This is my moment to say, "Um, Actually...there _is_ an ocean on Coruscant." Well, a sea, anyway...the Great Western Sea. In Legends continuity ti was the only body of water still visible on Coruscant, and in canon continuity it supposedly is a long way from the Jedi Temple. But it is there, and I would expect the children learn about it the same way we learn about our own oceans and seas in geography class. I would expect, too, that being in touch as they are with the living Force, they might even take a field trip there to learn about the sea life.

I believe Mae saw Indara use the force to save the woman she threw off the balcony, that told her how distract her from the fight at hand.. as they said later, everyone has a weakness
If true rhat if get more seasons they will do time jumps. So each season will get closer to events of phantom menace. Fans hope by then we see a young palpatine and possibly plaguis. If so then the finale should be palpatine fully joins the senate and his grand scheme begins.
Thank you for being true fans. It's so nice to hear someone NOT complain that there was fire in space. Who gives a crap? Your appreciation of the practical effects, the score, and the new stuff introduced is refreshing. Keep up the great work!
Solid start to an intriguing series. Loved the heavy practical alien presence, choreography, fast pacing and the shrouded mysteries already enveloped in the overall plot. I could nitpick on the CGI of that ship crash but that’s a very very minor tiniest criticism. I look forward to the entire series and we are in a privileged golden aged time to receive so much visual SW lore content! Regarding Indara’s lack of precognition: The one thing that jumps out at me is Yoda’s quote about the Dark Side clouding everything. The Acolyte takes place a scant 100 years before then, and as the Jedi grow more complacent, weaker almost, the Sith and other Dark Side factions are on the rise. I’d like to believe Indara’s not sensing the second knife is kind of a combination of the Jedi hubris and arrogance that leads to their downfall, as well as a sign of their diminishing power in the face of the Dark Side.
i also recommend Blind Wave. They do Star Wars reactions on their second channel called Wave Squadron. Very smart, zero toxicity and very big fans of Star Wars and the lore too!
@@Nalpha I've said that before there - they're not toxic, but they do have moments where they go "I didn't like that as much", they just try not to hammer on negativity. I already posted this comment lots of places, I know (including the discord and on the patreon vid), so forgive me, but I want to say again: Sol is already one of my favorite Jedi of all time, and I absolutely love the way they’re portraying Yord as more akin to prequel era Jedi: vain, a little arrogant, possibly corruptible, and quick to violence and drawing his saber every chance he gets, in stark contrast with more wise, peacekeeping Jedi like Indara and Sol.
This! Really diggin Sol. What a great actor Lee Jung-jae is! I generally like the show more than I expected. They took some lessons from Andor: no BS, nice screenplay, overall really nice.
TBH I read him mostly as young, inexperienced, edgy... Indara is more in line with the falling Jedi order, vain, aloof, arrogant... And probably pretty rigid. If anything the Jedi got even more rigid and were at odds with the more brash guys like Qui-Gon :)
Important point in this episode. It deals with loss and how it affects each person in particular the twin sisters and their path after that loss. Sol the best character already but really not looking forward to his fate from what we know later in the Star Wars universe. If I get another season of Sol I’d be onboard for that at least

The cyborg guy's design reminds me of Jerec from Dark Forces 2, the way his eyes look. Is he possibly a memeber of the same near-human-but-without-eyeballs race as Jerec?
I love that they don't mess around with Master Sol doubting Osha. She says she didn't do it and that Mae is alive, and he knows her well enough to know (at least she believes) that it's true. I think Master Indara knows the second knife is coming and that it'll be a kill shot, but looking at her face in the moment, she's making a choice to save the barkeep instead of herself. I know from the trailers that we'll see more of her in flashbacks showing the traumatic event that was covered up by the four Jedi that leads to Osha joining the order. Watching your reactions to this reminds me of how I feel when I rewatch something cool with a friend who hasn't seen it. So even though you guys have seen these already, thanks for sitting through it again with us and still being so excited to share it with your viewers.
Beside the story and characters, I love how the show made it look 'old' - The Droids and computer screens and all that look and feel 'lower' tech then the Skywalker timeline. Hard to do in a high tech fantasy worlds.

