To answer your question at the end of the video, I think it depends on what's inside the 99 is what matters if a deck holds up in commander games in 2024. For example, I have a Regna and Krav deck and I held my own playing against powerful decks since re-building it.
same, i have a xantcha list that has a discard subtheme also and recently had to make some changes to the deck given the recent bannings so looking for cool new cards that can take those slots that are much less about having tonnes of mana for me to activate her and more about effects that encourage my opponents to do it more often. Favourite card in my deck is descent into avernus, so would love more things like that in there
I made a Rakdos discard Commander deck recently because I always wanted to try it out. But I only played it once, and after seeing the rest of the table's reactions, I took it apart. I'm still working on many adjacent Rakdos deck ideas (but less awkward for the rest of the table) since its one of my favourite colour combinations.
damn, now i feel a twinge of regret for transforming my Xantcha deck into Thantis a few weeks ago. That's a really cool twist on it. although, playing Jeska's Will in Xantcha is certainly a choice. As is giving her to the Ygra player lol
I’m still going strong with my Trynn and Silvar deck, I just finished another update on it. I love how the deck can be white weenie with humans or Silvar Voltron and if that all failed you can just aristocrat nonsense the table to death
@@MTGMuddstah bello can become a combo deck if that interests you, some of the pieces are in the deck already. Although it's hard to assemble without unconditional tutors.
Did the table miss a bunch of Opposition discards or was that just edited out? Please post the Xantcha deck list! I have a Xantcha discard deck and want to compare!
Re: old vs new: My original Zur sits on a shelf because it's still just uninteractively, abusively powerful. But Zur is an outlier. As for decks I actually use, my commanders are 1, 8, 11, 4, 2, and 1 year(s) old, and while some, like Bruna Fading, have been mostly power crept and are only kept because *I* love 'em, some, like Obzedat, still offer a fairly unique experience. And as long as you're playing your angle right an objectively weaker commander can still definitely eke out an edge, and earn consistent wins.
idk if its just me but even on .75x speed i regularly gotta manually pause n rewind (ie inconvenience myself) to be even remotely able to read the cards. the animation is hella annoying and impractical, please fix
@@connorl0204 Well, it's more cumulative than that. To pull back the curtain a bit, I've done Friday releases as bonuses in the past and seen similar results. A friend recommended I try mid-week and later in the day to test, and it has SIGNIFICANTLY outperformed even my best Friday release in recent years.
Always glad for another video but as I said on the poll, please mix up the commander variety if possible, I feel like Bello and Ygra have been featured nonstop since Bloomburrow came out
Would love to see more Trynn & Silvar on the channel!

Love my ygra deck! Crazy I just picked up the Ruthless Regiment deck from Walmart for 30$ today
Ygra is always a treat to see
Comedy gold
Interesting interaction card and can get big
I gotta get me an Ygra for Baba. Always a treat to get some extra gameplay. Thanks!
Would love to see the Xantcha decklist!

Gonna bet bello wins before seeing who wins
To the surprise of no one bello won

Woohoo bonus episode!!!
Xantcha got hosed SO hard by Ygra. Ygra eats it, gets sac'd to ward trigger, or just flat eaten as food. Bad times. :(
Love the content muddstah
can we have the xantcha's deck list please ?
Andrew, what do you think of Bello? Is it just a one trick pony? What are some of the stand out cards?
Warstorm Surge is one of my current favourites. As is any deck that plays Sunbirds.

Fantastic game, always happy to see another member of team trash panda

4:20 muddstah explains he’s not narrating it
@@Spirited_skiing ah thanks! I missed that part

I thought the bonus card trader sponsored game was supposed to be on fridays?
Friday wasn't getting the traction I wanted, so I've moved it to Wednesday
@@MTGMuddstah its wild to me that the data from one or two days is enough to make informed decisions off of. The algorithm is crazy

I love Bello.
B-B-B-BONUS GAME!
No Xantcha deck list :{
I clicked for the ygra
Bello board be big 😂

Ooooo Xancha
Apparently, Xantcha does not understand she can't beat a hungry cat.
Honestly, her getting sacrificed is not that far off of lore. It just wasn’t to a cat.
Why did Arca survive so long :s
I think he was just annoying but not life threatening...
You targeted scott so much 😭😂 why? Poor lad
Too handsome to let live!
@@MTGMuddstah 🤣🤣🤣😍
Well, for start, he could've tried not playing the shire on an empty board untapped.
first yay
