  • In this video I'm discussing six specific things that it took me a few months of searching to find out about Goldilocks Mastectomy. The Goldilocks procedure is a new procedure that is widely variable from surgeon to surgeon and it pays to do some work before choosing a plastic surgeon. My comfort in discussing obesity comes as a result of the fact that I'm a nutritionist and this is a condition that I deal with weekly in my practice. Forgive me if I seem desensitized to this sensitive term. The good news is, a goldilocks mastectomy is now available to women who have a lower BMI, in most major cities across the US.

I admire you so much for doing this series. I had a mastectomy😊 about 7 years on my left side and was told nothing about goldilocks or anything else. I had dcis too. I would like to have a mastectomy on my other side, but I am now 78 years old and it may not be a good idea.

Yes, Goldilocks is very new. I have had no regrets about giving up my healthy breast. It’s been six months now for me. Hope you’ll get to do it if you are healthy. My mom had an easy breast cancer surgery at 89, so maybe?

Thank you for your information. I'm learning a lot from you.
BRCA1 positive, considering prophylactic mastectomy and goldilocks reconstruction. Don't know where to start... who to trust...

Is goldilocks only possible for C cup and above?

No, you can use a smaller amount of extra skin to fill in the concave spot on your side, under the arms. Any amount is useful in my view!
