound more formal are not actually calling him by his real name.
Some people are called Johnathan too..so John would be appropriate shortening for that ...but even so, what isn't explained until part 3 is that John is not his true name either...
Honestly the "John Wick's weakness is incoming cars" line was so funny! What a great observation. 🤣
omg my ear with this talking
The saddest part is when you realize from the blood trail that Daisy crawled to him before she died
Love ur content ange I have been ur subscriber since you started originals since then it's been an absolute delight to watch your content love u
I love it when you get hype about a story and ramble on, youre literally the cutest thing since daisy. Also the last scene shot that you loved was also the one where his wife collapsed at the beginning
there is a limit to overacting
BTW The dog he took with him at the end had a sign that said "To be put down" on the cage, so John saved the dog's life.
Eh, I don't watch reactions for everything. Probably don't need to sub.
_First time watching John Wick_
...damnit. *click*
"John" or "Jonathan" is the Americanization of his original Belarusian name Jardani. It's like a friend of mine who's named Tadashi but goes by "Todd" with non-Japanese/non-Japanese-American friends and associates.
is there a time when shes serious? shes making jokes about the most serious stuff... :/
She just want people subscribe her channel... Talk all the time...
The problem with other action movies isn't thay the heroes don't kill, plenty of movies have killing. The problem is that the Hero is untouchable. But in the John Wick franchise they establish that he's the best but he still gets injured and stuffm granted he was retired a bit. Another fun fact is the the 3 movies take place I believe within 4 weeks and he kills around 300 people
If you weren't talking so much you could follow the movie better...
Ian McShane also played Blackbeard in Pirates of the Caribbean 4. That's about the only other thing I know him from
He also played Al Swearengen on the HBO series Deadwood. There is an excellent scene that has Al Swearengen and Wu discussing a dope theft while Wu only knowing one English word. Worth your time to watch.
Geez pay attention to the movie girl! You talk too much
One of my favourite little details in this movie tells you a lot about the main villain.
I thought we were all supposed to watch a movie together...impossible as you have talked over every second of the film. Wow...take...moving on.
Geez! I don't know anyone who can talk that much, at such an annoying pitch
Jesus Christ. React...- stop stating the obvious and being annoying
I don't know how many times I've seen this movie, and just noticed he had a book press in his basement
You had more dialogues in this reaction than the actual movie clips played.. maybe tone it down a bit? Just a thought.. Maybe do a movie review later and talk all you want.. just don't take everyone through every detail of everything you see on screen. Remember, they've already watched the movie
I made it 8 minutes. Stopped. Copied the CC file of just the first 4 minutes after the movie started. Removed movie dialog from the CC.
She averaged speaking over 140 words per minute.
@@No1Knows Why does it feel like this wasn't actually her 'first time watching' this, considering she had detailed explanations and precise understanding of what's happening or about to happen? 😆
@@corporatekhanna I honestly only made it 8 minutes into the video, so I didn't experience that. Once the action picked up I realized that she wasn't just talking because "plot setups are boring."
@@No1Knows I wonder how she was at school 😆.. explaining & analysing to the teacher all the details of the chapter she was reading 'for the first time' 😆
@@No1Knows I would love to see her reaction to Interstellar or Shawshank Redemption 😁
I always loved the direction they chose in the scene where John kills the son. Instead of trying to have some clever final dialogue between the two, John doesn’t even let him finish his sentence.
u gotta stop pausing da movie
I was kinda surprised that you covered a smurdery movie like this. It's a great movie with the pacing and the insight to the professional assassin world. Also, your outro was surprisingly unexpected and
You talk to much
23:19
Angelina, John was actually saving that dog he stole because If you look closely on their cage it says "To be put down" and yeah John did steal the dog, but he gave it a longer life.
I like your reactions but you talk over critical points in the movie too much. Comment at critical scenes pausing the video.
Perkins, you’re on my list, made me chuckle, and I’m grateful 😆
These reactions have become so artificial now a days. Too much talking. Too much !
watching you watch the build up of the John Wick mythos is the best. It was my favorite parts, like the sequel to a movie I never saw and don't need to see. They build up his legend so well. I love it. John Wick made action movies good again. Long takes and wide shots because Keanu is doing all the stunts, lets you really feel the action. I'm not a gun guy but people I know say there is a lot of random nuance that only gun nuts would know. The details in this movie are great.
You're talking too much
Shut up
That's not nice Mr smiles
You can shut up too Mr smiles
😭I'm sorry
Wick is the antagonist. An assassin. A murderer. The ultimate bad guy. And we love him. Root for him to kill more. Great movie.
