    Hi all! I'm seeing questions about recipe measurements. Here they are:
    1 cup roughly chopped cilantro leaves
    1 jalapeño seeds removed and roughly chopped
    1 clove of garlic roughly chopped
    1/4 cup mayonnaise
    1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about the juice of 2 limes)
    3/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
    1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    1/2 cup avocado or canola oil
    And, I'll start including text with measurements for future videos. Hopefully, that will be helpful for yall! ❤️

    This is the best dressing! I follow the recipe exactly except that I use 3 cloves of garlic. So so good on our home made shrimp tacos! I tried the avocado and sour cream variations, but came back to the original because it keeps beautifully and really lets the sharpness of the lime.come through. Yum! Had it tonight and realized I'd never left a comment despite it becoming a staple. Delicious!

    I had some cilantro that I needed use or it would go to waste... and didn’t have time to go shopping so I swapped the limes for vinegar, I also didn’t have Mayo and it turned out still super tasty. Since I didn’t put Mayo it had slight bitter after taste so I put some honey in the mix and that fixed the after taste

    • @TheAnthonyKitchen
      @TheAnthonyKitchen  4 года назад +1

      No, unfortunately, it will not taste the same if you omit a hot pepper like a jalapeno or serrano and replace it with a sweet pepper, like a bell pepper! However, you might be on to something delicious! I would recommend subbing in a roasted red bell pepper instead of raw bell pepper. You can typically find them in a jar in the international food aisle. Also, if you take care to seed the jalapeno well, they are typically not too spicy for most! Hope this helps and happy cooking 😊

    I didn’t measure my garlic I just put a bunch in there and my nose was burning like I was eating wasabi. I didn’t think you could OD on garlic. But I definitely overdid it with the garlic. 😂

    Hi
    Can we use yogurt or sour cream instead of Mayo ?

    • @TheAnthonyKitchen
      @TheAnthonyKitchen  3 года назад

      If you don't mind the acidity you could, but it may be better to do half mayo half sour cream/yogurt, or half avocado in the place of mayo and then sour cream and/or yogurt in addition to that! Does that make sense 🤪 Hope it helps!

    What is the substitute for Jalapeno if it's not available here ?

    • @TheAnthonyKitchen

      Serranos! But they can’t be a little hotter so be sure to get those seeds out!

    Is it possible to use plain yogurt instead of mayonnaise?

    • @TheAnthonyKitchen
      @TheAnthonyKitchen  4 года назад

      It will change the flavor (it would be more acidic) so you might consider less lime!

    Bought coriander yesterday for the first time.. didn't know it had an acquired taste.🤢 so I want to use it as a dressing instead to kill some of its taste.. hopefully this will work..thanks!

    Can you do without the oil ?

    • @TheAnthonyKitchen
      @TheAnthonyKitchen  3 года назад

      I think there's enough mayonnaise in there to serve as the binder/emulsifier, so you might try just adding in a splash of water to thin it out if you aren't using the oil :) Happy cooking!

    If you want an oil that has no after taste, or bitterness, get California Ranch Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Walmart...not California, but California Ranch. Real olive oil. Very mild taste.

    You don't want to "double up" on serano chili as they are hotter than jalapeno.

    … I like the idea of using fresh avocado with Greek yoghurt … if you’re going to use mayonnaise, it should be fresh made …
