Morgan having a chance to move forward from this tragedy, but choosing to slip into further darkness.
Barris being offered the chance to embrace that darkness, but chooses to seek the light again.
It’s an interesting dichotomy. Although I think an extra episode, one for each arc, would’ve been nice.

What people don't know is that Barriss didn't just casually bombed the jedi temple and framed her Ahsoka. In the short story a Jedi's Duty, by Karen Strong out of Barriss perspective before she began to fall to the dark side, is it explained.
Palpatine searched for vulnerable Jedis like Barriss, to get them on the dark path, he planned the turning of Jedi to Inquisitors and so many other things. Really a mastermind.
Mirialans actually have a pretty long live span, so it needs to be her force healing that makes her older. Lyn is also really far down the dark path and that makes her age slower.
I'm curious if we see Barriss/Lyn in Ahsoka S2. 🤔 Kenobi is after Ep5, that explains also why Lyn is so silent/absent, she lost her only friend 😏

The fluffy basic-speaking mole alien is a Mohsenian, there’s one in Rise Of Skywalker. What’s crazy is that the Visual Dictionary talks about them being able to “Smell illness and injury” and their body’s having “natural defence’s” against sickness. The one in TROS is a medic who can diagnose patients “quickly and accurately”
Having one be a healers assistant for Barriss is PERFECT! Lucasfilm going deep on the lore details AGAIN! 🔥

23:58 that’s not Project Necromancer, it’s like a decade after that. It’s Inquisitors kidnapping children for the Inquisitorious program, like we see in the Vader comics and Rebels Season 2.

    • @primecoconut4204

definitely after Project Necromancer or the events of Bad Batch. I do believe in the Vader comics, the purpose of having Vader retrieve the full list of children from the Jedi Archives was for both Project Necromancer and Inquisitorious recruitment but since he destroyed it, both were put on severe delays.
As for Rebels S2, i think it was at that point The Inquisitorious are really running short on numbers to the point Vader has to be on-field, to which he prefers that than a desk job.

God, even if it is in a book in the future, I just want Ahsoka to see Barris in the World Between Worlds, and them reconcile. Even though she did frame Ahsoka, deep down she never really meant to do it. She let her emotions take control. Her frustration with the militarization of the Jedi Order made her mad, which is understandable when you are taken at a young age, and trained by people who tell you "Our job is to keep peace". Barris is very much a pacifist to an extent, this is proven in "The Way Out" where she wields no weapon and focuses on helping others.

In the last episode, I think it's pretty clear this takes place after the events of Kenobi. Though I was expecting Vader to come after Barriss just to bring her character to full circle, make it poetic. (Anakin imprisoned her, Vader freed her kinda way)
I've noticed that some of the Inquisitors seem burnt out, tired and lost their cool easily compared to what they initially were. This is evident in The 4th Sister as shown and The 9th Sister from Jedi (in Fallen Order, she was smart and brutal and by Survivor, she's but a suicidal raging beast)

@@voiceofraisin3778 nah in the vader comics Vader discovers the existence of the inquistors when vader is sent after the grand inquistor by palps who tells him the GI is an intruder. After a brief fight Palps reveals the truth and shows him several other inquisitors (fifth brother, sixith brother, seventh sister, ninth sister and tenth brother) and informs Vader they are now under his command weather he likes it or not. Vader proceeds to teach them the meaning of suffering by removing a limb from each of them. The episode's batch of inquisitors is likely the class 2/ the second batch of recruits. The comic goes on to show that the inquisitors were based on Coruscant until 14 bby where a public incident between vader, the thirteenth sister and an unnamed male inquisitor leads to Palpatine moving them to the Fortress inquistorius on Nur to avoid another such incident and to stop them causing chaos on "his world". The event also leads Vader to requesting his own world. The theory of them building the modern Fortress around an existing structure underwater is fascinating, and actually makes a lot of sense. They had a LOT of it built for how soon after the war it was- it makes a lot more sense they were just building on top of something else, upgrading the structural integrity and whatnot. And it would fit kind of how like I think the Project Necromancer lab in Mount Tantiss seemed to be built into an ancient Sith site of some kind.
Palpatine has been shown to be very into ancient Sith mysticism and cults, and so rebuilding an old, forgotten Sith fortress or outpost would make sense for him from both a personal and also economical standpoint. It has symbolism and it’s also cheaper and more efficient than building a new one outright.