I appreciate that you guys still did a reaction to this even know you’ve already seen it ❤ I really enjoyed these two episodes looking forward to seeing what happens next!!! May the force be with you both 💛
Right before your reaction started, I was able to figure out what I originally thought was a problem with the story. Early on, Yord mentions the death of Osha's sister, and then later seems surprised when Sol mentions her sister. I realised his surprise is that Mae was left out of the Jedi records, not that she existed. Osha would've told Yord about her family when they were at the Temple.
Thank you Kyle and Bendu!!! I am loving this series so far and thankful for reactions like yours that are so positive! I just still love me some Star Wars!!!!❤❤❤❤
Anybody else get "Airplane" vibes when the prison ship's pilots fold up into pilot seats? In both cases, the autopilot mode occupies the pilot seat(s) when engaged.
I always love your reactions guys, but I liked this one because, as has been mentioned, you actually enjoy new SW stuff. I've seen "breakdown" videos where the guys trash the show like they did with other shows. I like the show so far, so it's a bit annoying when some guys completely trash it just because they had I don't know what kind of expectations. Good work as always guys!
I love how Pip is a cross between BD-1 and a cassette player 🤣 (Also, I think that Indara /did/ see it coming and made a Decision, microanalyze her face journey..*mumbles* ep2 *mumbles*)
I enjoyed both episodes. Some of it did feel a little stunted and they chose kind of weird moments to end each episode, it feels like this is supposed to be one continuous movie or something, but I'm hooked. Mae / Osha are both great, I'm fascinated to find out more. And I absolutely love Mae's costume design and how she fights.

It's amazing seeing the High Republic Jedi and world in live action. I was just replaying Jedi Survivor recently and really loved that aspect of the story, so this show feels so complimentary. They did a good job of making these Jedi and this world feel different from the prequels.
hey kyle happy belated birthday! I'm glad this show dropped on your birthday, a sick gift This drew me right in the second Mae walked into that outpost tavern and wanted Indara to fight her The mystery is juicy, the characters are becoming my new favorites (yes even Yord) and the lore is getting thicker with info that I never even knew I wanted! I can't wait to see how this unfolds!
My first time watching I believed Mae was one person with some kind of mental disorder causing her to black out and turn evil (assuming most people thought that), then of course we find out about her sister 👏
I initially assumed she was a Manchurian Candidate. Then when they mentioned Mae I thought Osha had developed dissociative identity disorder to keep Mae alive in some way.
22:05 Actually I think it's just a force vision for Osha. Because we see in the 2nd episode that Mae doesn't know that Osha is alive so it can't be them connecting through the force otherwise Mae would know that Osha is alive like Osha knows that Mae is alive.
Really enjoyed your reaction, esp. given the drama some other channels stir :) As for "Why didn't she see the knife"? Again hubris, underestimating her opponent and too much focus on one thing. I mean why didn't Jedi sense the Order 66?
Leia didn't come back from her space swim like: "Hey you guys, you can still hear everything out there!" I'm a pedantic hater. Osha tanked a planetary re-entry impact. Did she learn that at space-firefighter academy? It's always the failed opportunity that hits hardest with these efforts. My suggestion scene: She's strapped in to her chair when she glances at a untethered mech-nic crate... unlocks it with her Swiss Army droid.... Yay a spacesuit, a star-warsie helmet, and some mag-boots! The ship's breaking up... osha struggles on the ''wing'' surfing atmosphere like it's Dark Star... a leap of faith (the force?)... Some free fall... a cool parachute... big shot of flaming inferno as she floats onto a desolate planet. More drama? Do the damaged chute trope and high speed impact into snow. She's got a sprained ankle oh no, and the Jedi save her from hungry space Yeti. Yes still ridiculous, but It connects her skillset to survival. It's epic, and It's narrowly plausible. But no, just ignore the campfire in space. It looks like her burned childhood trauma ok. duh.
Who needs an autopilot when your chair can become a droid 😆 4 times, saw your tour of Lucasfilm, didn't realize you both got invited to another little bonus. That's awesome, congrats to both of you. I am already so in love with this show, see you on the next one!
