When I was a kid our mothers sewed a long piece of yarn to our mittens and ran it up one sleeve and down the other and the mittens hung out the sleeves. Pretty creative I think.
Most jackets have a loop where the tag is. Put a piece of elastic through the loop attach mittens with clips tied or sewn to the elastic.
I lived in Middle Georgia all my life. When we had snow or cold every few years, we would have handywrap put on our hands and then put in socks. I would have bread bags for my feet with socks inside and over the bags. Yes, I am much older than most on this channel. Lol
Called them idiot strings
Yep they were called "idiot" mitten holders!!
Dummy strings or not get mom mad strings because you lost your mittens or gloves .
"Rather than learning about triangles..." that made me laugh out loud! I agree learning how to peel garlic is much more helpful.
The mitten holder gave me a laugh - back when I was young, we had knitted mittens joined by a long yarn that would go inside your coat and never lose your mittens.
Ha! Same!
I have bought 2 of these can openers. I am older. I have little strength in my hands. It is a game changer for me. I had hand surgery and a different wrist surgery. I could not prepare a meal for myself. After i found this.... i was freed. I could cook again. Wonderful item. Worth every penny.
For those of us with arthritis, that can opener is a treasure.
Ditto with the jar opener.
"I'm still riding that high!" Only another mother could understand that ~~ I laughed outloud!
I remember gloves of mittens with a cord that goes inside your coat sleeves.
Love the baby hand reaching for a nugget!
Those scrapers come with Every piece of stone ware from Pampered Chef, they are great at getting them and cast iron clean.
The mitten clip is really old. My kids are 46 and 47 and they had them!
My 3 oldest kids are in their 50s and they had them too. As did the 45 year old.
I love my scraper too! I use it to scrape food off plates, pots/pans, etc.. I’m one of the weirdos that does t like to put dishes caked with food in the dishwasher…. And this little guys does such a good job and doesn’t damage anything!
The scraper is for cleaning out pots or bowls - each corner fits a different profile. I’ve had one for about 20 years and I use it all the time. It doesn’t scratch my aluminum pans and fits all those weird spots.
I'm older with some arthritis, power scrubber, electric can opener, etc. are a BIG help. Keep your manual in case of power outage.
That scraper also scrapes sticky food and dough from your bowls! Thanks for the ideas
I have had the under the cabinet jar opener for several years. I love that thing! And I also have one of those small scrappers. I think I have had that for about 25 years. I get upset when it is not put back in the proper drawer and I have to go searching for it. When you need it, you need it!
Why was I learning about different types of triangles in school? Just teach me how to peel garlic! - 🤣🤣🤣
Almost spit out my coffee! So much truth in that!
the jar opener is my favorite, it’s a game changer for me😅
“… I guess ‘Jesus take the wheel’ on those; they’re just never gonna get clean …” 😂😂😂
The first product, the baggie holder, can be easily stored. Mine has “legs” that can bend, that way the whole thing goes flat and it’s easier to store😊
Came here to say that.
Mitten clips were around when I was a kid in the early 70s! ❤
Oh the mitten clips bring back memories. I am older and had them when I was a kid. It was always a big deal when you were old enough to be responsible enough for your mittens and not need them.
Me too! Back in the 60s and 70s.
Thank you for sharing! Some of the items sound perfect for those of us with weak hands or wrists!
I have had that under the cabinet jar opener for several years. I love that thing!!!!
Back in the 1980s, I went to flea markets that were held twice a year in my state (back when craftsmen built wooden potato and onion boxes and Brad boxes, etc. One item I bought was a wooden jar opener that worked like the plastic one you’re showing. You Mount it under your cabinet just like yours is. I LOVED THAT THING BECAUSE IT WORKED SO WELL! But my husband took it down to move it to a different cabinet and I haven’t seen it in years! I need to find that!!
The can opener and jar opener we got for my mother-in-law who is in her 90's so they are great for older folks or people who have arthritis.
Older person with neuropathy in both hands! My hair stylist/bestie both me the jar opener & installed it! ❤ SO helpful 👍
Bought not both 🤭
For jar opener, I bought the Healthy Seniors jar opener it’s about the size of your can opener and it works about the same way.
You just need one hand to push the button.
No need to install anything and it works in the drawer. I love it absolutely!
You don’t have to be a senior to use it
I think the plastic scraper you are using is for cast iron pans, at least it looks like my Lodge ones. Good idea for counter scraping though!
I also use my scraper for stoneware. Best thing ever for cleaning a pizza stone!
It is good for the nonstick pans and stone ware too!
@@ambercarter6378mine came with my pizza stone from Pampered Chef!
Yep. All the above.
