Made this today, it blows the doors off of most Mexican food restaurants green sauces, creamy and flavorful with the perfect amount of heat. 5 Stars, Thank you!
6/12/2023 Little late to the party here .... like by 2 years ... but just made this just as described..... including the Mexican oregano and cilantro. It is wonderful! Probably one of the best RUclips recipes I've come across. In spite of the jalapeños (I thought it would be hot) ..... it's mild and full of flavor. Thank you Outdoor Indoor Texan!
Never too late to add your two cents. Thanks so much for leaving the feedback! It makes my day to hear it. People often think the jalapeños are going to be killer but it turns out surprisingly mild.

I've had many versions of this sauce and have never had a bad one. Thanks for sharing yours. I fry my vegetables in the oil and add some tomatillos too. So long as you cook the onion, white and red are preferred by me. I usually cook the garlic to mellow it out a bit, but raw is good too. Try a scoop of chicken bouillon next time. So good!
I put my jalapeños in the oven last time, but that does simplify things a lot to just cut em up and saute them. Been on a big jalapeno salsa kick and figured I could super easily make my own so here I am!
I like the sauté method only because I can control the amount of char on the peppers, but you’ll have more or less similar results with the oven. Fun to try different ways! If you have access to a grill or an open (clean) flame, try that too!
That’s awesome, Cristina! Thanks for watching and leaving the feedback! Make sure to check out some of my other recipes on the channel. There’s plenty more sauces where this one came from!

The sauce looks really good, I love green sauce, I was curious about all the seeds but it looks like they blended in well. BTW what are those Musket seasoning in the background?
If you're worried about the seeds showing up stuck in a tooth or adding too much heat, you can always either remove the seeds from the peppers before you add them, or run the sauce through a strainer at the end to get most out. Those seasonings in the back are from a company called Musket Powder Seasonings. They used to be a sponsor of mine and I still enjoy their products. It's a coffee based seasoning blend so it's rather unique. Worth checking out!

@@gussygatlin3093 Always looked at it as a preserving agent. I don't mind the flavor it gives personally I think it takes a little bite out of the peppers too. I just think it allows the salsa to last longer when in the fridge. If you have a lot of people it probably won't last.
A friend brought me some jalapenos and came across your recipe that looks so delicious and creamy Will make this tomorrow Thanks for sharing Just subscribed
Excellent sauce and great video thanks! I do mine a little differently in that I add a couple of Serrano Chilies to the pot, use fresh lemon juice instead of lime and use avocado oil that I get at Costco for a healthier alternative to canola oil. I do boil my jalapeños and onion because it’s faster and makes clean up easier!
Try substituting fresh lemon for lime too. We live in Baja so we use a lot of limes down here but lemon really does taste better! It gives the sauce a bright citrus note without the slight bitter taste you get from limes. The Serrano’s also add a nice complexity to the sauce and only increase the heat a little bit.
I have in the past but personally prefer limes 🤷♂️. That’s the fun of recipes like these though, you can substitute and tweak like crazy. I have a completely separate recipe for a green Serrano hot sauce you should check out if you’re a fan of those peppers.
Great recipe!!! I was nervous because I used jalapenos I vaccuum sealed and froze from the garden... it came out great, even the color was spot on (which I wasn't sure about since the peppers were frozen). Definitely making again!!
Wow! Made this up and it's outstanding! Didn't have any Mexican Oregano (on order with Amazon) so that's not in there. This is as good if not better than anything I've ever eaten out or got from a store. This will be a regular like the pickled red onions. Thanks for sharing cause this is amazing...
Made this according to the recipe and it came out great, but it’s a little spicy for me. I’m going to add some of it to a plain Greek yogurt to add some creaminess. Love the recipe! Thanks for sharing.
If you want to reduce the spice for the future, split the jalapenos and seed half to 3/4 of them and then slice and cook. Most of the heat is in the seeds so minimizing the amount of seeds minimizes the heat. You could also sub some of the jalapenos for a milder pepper such as Anaheim or poblano, either of which has a more complex flavor than jalapeno, imo. But they are also milder so that will reduce the sharp bite of the sauce.
0:50 - Lots of people say that yellow onions are milder than white onions. Maybe there’s some truth to that, but to me white onions are much sweeter than yellow. And by any account Vidalia onions are the best in my opinion.
Funny enough, I received my annual 50 lb order of Vidalia onions a couple weeks back. I agree they’re the sweetest, and in my opinion best, but now we’re talking about specific genetic strains. In general there are kitchen rules about certain onions being best for certain dishes, but I totally hear you! Thanks for watching and weighing in!

Thanks for watching and thanks so much for circling back! I love hearing the feedback.
Thanks for sharing, Neil! I like the avocado oil idea. I just happened to have canola on hand when filming.
New friend this looks amazing I love spicy sauces and rubs that don't involve additives thank you for sharing I look forward to watching 😊
Thanks so much, Sheena!

Thank you for watching and leaving the comment!
Great recipe!!! I was nervous because I used jalapenos I vaccuum sealed and froze from the garden... it came out great, even the color was spot on (which I wasn't sure about since the peppers were frozen). Definitely making again!!
Great to hear, Janice! Thanks so much for watching and leaving the feedback.
Wow! Made this up and it's outstanding! Didn't have any Mexican Oregano (on order with Amazon) so that's not in there. This is as good if not better than anything I've ever eaten out or got from a store. This will be a regular like the pickled red onions. Thanks for sharing cause this is amazing...
I love hearing it! Thanks so much for sharing your feedback. It made my night.
I love this sauce! ❤️
I love hearing it! Thanks so much for watching!
Made this according to the recipe and it came out great, but it’s a little spicy for me. I’m going to add some of it to a plain Greek yogurt to add some creaminess. Love the recipe! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching and leaving the feedback, Raina! Sorry about the spice 🥵. Yogurt should help though! Enjoy!