My only issue with the show so far is some of the comedy did not land for me but besides that I've enjoyed the first 2 episodes and it has a great hook regarding whatever this Sith plot is along with the fire backstory. A solid start and I hope it only gets better from here
Yes! My favorite two humans are back with yet another reaction to yet another Star Wars series! I loved this episode. I appreciate y'all so much and your thoughts/perspective/theories. Looking forward to hearing from you guys during The Acolyte.
My favorite part of the show so far is the mystery tone. The idea of Jedi being put to the test. Will their code be a strength or a “weakness.” The sith and their allies are trying to exploit it to their advantage. My favorite characters: Sol and his padawan. Sol is awesome. Reminds me of Chow Yun Fat’s character. She’s got a bit of Ahsoka’s energy and has a bit of sol’s compassion. But she also believes in the rules to a degree. The score is so unique while also being similar to the mystery elements from The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones particularly when Obi wan is pursuing leads on Jango and Kamino.
This show and everything in it is amazing and Kyle I’m so jealous you got to go to the red carpet Hollywood world premiere of The Acolyte, that’s so awesome
The truth is that I loved it, I remember back in 2021 when the High Republic came out, youtubers and pseudo fans mocked and bastardized that time of the saga and what was coming out without having read absolutely anything... I included myself looking askance at buying the first novel And now that I've read almost everything, missing nothing more than a young adult novel and three comics, I think it's the best thing that's come out of the saga in a long time... and the series is going to be just as incredible
Yep. Went into THR (when it kicked off) with hope but also mild trepidation. Then Light of the Jedi happened and was one of my fav SW books (& I've read every legends & canon novel/short story/comic) IMMEDIATELY. it's new, fresh, can go anywhere & try anything, & it has. it's also planned out AF & those who constantly cry about SW kinda harp on that a bit, so you'd think they'd be happy about that but no, cos there are StROng WiMmIn & diverse mindsets, they automatically don't like that/them. 🤣🤣 they're more easily offended than fkn tr*mp supporters fgs. 🤣🤣😬😬
I came here because I was honestly curious about people liking that show. Turns out our expectations and standards on a Star Wars show are vastly different. I won't judge and accept things as they are, having learn that you guys actually exists. Now I will go back to my galaxy, far far away.
While I can agree that most channels might be going to hard on some minor stuff and likely wanted to hate it. I also cant imagine calling the writing in this show thus far any thing better than spectacularly mediocre in my opinion. It’s a problem for me.
What level of irredeemable am I that I got excited at the sight of Neimoidians and the mention of the Trade Federation? I really am the Glup Shitto person for Phantom Menace stuff.
"It wasn't until they crashed but I'm getting real Swtor vibes" Hmm, I'm getting Swtor flashbacks 😀 ruclips.net/video/eka7oqr3CSk/видео.htmlsi=VohZEPpysW7UtVnW&t=19 Ah HK-51, what trials and tribulations we had to got through to get you as a companion 😱😵😎
Arguably if you're viewing chronologically, you could start with Young Jedi Adventures since it takes place in 235 BBY, roughly a hundred years before this. That's if you can stomach sitting through a Star Wars show written for pre-schoolers.
6:47 Yes indeed ^^ That Star Wars feeling is right there 🙂 Composer did very nice work & i look forward to hearing more of his talent as season goes on 🙂 Lee Jung's dedication for the role is pure goodiness. WHOO-HOOO!!!! Been waiting for a kriffing reaction between you and Bendu for the whole day, and it’s finally here. You and blind wave are the real deal when it comes the new show, and your honest to god reviews are the reason why I love the franchise, acknowledging the flaws and positives. Keep it up. The fight choreography is like matrix meets Crouching tiger hidden dragon.
We saw Qui-Gon use the Force to calm Jar-Jar in the bongo through the Naboo planet core trip -- Jar-Jar falls unconscious and Obi-Wan says, "You overdid it."
Ok. So I just watched the first 2 episodes of this show and I thought it's time to go look for reactions. And I scrolled my search feed to find you guys because you've become the first ones I look for for Star Wars reactions. I have questions. I'll reserve some for the next ep to not spoil anyone. For now, I was just wondering what that monologue at the very end means? Was that a Sith in the distance who was training Mae? What does it mean that there's 'a dream all Jedi believe'? And what's this idea that the acolyte will or should(?) kill a jedi without weapons? What does that mean? Disillusionment? Break the Jedi down by demoralization?