Kenobi happens 10 years after Order 66, so by that time Barris has to be 27-ish... so TotE's last episode has to be way after that because of Barris aging, no 27 years old looks THAT old no matter how much spice and deathsticks given.

Everybody refers to Gui-Gon's death as being the only one that really takes when getting stabbed through the torso. But what everyone forgets is that he DIDN'T die right away. He _fell_ right away, but Maul just left him there and waited for Obi-Wan to be free to come at him, they then had a full lightsaber duel, Kenobi cuts him in half and he falls...*and the Kenobi and Jinn have a conversation where where he gets a "deathbed promise" out of Kenobi to train Anakin.*
In every other case, the person stabbed has 1.) received help fairly quickly (Ahsoka shows up _immediately_ after Sabine is stabbed, for example, and Palpatine comes for Anakin right away)
or, 2.) they're already on the Dark Side and so filled with hate and rage that it keeps them going (Reva, the Grand Inquisitor [who probably also received help fairly quickly], Maul).
See, that was the stupid part of bringing Maul back. Nothing about the way he died should have been survivable; the severed spine should have paralyzed him, and he lost a lot of organs when he was cut. But if he could survive _that,_ then nobody in the SW galaxy should ever die from any wound provided that they are found and given adequate triage within a reasonable amount of time. When Anakin was the *only* one who survived having his limbs cut off and being burned alive on Mustafar, it made him an extraordinary and epic character, someone who stood out as the only example, making him superhuman, basically.
When Maul came back, it broke everything. After that, it's "Hey you got the Force? Oh, well you can't be killed, then. And btw lightsabers aren't as deadly a weapon anymore as you think they are, they're basically just swords now. No, scratch that...they are swords that can heal the injuries they give you, because they cauterize the wounds. But thy can still deflect blaster bolts, and swords can't deflect bullets, so that's something, right? Right?"

The Fortress Inquisitorious is being built on top of some old ruins: if you check out the training chamber and then the gladiator ring, there are runes carved into the walls. Maybe it's on top of an old Sith temple?

@@corynydam2361 actually I don’t. I frankly made an assumption, given the trend in Star Wars where a structure (e.g., the Jedi temple) is built over something older. And those two areas look dramatically older than the surrounding areas of the Fortress Inquisitorious.

Absolutely loved Bariss' arc! Did what she needed to survive but when confronted with the obvious evil of the Empire she chose the light. Beautiful shots too. Second episode was quite confusing, I was waiting for the kid's master or friend to show up but then "they" is just one dude. Completely took me out of the story.
Third episode brought it home though, Lynn getting lost in the caves was so cool. I dig the the cave trapping the dark side, making it impossible to get out. Sad that Bariss sacrificed herself, or got killed in the process, but at least she saved Lynn in the end.

Double commenting, but the ending with Lyn includes that shot of her looking straight up in the cave, accompanied by what sound like whispering voices. Whispering voices in Star Wars almost ALWAYS mean there’s Force-sensitive tomfoolery running amok, either the Dark Side doing evil chanting or the Light Side offering a helping hand. In this case, it might actually be a little of both.
Symbolically, Lyn is looking up TOWARDS the light and away from the darkness. Accompanied by the whispers, it could symbolize her letting go of her fear, her anger, abandoning the Dark Side and heralding her return to the Light. The fact that the storm outside the cave stopped, and the image of Lyn emerging from the dark and into the light also adds to this theme of “returning to the Light.” It’s similar to the non-verbal messaging JJ Abrams did in The Force Awakens with Kylo Ren, when he kills Han on the catwalk, except that’s the opposite and it’s Kylo forsaking the Light and sinking into Darkness.

Hopeful thinking but if there's another Tales Of, I'd love it to be Tales of Rebellion. Not Tales of THE Rebellion, Tales of Rebellion which technically would include the Separatists and we can watch General Greivous go from being a proud Kaleesh warrior to the brutal and terrifying monster cyborg he became.

The Animation Dude! I mean Rukk already was so upgraded as well as Thrawn skin texture from Rebels... but the looks from the Jedi temple burning from her cell, Nur and the Inquisitorium under construction. The Grat Inquisitor from the very poor ones from his species on Episode 3 to the one on rebels to this... Vader's helmeth at the end of Part 4. You set such an interesting question there... There was a previous temple on this Nur Inquisitorium Base? An old Sith one? A corrupted Jedi one? The open hands of Barriss before Lyn stabs her, she totally was expecting Lyn to open at least a lil bit to the light side to sense her or sense the path out and she gave her life for the 4th Sister to defeat darkness... Thinking that line from the villager before been slaughtered "we are always judged by our actions" will have acho somehow on Lyn's destiny.