Also use for “cutting” brownies & treats in non-stick bakeware. Multiple uses for crafters as well!
I have brought back something from when my kids were little. I didn't use bottles but when they got to sippy cup/trainer flatware/teethers stage, I had a basket for the top shelf of my dishwasher. I haven't thought about that in ages. I find some ingenious way to keep my little stuff from getting lost in the cycle each time but a light bulb went off yesterday & I remembered my basket, found one & ordered it!
Another thing about the scraper… it reminds me of my pampered chef scraper. It does all kinds of good things including dishes and cookware that has cooked on foods.
You can also use them to scrape your cast iron too 😊
Callie, the first item is easy to store. It folds down flat!! I keep in in my kitchen drawer.
I use clothes pins to keep my mittens together lol
LOL at the mitten clips. Had them 50+ years ago for my kids.
Love my automatic can opener because the edges of the cans are not like razors and much safer
Jesus take the wheel for messes... I hear and feel that! 😂 😂 😂
That battery-powered stirrer for sauces - YES! I bought one as a silly gift for my husband a couple of years ago since he loves to make this one special cheese sauce. The thing is amazing! I love your channel and have purchased quite a few items your have recommended and you are always spot on!
That little scrapper thing works great for pizza stones!
Agree absolutely about the clip on strainer! It's so much easier to clean and store than a colander.
❤I love my “pot scrapper” too!!❤
Gap scraper - take a toothbrush and cut off the outside bristles.
Mittens - when I was small, my mittens were connected by a cord that ran along my arms/along the shoulder.
I need to save this for my Christmas list! From the under counter paper towel holder and can opener, to the strainer! Cool!
9:46 TIP!🎉 If you have a silicone mat already you can use it the same way for the garlic. I just finished making dinner and tried this exact process. I got my whole bulb done in 15 minutes, I couldn't stop at just one it was too fun 😂
I had those mitten clips when I was a kid in the 70s! Love them. 😊
As a preschool teacher, the mitten clips would be so helpful! The name labels are simply a must! ❤️
I got this little scrapper squares with my Pampered Chef Stones, they're very versatile..
Clip on strainer looks cool. Colander takes up too much room.😊
I laughed in agreement about your geometry comment. So true when do I need to classify triangles, but peel garlic, like nightly.
Lol 'I don't know what you're straining' Love you and your tips Kallie! 😁💜
Scraper reminds me of a pampered chef scraper for their stoneware!
For as long as I can remember (I'm 69), my Mom would always look in the bottom of the milk coolers at the grocery store for the little white plastic pieces that come from the handle of a gallon of milk plastic jug. That is what shecused as a scraper. Works well and free.
The scraper is for pots and pans. Scrapes off cooked on gunk.
Smash garlic clove with side of knife and skin comes off easily.
Or put garlic in a container with a lid. Shake well. Open container, dump out freshly peeled garlic.
The JAR opener Dr Kelly put in Made of wood probably back in 1966 . Where I work at the veterinarian office . I started in 2001 though . But it was already there in the clinic . Very nice and Useful.
I love them all, except the continuous pot stirrer. Looking at the video, the gizmo is only staying in the center of the pot, so it's not scraping the edges of the pot. Not only that, the liquid in the pot isn't even moving along the periphery. It looks ineffective. But everything else is really clever and useful. And you are so funny!
The scraper at 4:45 is for cast iron skillets - but you can use it for a lot of things!
You are my absolute favourite! Your tips are SO great! I would love to see a video of the top tips/products your fans love - mine, easily, are: hanging laundry bag, cord wraps, drawer dividers, robot vacuum, folding laundry in living room, socks at back door. I’d love to hear what others have tried and loved. Thanks SO much! You have, honestly, made my life much easier!
And my Little Green, and the Steam Shot.
What a great idea!
Like this idea. With you on your list. Kitchen laundry bag is genius.
That scraper is amazing when washing pans and casserole dishes that have caked on stuff! I have 3 and I love them!
The scraper is for scraping food off of pots and pans. It helps when washing them. I have one and love it!
I love my can opener and the garlic peeler!
Cool scraper!! I used to have one for cleaning non stick skillets and my baking stones. I got it from pampered chef. Loved them!!
The mitten chips work will for hold scarves in place too!
The scraper is for cast iron pans, but OHMYYES!!!! My husband makes bread and leaves it caked on our butcher block counters. This is SMART!
Awesome gadgets! My house had a jar opener. I now know what the gadget is for in the kitchen. My life life is forever changed especially for solo parent meal times. Maybe no full pickle jars for the opener.
I used to live in NJ and now live in Houston. Here there is something called elephant garlic. I only buy that now because it is easier to peel and each clove is gianormous so one is all you need for most recipes.
