    Here's a trick I learned a long time ago. Turn the jar over and hit the bottom with the heel of your hand (hard) and you'll hear a pop. That released the air lock and then the jar opens. Yes. Game changer.

    • @stabbykat
      @stabbykat 10 месяцев назад +5

      Yup, works nearly everytime, if a jar is super sealed putting a butter knife under the lid to pop the air will work too

    Just a heads up, fruit flies don't really come from fruit, they are generally from your drain. Clean your sinks, drains, garage disposal (anything having to do with your sink). They have this stuff at Home Depot that you pour down the drain to kill the fruit flies, it works really well for me. So if you're having issues with them and you don't have any produce laying around, they're probably coming from your drain/pipes.

      @ReniLoewenherz 10 месяцев назад +4

      No they made eggs on the fruits and you buy these eggs when you buy fruits

      Vinegar flies live in and around wet areas. They look a lot like fruit flies

      The way I get rid of Fruit flies is to pour a little vinegar in a small glass cover it with plastic wrap, poke holes in the top with a toothpick and sit it aside. You could use wine instead but even though the flies may die happier I don’t like sharing my wine.

    Never too much garlic in my home. If a recipe says 2 cloves, I'm usually adding 4+ because "that one looks small, does it count as half or one?" Onion also seems to be added in larger quantities than necessary.

    • @Sorchia56
      @Sorchia56 10 месяцев назад +2

      😂😂! We had them in our homes when I was a kid. Pretty much every house had one. It wasn’t until my husband and I were redoing our kitchen that I realised, ‘No! No, there is not a designated cabinet you choose that has this item!’! Yes, I asked. The woman helping us looked at me as if I’d 3 heads and my husband was laughing hysterically! She had no clue what the jar opener was and my hubby is a builder, he knew what I was talking about but thought is was hilarious that I actually thought it came with the cabinet! And the pull out cutting boards…that’s a custom order? Since when? Why? I know why but still! HAVE FUN WITH YOUR OPENER!!! *and yes, we have under cabinet jar openers in our homes! 😂

    I like to use less plastic " stuff" when I can.Im worried about the environment and think we can all do our bit.I do like your videos tho for me they are very plastic oriented. So, like you I HATE FRUIT FLYS!!Here's a hack.I have tried loads and this actually really works.Get a glass jar ,fill with balsamic vinegar more than half way.Cover in saran wrap then with a pointy knife make little punctures.Repeat.leave overnight or for a couple of days.Voila!Jar of dead fruit flysheet and when you for them down the toilet the vinegar will also help clean limescale.Obhiously clean again, b.soda and cheap vinegar make a chemical reaction and great for sinks and toilets.I promise promise it works.One less plastic utensil in landfill.And yes I know saranwrap is plastic
