  • 📢 With teddy bear faces and adorable curls, Goldendoodles are some of the cutest pets on the planet, but to ensure your pet doesn’t turn into a matted-up fur ball you are going to have to regularly groom them. As a result, many Goldendoodle owners go the extra mile and give their pets a professional haircut to give them a little more style, as well as allowing them to brush and clean their dogs less without causing issues. With that in mind, here are some of the best, coolest, and weirdest haircuts you can give your doodle so that you can focus less on maintenance and more on having fun with your furry friend!
    👉 A Quick Overview
    ✂️ Teddy Bear/Puppy Cut
    Starting off with by far the most popular Goldendoodle hairstyle is the teddy bear cut, also known as the puppy cut because of how much it’ll remind you of when they were well, puppies. This style trims the doodle’s hair to about an inch or two and gives a youthful look to your pet no matter how old they are, as well as making them fluffier and lighter.
    ✂️ The Lion Cut
    The fluffy and kind Goldendoodle and lion do NOT share a lot in common, but that doesn’t have to stop you from getting the hilariously cute lion cut! One of the most unique haircut options there, the cut gained popularity in breeds like the Pomeranian and other purse dogs but has recently garnered favor in the Goldendoodle community, and thank goodness for that!
    ✂️ Mohawk
    If you want to go the “bad boy” route, the mohawk is gonna be the perfect choice for you. Achieved by shaving most of the body down to a teddy bear cut, leaving the head and ears a bit longer, and then leaving longer hair on the top of the head, this look is definitely a statement. If you want to go all-in, though, extend the mohawk all the way through the body as well, and keep the tail long, giving a full-body mohawk for your rebel doodle.
    ✂️ Lamb Cut
    The lamb cut may have started as a poodle trend, but who are we kidding? It looks WAY better on a Goldendoodle. The lamb cut is a personal favorite of many, and it pays for itself to see your dog’s leg hair bounce around as they run outside.
    ✂️ Kennel Cut
    The kennel cut is the easiest to maintain of all the haircuts on this list, but at the same time, it’s not going to give your doodle much personality, either. Essentially it’s like giving your doodle a buzz cut, and if you don’t care about losing the classic doodle curls, this option has a lot of benefits.
    ✂️ Poodle Cut
    The cut looks great on doodles, and it is shocking how truly different your dog looks after getting it. Essentially the process is cutting the hair on the belly and face super short, like less than an inch, and then leaving the hair around the head, tail, and ears longer, at about 2 to 4 inches.

    I love your scissor set, works a treat on our cavoodle puppy!
    Our Connie's favorite hairstyle is the Carnivorous Marshmallow which consists of highly combed nicely shaped 5+ inch of pure fluff.

      @@WeLoveDoodles Thank YOU for making a fine set that remains affordable, some scissors I saw for our Connie was over $200 a piece for *one* scissor for us in Australia, big yikes.
      Makes it especially hard for folks when groomers that will even look at doodles in our area are as rare as hen's teeth thus home grooming is a must.
      So you've done us a HUGE favour and saved little Connie at least two full shave downs, one of which would've been in winter with a puppy coat.🥶🧊

    We have a red standard poodle and a red goldendoodle. I was surprised at how much more the doodle tends toward matting. Her curls, as my groomer SIL says, have golden hair under the curls.

      Hey Marilyn. We recommend that you don't cut your dog's hair until they are at least fully vaccinated. This tends to be 4+ months old.

    The 2nd grooming from a 'professional' groomer my Goldendoodle had a few weeks ago destroyed him and my ever wanting to bring him to another groomer, ever. He came back with a bleeding cut on both ears at the tip and the point of his tail is cut, too, and bleeding. I'm going to have to barber him myself which I don't look forward to. He might be afraid for life from the real bad experience at the butcher, oh, I mean groomer. I'm imagining that after he was cut on the first ear they had to hold him down to finish all the cutting of his super matted fur. It's not funny but the day after he came home from the butchers he was laying next to me on the couch as we watched TV. I glanced over to him and he turned to look at me and growled. I never had a dog who needed a haircut but nonetheless, in 2-3 months he's going to need another haircut. I'm going to have to get him used to the electric clipper sound and touch that I haven't even purchased yet. Wish us luck.

    • @rustyhowe3907
      @rustyhowe3907 Год назад +1

      That's horrible to hear! Although time consuming it's fairly easy to keep a doodle's coat with full line combing and frequent short trims as they start to look a little scruffy. Just remember your first few tries will look terrible but as long as your doodle is matt free and not cut up then it's a good groom.

    We had two Doodles and I clipped them approximately 4 times a year. Trim them close and always start with the face first because they will get tired and so will you. It takes about 20 minutes to get the job done. By doing it yourself you will save a lot of money. Make sure you have a good quality clipper. I found using a #15 blade works the best. After you do it a few times it becomes easer over time. Just start off slow until you get the feel of it.

    • @WeLoveDoodles
      @WeLoveDoodles  Год назад

      Yes! We used to groom our Goldendoodle too during Covid. The first time we did it, grooming took several hours. Nowadays we can do it in 1.5 hours or so! Agree with the #15 blade!