The “weird scraper thing” is supposed to be for cleaning cast iron pans but I agree, useful for so many things. I got one after getting a cast iron pan but I’ve been using it all over the kitchen for different little tasks.
I love the can opener. I had gone through so many and hurting my wrist in the process. I bought 2 of these when I saw someone else use it. Well, that was 3 years ago and the first one still works great. I love how I can put it on and walk away and do something else. Game changer for sure. Fits in my drawer great. I need to order bag holders. They are great. Thank you!
I have the bag holder and it’s great!
We have silicone air frier liners they're great. Glad I bought them
Those scrapers are great! I get unreasonably bothered by gunk clogging up my scrubbers - this clears it away first!
I got the ziplock holder and I love it!!
That scrape thingy would be awesome for play dough!
The under shelf jar opener is something else I need to add to my kitchen.
Love, love your sense of humor!
Oh yes I have most of those but thanks for the few I don't have...will order. Many thanks I need that paper towel holder for sure.
I have one of those little scrapers to clean my cast iron pan when it's crusty.
Some of these are good for people with mobility issues ❤
I just fucking love you 😂 I love how you leave in the clips where you slip up on what you’re trying to say. Just shows how real you are. “I’m still riding that high” 🤣💀
The legs on the bag stand fold down, making it much easier to store. It took me a few times using before I discovered that.
My sister got me the clip on strainer for Christmas and I didn’t think I would ever use it. WRONG. I love that thing and use it constantly!
Aluminum foil will do the same job for small batteries, will even take the place of a battery if your short one ...
You can use the scraper to clean off burnt food off of pans and pots
I'm all about the rechargeable batteries for things we use all the time like controllers.
making sure you know that zip lock bag holder folds flat :) I love mine!
a lot of winter coats have a small loop inside the sleeve that you're able to clip your mittens to, also helps keep the sleeve from rolling up and exposing your wrist
My bag holder arms folds flat? Just curious as to why you thought it was hard to store? I mean even flat its a little odd shaped but it fits fine in my utensil drawer. I absolutely love it.
Yessss, I got one of those little scrapers and it's so amazing.
Thank you for your humor!! You are so great, I enjoy watching your channel!❤
I need the scraper. Thanks for trying to help us simplify our lives.
thanks for this - I added three items to my cart 💜
I use adapters with rechargeable batteries that turn my AA into C and D sizes.
The battery extender & the garlic peeler…OMG!!!
Got the garlic peeler because of one of your previous videos and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Love. Like literally love it. ❤
love my auto can opener
That little scraper, sort of square, I got some of them from pampered chef, they are great for different bowls or dishes that you have to clean with a knife or whatever you have on hand. My mini scraper has 3 rounded corners and one square.. the round corners are not the same size, therefore you can clean practically any dish edges. I don't know how I would do if I lost mine. It's the best 2 $ spent in my life.
Thanks for All Your Great Videos. The Vanilla, it is the sugar that seals it shut. If you remember to wipe off before close OR Use your Great Gadget No Think About Opener!🫶 Chris from Chicago ❤
I love your videos! That’s for the great info! 😊❤
Can you share your bread recipes or like a weekly dinner ideas
Hi, The little scraper is like my Pampered Chef scraper too. Good for anything you can think to use it for. It can be cleaned in soap and disinfected & on to the next thing. The mitten clips are really old. I had them, & I'm old. My son who is 52 had them. The only thing is the kids sometimes pull the mitten or catch it and undo the clip on the sleeve. I also had the mittens sewn to yarn threaded then in one sleeve and out the other. Whatever works! I ordered 1 of the tub scrubber machines. I have to have surgery on my hands & I think this will help me. Thank You The auto stir thing doesn't look very useful too me. The video you put up shows the edges of the liquid bubbling & the middle not. It seems as though it might not help things get stirred evenly which doesn't work on most liquids. Have a great week and what a very informative video. 😊
I had the mitten clips and mittens with the yarn connector, too. Memories!
I'm 50, and I need those mitten clips! I've lost 3 gloves in 2 weeks 😫
Jesus take the wheel is my theme song every darn day!
The scraper tool can be used for cast iron😊 even other cookware with stuck on stuff👍 i have a clip on strainer too! Lol mines green😊
❤I love kitchen gadgets!!❤ Problem is I have 2 drawers full of them, I'd like a wsy to organize them, 😊 thanks
I am getting me a can opener!
I've been on the fence about the electric spin scrubber bc the as seen on TV versions that came out several years ago were not worth it at all but I know ur not about wasting money on something that doesn't work Kallie so I've just added this one to my cart!!!
