I’m gen Z but I read Heir to the Empire when I was like 8 or 9 and was blown away. I know lots of Rebels fans are pumped but I felt like that line was for old school extended universe elitists like myself lol. Been quietly hoping and waiting for over half of my life for this. I don’t love what’s been done with Star Wars since Disney bought it, especially because they tried to trash all those EU novels I loved so much. This feels like it might be a turning point, guess we’ll have to wait and see!

A big salute to those who knew Thrawn's ship is named Chimera. Those are the true fans. I live alone and even I shouted out loud it's name when i saw it. 32 years it's been since Grand Admiral Thrawn was introduce in Heir to the Empire. I never thought I'd see the day he would grace the screen. Heck I was satisfied with his appearance in Rebels. This was almost too much.
I remember thinking when Sabine sees the temple shake "It would be funny if that was the Chimaera coming up over the horizon. Nah, it's just wishful thinking, we probably won't see Thrawn yet." And then a moment later there was that beautiful scale shot of the Chimaera looming over the Nightsister Temple. Thrawn sure loves his entrances. What a way to introduce him to new fans and give us older fans something to geek out about. If anything, I'm just really happy that the majority of Star Wars fans will know who Thrawn is now. There aren't many fans who have read the books where I live.
When Thrawn was revealed in Rebels trailer I squealed like a little girl. My hubby looked at me like I was crazy then understood because his favorite character (my second favorite after Thrawn) is Kreia.
I have been a huge Star Wars fan since I saw Return of the Jedi in theatres as a kid. I bought the Timothy Zahn books when they first came out, and Grand Admiral Thrawn instantly became my favorite Star Wars character ever. I never thought I would ever see him in real life. Needless to say, I am geeking out of my ever-loving mind right now.
I remember reading the Thrawn Trilogy as a kid in the 90s and hoping I would see live action Thrawn someday. He's one of my favourite characters and my favourite antagonist in SW. Like you, I've waited a long time for this. And they absolutely knocked it out of the park in terms of how they portrayed Thrawn. It was like seeing the character from the book leap off the pages onto the screen seamlessly. Made me feel like a little girl again reading the books...and I was grinning ear to ear the entire time he was on screen. This was perfect.
Lars and Mads Mikkelsen. Two of the greatest actors on the planet. They should’ve given Mads a much bigger role than Galen Erso though, even though he was phenomenal.
Lars really is underrated. He's a good documentary narrator/ host too! He hosted a documentary about Denmark's history like 6 years ago give or take and he was great at it.

That scene where the Chimaera approached would've looked so awesome in a movie theater, the same way the Star Destroyer appeared in the original Star Wars in 1977.

The condition of the Chimera and the Troopers shows how hard it was being in a different galaxy with no way to resupply, or even have valid currency, was for the duration of their absence. If not for Thrawn's leadership, they probably would have died out there.
The guy that said "OH NOO ITS THRAWN" and this girl just goes "fuuck" had me laughing like they were actually scared lol. This episode is absolute fire i cant wait to see Thrawn whoop the heros ass thus setting up the heir to the empire movie.

I would have had Snoke be Plageuis and Hux replaced with Thrawn. The two encountered each other in the unknown regions as Thrawn was making his way back to The Galaxy and they formed an alliance
I'll be honest, I'd buy up a Thrawn figure, an Enoch figure and a few Night Trooper figures when they come out. This was a hell of a way to do a character reveal, let alone 3 new characters to the Ahsoka series in the same scene. I can't wait to see how things pan out in the next couple of episodes

I can't imagine Eli not being in on the plan unless the Chiss Ascendancy is in rough shape after Thrawn's disappearance. And they could give Eli his own action figure as well.

My theory is that things are going badly in the Chiss Ascendancy since Thrawn has vanished. Lars did say that the last Thrawn scene sets up his motivations in a way that is supposed to shock the audience. So, I really hope they go with Thrawn trying to unite the Empire against the Yuuzhan Vong or Grysk threat. There have been hints at it: especially with Beylan saying that they're doing this for the Greater Good (this is the name of a Thrawn book) and the hint of Thrawn and the Nightsisters wanting to leave due to a larger threat. I really can't see them ignoring Eli if that happens. Though personally, I wouldn't complain if they did a one-off Ascendancy series to give people more of a view of just how terrible and brutal the War in the Unknown Regions is for Thrawn's people.

Perfect (re)introduction to my favorite Star Wars villain: - Lars’ voice is once again perfect. Calm yet menacing. And his first line is 🔥 - I like that the Chimera resembles its name, has the same Star Destroyer shape but the gold replacement parts show it morphing into a ship cobbled together from multiple to become one. - I like how in the hanger background there’s the Imperial gunships from the animated shows and video games. - Night Troopers’ armor looks like the original concept art for stormtrooper armor for The Mandalorian’s first season. Glad they reused that concept art here. - Captain Enoch does look great, particularly how his helmet’s “face” evokes ancient Roman gladiator and centurion helmets. That said he could go one of two ways moving forward, #1 he’s the new Phasma and doesn’t live up to the hype or #2 he takes Rukh’s role in the Thrawn books. I prefer #2. - Speaking of Thrawn books, I hope after the finale Lucasfilm announces a new Thrawn book(s) written by Timothy Zahn that chronicles Thrawn and Ezra’s time on this death world
I think the main problem is, they are different. Thrawn use his intelligence for war and combat, while musk use his intelligence to start Tesla and space x.
If anyone ever watches stargate the movie, the commercials had the same type of introduction with that gold face guy as they did with in that movie teaser trailer.
I didn’t wanna blink my eyes once Thrawn star destroyer ship. His storm troopers looks more evil-looking (in good way) than Darth Vader storm troopers! They are so badass!!! 👍 Ezra got me speechless, thanks for sure! Thrawn’s Star Destroyer is a Imperial Class II you can tell the difference between a I and Ii by the giant cross beam on top of the ship between the shield generator balls, you can see the difference on images.
One of the most dangerous people to ever serve the Emperor. I will be cheering Thrawn on throughout the series. The look, the voice, the elegance and commanding power of his presence, he is precisely how I imagined he’d be in live action. Go Thrawn, go!
Something is srsly wrong with Thrawn. I dont just mean that hes physically different, hes changed. He's wearing a frayed imperial outfit, his troops are zombies and hes fully involved in dark magicks. Peridea has a hold on him, and it couldnt be more ominous with all the statues and the barren landscape. He knows this, and so does Baylan. Thats why he wants to escape, to get his soul back
Thrawns return is by far better than even Lukes showing in Mandalorian. Since i read Trawn trilogy i always want live action Trawn, my dream came true! THANK YOU FILONI, THANK YOU!!!!

But just to me it is inconceivable how Thrawn and Ezra are still alive? But how the heck do you survive in space with the ship's windows broken, without pressurization? Thrawn is a good character, but the return in "Ahsoka" is completely nonsensical, as is 3/4 of that series.
Dark Ezra is best Ezra. There. I said it. Change my mind. Making his vest out of dog tags is def something Ezra would do. We know he's got a long history of tapping into the dark side to get a job done.

He's wearing a frayed imperial outfit, his troops are zombies and hes fully involved in dark magicks. Peridea has a hold on him, and it couldnt be more ominous with all the statues and the barren landscape. He knows this, and so does Baylan. Thats why he wants to escape, to get his soul back

Thrawn is a good character, but the return in "Ahsoka" is completely nonsensical, as is 3/4 of that series.
