I absolutely bitched about doing the Ford starters because of that f'n hidden bolt that needed the specific combination of a deep socket and 3" extension. Then I just did one of these on the Duramax.. My recommendation: disconnect the right engine mount and jack the engine up.
I’m surprised you’re working on this with no secondary vehicle support like jack stands! Only supporting the truck with a floor jack is extremely unsafe. If the floor jack fails, you’re crushed.
Thank you so much! Your video was a life saver.
Thank you
The days of a 30 minute starter change is gone just what I wanted to do on Sunday and don't worry I avoided the signs and beat on mine to get home😂
Thanks bud I’m fixing to pull mine out 😳😉
Good luck!
Thanks for the tip on turning the starter upside down to get it out. Not sure I would have figured that out.
I'm glad it was a help.
Life saver bro…!
I'm glad this helped!
I took the starter apart piece by piece and took it out then took the new one apart and put it in piece by piece wasn’t to bad
What condition led you to replace the starter?
The truck had good batteries but wouldn't start. You could hear the solenoid click on the starter when you turned the key, but it wouldn't crank.

Jack stand is visible at 15:30. I left the floor jack in place anyway because it wasn't in the way, and because "safety".
I'm selling my 2013 sierra 2500hd and buying an OLD vehicle. I'm done with this nonsense computer on wheels garbage.