Love the clone wars introduction voice reading the opening lines! First two episodes were epic! Really like Master Sol one of my new favorite characters!
You said you think Qui Gon Jinn is a "holdover" or like spiritual successor to this past iteration of the Jedi has me thinking. Count Dooku was like over 100 when he died. If he was ~10 when he joined the order he'd have learned directly from these same Jedi, along with his Master, Yoda. Perhaps he taught his padawan a lot of the same.
"Think of diving into a great ocean"
Padawan on Coruscant: "What's an ocean?"
🤣😭
Sol: A place where squid lives...
This is my moment to say, "Um, Actually...there _is_ an ocean on Coruscant." Well, a sea, anyway...the Great Western Sea. 22:05 Actually I think it's just a force vision for Osha. Because we see in the 2nd episode that Mae doesn't know that Osha is alive so it can't be them connecting through the force otherwise Mae would know that Osha is alive like Osha knows that Mae is alive.
Such a refreshing series, love the high republic is finally getting adapted to the screen
04:25 Carrie-Anne Moss. Thank you. Those other guys didn`t notice that.
Really enjoyed your reaction, esp. given the drama some other channels stir :)
As for "Why didn't she see the knife"? Again hubris, underestimating her opponent and too much focus on one thing. I mean why didn't Jedi sense the Order 66?
Leia didn't come back from her space swim like: "Hey you guys, you can still hear everything out there!"
I'm a pedantic hater.
It looks like her burned childhood trauma ok. duh.
The “good twin” gonna kill her “bad twin” and become the bad twin. Qimir is sus.
"It's Lobot, but all bot." LOL
Hibot!
Who needs an autopilot when your chair can become a droid 😆
4 times, saw your tour of Lucasfilm, didn't realize you both got invited to another little bonus.
they're more easily offended than fkn tr*mp supporters fgs. 🤣🤣😬😬
One of the things I missed in other Star Wars films and shows are the names of the planets.
This is the reaction I been waiting for
For some reason watching this gave me a "Saved by the bell" vibe.
What level of irredeemable am I that I got excited at the sight of Neimoidians and the mention of the Trade Federation? I really am the Glup Shitto person for Phantom Menace stuff.
"It wasn't until they crashed but I'm getting real Swtor vibes"
Hmm, I'm getting Swtor flashbacks 😀 ruclips.net/video/eka7oqr3CSk/видео.htmlsi=VohZEPpysW7UtVnW&t=19
Ah HK-51, what trials and tribulations we had to got through to get you as a companion 😱😵😎
Master Sol to Osha is what Qui-Gon would've been to Anakin. Sol will be one of the best SW characters by the end of the season. Guaranteed.
He learned more English for this & the way he speaks at certain situations is a la Bueno 🙂 Jord is nice character & slight smile that Jecki gave to Osha when in Jedi Ship was cool 🙂 Gonna restream first two episodes before third arrives on next wednesday. Doing via "65 Led Telly to wind-down at evenings 🙂
I have Forever Sub to Disney+. I sincerely give 8/10 to The Acolyte after first 2x episodes. Later i'll add them to couple websites & blog post 🙂 Leslye stated interest of working with Star Wars Live act show based on Knights of The Old Republic era. I'm all in for it as she's a talented director & not bad writer 🙂
One of my favorite Star Wars reactors along Louise Julie.
Yes! Kyle and Bendu are great! Louise Julie is awesome...love her!!
What's up with the blue letters at the opening instead of the classic crawl?
The comment about the person who has the most dangerous illegal job in the galaxy being named Osha was hilarious.
Obi-wan was the standard of Force atrophy from the early episodes of Kenobi.
I think the dream is the false sense of invulnerability many regard the Jedi as being
Glad to be back boys
Good to see you were as hyped as I was when I noticed the Selkath
Sol = Qui-Gon
Yord = Obi-Wan (Ep.1, specifically)
Mae = Anakin
Love the clone wars introduction voice reading the opening lines!
First two episodes were epic! Really like Master Sol one of my new favorite characters!
Also the Swiss army droid pip is my new favorite droid of all time
When you were with Dave Filoni , did you get to talk Star Wars?
Seems ok so far.
