That was a truly brutal game, and it was really cool how it ended up with all players with single digit life points. Also, it's always nice to hear the banter between players, joking and having fun, it adds a lot of life and soul into a game that is by nature very social. Hope we get more of that in the future!
For all intents and purposes, since the TLoP trigger is mandatory, we can say he targeted Fred to avoid last place. Targeting Arca would be kingmaking Mark anyway.
I don't get why you said you wouldn't wanna cast Xantcha when there's only one friend, sorry, opponent left. I love the devastation on my last opponents face when I cast Xantcha for the last time with like 29 mana up. I knoiw they'll never be able to attack me with it and I can just kill them with her ability.
Slight misplay occurred, Mark should not have been able to make the copy with Reflection of the Mirror Breaker since it says target nonlegendary creature. He could have made a second copy of the reflection to still get the Purphoros trigger one his turn.
I don't see why you wouldn't want to cast Xantcha when you're down to one opponent. Because it gives them a blocker? Arca didn't have a board and balloon man was too expensive to cast, balloon, and activate the balloon, so I think Arca probably should have Xantcha'd.
Arca, people just have an irrational hatred of Xantcha. You give them a 5/5 to hit 2 opponents with and somehow that's seen as bad. Proper game theory goes out the window. "I don't want to do your dirty work" overpowers the part of the brain that says "I want to kill my opponent's and win."
@@Blacklodge_Willy because it messes up the basic infrastructure of the game for a player or more. we consider them "civilians in war." Bad form to target them
Reflection of kiki jiki says target nonlegendary, so couldn't have made a copy of the balloon man

Yea looking back the lord of the pain trigger would go off first before the etb and you would be able deal dmg to some else before the etb trigger

Those final few turns were intense
Xantcha was my original group slug commander and was upgraded to The Lord of Pain. I love both these decks so much!
I still don't know how you put that sol ring onto my deck.
Fellow dad here…
Vitamin D3 and Elderberry help a ton with the daycare crud
13:37 we need more of this
Great game! Muddstah still poppin’ the wattage in the cottage!
I love this set! I build The Lord of Pain and Jolly Balloon Man and they are tons of fun
Great Video as always! Would really love the Xantcha decklist if possible :-)
Ayy I love seeing Ruric Thar getting some love, love them beefy bois!
I love a game where everyone's life totals fall so incrementally quickly.
so good to see the lord of Pain in action, one of the most fun commanders.
Wouldn’t Mark lose before you do because an on cast would trigger before an etb
TLoP's trigger can't target the player who cast the spell.
Ooooo it's been a minute since I've watched last. Glad to be back! 🎉
This commander lineup is beautiful
How much Xantcha was costing? He could just cast her and kill him with her abilitie...
He had exactly 8 mana then 9 from the sol ring. If he he recast Xantcha he could have activated her once, and won
He had already cast Xantcha twice, so she was costing 7 at that point, plus 3 to activate. Even with the Sol Ring, Arca was one mana short.
@@DarkEinherjar I missed that my bad. I thought xantcha only died once from the blasphemy but you’re right it was also blocked well

Where is the Xantcha decklist?
Please, I need it.
can we please have the xantcha deck list ?
Cursing your opponent by predicting a dead draw will always be hilarious
Oh gadhw, i need to see the Xamtcha deck so bad and its the only one without a link ;_;
All this Red love gets my like 👍
Happy to be super early again. Keep up the awesome content.
super fun ending!
That game was rugged and painful lol. Great display!

Correct he could not copy JBM with the reflection, but he also can't copy reflection since it's "another target nonlegendary".
@@tristsoccer Jolly Balloon man made a copy of reflections, and reflections could make a copy of that.
Reflections isn’t legendary.

I believe they are from Magali Villeneuve's Patreon.
@MTGMuddstah Boss!
This xantcha deck is just forbidden deck tech, it will never be in the description.
Down to the wire is always a great time
Reflections can only make a copy of another non-legendary creature, so might not have resulted in y'all dying a bit later. 9:02

Howdy ! Do any of yall remember which episode one of the players used power cards from pokemon instead of blue lands?
Don't remember the episode in full, but it was a Will and Rowan partner deck. Hope that helps!

I love, love love Xantcha but 5/5 for 3 isnt ahead enough of the curve anymore. Everybody just runs her into big blockers immediately
Must suck to have the 1v1 against a board that means you can’t even use your commander. Well played
more Zimone gameplay pls
I'm in the middle of the video, but doesn't the Lord of Pain burn ability deal Commander damage ? :o
No, commander DMG is only through combat
It needs to be combat damage to count as commander damage. Otherwise, Purphoros and Heartless Hidetsugu would've been banned a long time ago.
Everybody’s on here commenting about what could’ve been done better but have they ever played a game with a cold head in a fog
Arca was one mana short of recasting and activating Xantcha at the end... too bad.
lol of pain decks, nice.
What the hell happened with the dislikes? Any reason why its so high? I feel like its a first.
At the end there He couldve gave him his commander and activated her second ability once 😂
destroying mana rocks with red sun's twilight is messed up. in my playgroup it's considered incredibly bad taste to target rocks & dorks.
Why?
@@Blacklodge_Willy because it messes up the basic infrastructure of the game for a player or more. we consider them "civilians in war." Bad form to target them
