The moral of this story/ Listen to Mr Ballen and stay out of strange water. Especially no underwater cave diving. You’re gonna have a bad time.

I was struck immediately by the beauty of this place.
When I was a teen I was scared to death of these whirl pools & getting sucked through dams. When I lived in NM my best friends Air force parents took us to a lake. I was lucky enough to be in a inner tube. But they sounded the alarm. I was WAAAAY far out. But I swam as hard as I could. After just a minute or so the current took hold of me. I just screamed & her dad came & got me. Luckily I could swim too.

Guess I should try scuba diving near the volcanoes along the shore of Hawaii , or idk in the middle of the Mariana Trench or worse yet the bay of fundy during the tidal change 🤣 avoiding giant whirlpools also sounds like a place to avoid

There is a place in the Clear Fork River that the locals used to call the "Blue Hole". It was like that, just not as deep. A classmate of mine was drowned there. I don't know how many people have died there. GOD bless

So do tornadoes (they call their backward tornadoes cyclones). I don't know that it makes a difference. I think you are seriously sc**wed no matter if your whirled clockwise or counter clockwise in the air or water. I just have a question: Does Jacob's hole or the other holes give up their dead?
If you live in the southern hemisphere and that's the "normal" direction for you, wouldn't you say the whirlpools in the northern hemisphere goes in the opposite direction? Just curious.

Regardless of the perspectives, they're opposite of each other, and she can take either perspective and say the same thing. Please don't start a "hemispheric bigotry movement." im curious exactly how deep a person can go un aided other that the air supply. the deepest part in the world is little over 10,000at max depth. just sounds like they get caught in a spin cycle and bad news city seems a huge issie but im no pro was just curious