I really like how Barriss' story starts, and how her approach to being an Inquisitor is "we want to help you, not slaughter you", but I wasn't really sold on the ending. It was almost too similar to stories we've seen before, I dunno. I guess I expected something a bit different from the jump from 2nd to 3rd episode.

Idk, I am okay with what Barriss's story is turning out to be but I wish it was different I guess. Her not being okay with killing random people and turning back to the light "as a Jedi" is a bit far fetched to me. Barriss not only blew up the temple, she also murdered a number of people both with the explosion and by her own hand like various clones and Letta Turmond. She also attempted to kill Anakin when she was confronted and blamed the Jedi for the war, basically she was anti-Jedi and was willing to go to extreme measures to push her point of view like bombing the temple, murdering people, and framing one of her closest friends which nearly led to her being found guilty by a military tribunal and either imprisoned for life or executed. That doesn't scream good person to me. It seems more like Dooku who fell down a dark path based on his morals but then those morals became corrupted which is what I was kind of expecting in this story. Barriss suddenly being adversed to killing and being friendly with Jedi seems out of character at this point in her life especially as an Inquisitor i'd assume she'd be indoctrinated to be loyal to the empire and to hate the jedi further.
The focus on Barriss and the 4th Sister was neat and all but I would have liked to see Luminara and more of Vader and the Inquisitorious. We never saw Luminara's reaction or anything about her concerning Barriss post-S5 so it would have been interesting to see a fallen Barriss interact with her former master. What we got out of Vader was sort of lackluster, especially as he had been wronged by Barriss in the past so he would have probably been annoyed by her presence. I do think Vader should have been the one to hunt her down but eh its fine.
Overall I was excited at first and that excitement kind of dimmed cause my expectations were different from the reality and I wasn't too fond of what we got in the end.

It does not take much for this to be set after Kenobi if you recall.Leia was five years old.
This is between bad batch and rebels or R1.

  • @Culperrr

It’s interesting how easy it is (imho) for those who watch Star Wars to somewhat forgive or have legitimate empathy for those who went to the dark side. We see this with Vader, Ventress, Bariss, and more. Vader and Ventress murdered thousands of people and were cold blooded killers. Barris was a terrorist and killed many people. It reinforces the idea that no matter how bad someone is, as long as they did it for the right reasons then we can forgive them, which I don’t subscribe to at all. This is a conversation that I think was had in the rebellion itself, as we saw it unfold in season 3 or 4 of Rebels, where Saw Gerrera was at odds with Mon Mothma over his way of fighting the Empire. Thats more forgivable (justified) because the Empire didn’t fight fair either.
With that said, I think the Bariss story line was great. I do wish we had gotten some more time with her on repenting (for lack of a better word) for what she did during the Clone Wars.

I think this was only twelve to thirteen years before Rebels started, and the friend that Barris mentioned was Quinlan Vos, because I don't think she would've reconnected with Ahsoka considering their past. Vos, however, would've understood the principal of why Barris did what she did. The other thing, did the parents of the child remind anyone of someone from Rebels? I know the baby doesn't have blue eyes, but imagine them changing over time, and you have Ezra Bridger.
As for her aged appearance, when you heal someone you use a bit of your Force energy to remove disease, or heal a wound, drawing the energy out of your body and replacing it in theirs. Barris must've healed dozens, if not over a hundred people by the time we saw her in the third episode. That would've been a decent reason why the Jedi kept that particular skill held back, because Jedi would've sacrificed themselves just to heal the Galaxy at large.

She would not reconnect with Ahsoka? Thats bull. Of course they would. The friend is clearly mentioned as SHE and an old friend. So Ahsoka makes the most sense, Ventress or Cere are possible candidates but nothing like "old" friends.

I wasn't sure from the dialogue if Lyn saved her, or just with "I'm going to get you out of here." wanted to prevent her body from being left in that maze.
This is the first reaction I've watched to the last episode, so maybe others were more certain about her fate, but it seemed ambiguous for me at least.
I'm pretty sure Barris lived, but the non-certainty of it rubbed me a little the wrong way. I wish we had a few more shots/scenes of that last episode.
