@@mikewest712 the new adjustable motor mount is an issue. Couldn't keep the motor stationary and caused my slipper gear to strip out. Replaced it with the 4s steel slipper and it came loose again even with lock tight, broke the pinion gear. The shocks were 1/4 to 1/2 full of oil. Once that was all figured out, I lost a wheel when the grub screw came out of the rear wheel axel... All that is replaced now. I have replaced the esc as it would constantly overheat and shut down. Luckily I had a BLX 120 laying around. Its running really well now. Its been quite the headache. Not sure if I will buy an arrma for a while. They definitely have some quality control issues.
Please update they fixed the seal of the power module. it was the only real design flaw of the previous versions, i fixed mine with gorilla tape, but god knows how many motors went bad for the majority who didnt took the effort to seal it.
I've had my granite about three weeks now... What a disappointment. No oil in shocks, spur gear stripped on first run from the motor coming loose from its "adjustable" motor plate, pinion gear broke on next run. My unit does run hotter than my Kraton (not sure of actual temp, but too hot to touch) and drive shaft on rear broke yesterday. I have yet to be able to even run a full pack through it. Its been on the work bench more than 90% of the time since I received it.
I'm waiting for a 1/5 sized granite with plastic chassis. I already have an Outcast 8s. Are they using bearings instead of plastic bushings on the steering rack now?
Hey Razor do you think that it is a good idea to put a hole through the chassis under the pinion to let dirt out. I know some people do but I'm not sure if it helps or makes it worse
I bought the mega version a while back and it was horrible. The electronics kept turning off due to the heat buildup. It doesn't have fans on the esc or motor and it got superhot. I put in a small brushless 2s system with a fan on the esc. It's much better now but the motor still gets freakin hot though. I hope yours does better. :)
for that price I think they should have placed some more metal accessories!!!! plastic drive shaft? That might last a couple of weeks with a brushless motor in it?
@@thathobbyguy6135 the blx 185 esc is a little big. I have one of the radio box screws and a zip tie to hold it down. Motor is direct fit. And I strap in 2 3s 30c spektrum smart batteries. The 2 3s barely take more space than the 4s I initially ran. I am going to put the blx120 and 4s motor in the Granite. Not sure if I will run it too hard on 4s, but should be fun!

In Canada, over a $200 difference between this and the Hoss - thanks Arrma for making my choice simple! The truck Traxxas shoulda/coulda built!
The Hoss has the same motor as the Maxx bye bye Granite!EDIT! Actually probably not true what i said if anything more low end torque.

@Lua Dipa Yep because of the Pandemic and the cars being made in China. Arrma 4s models are out of production until March 2021.

The motor mount issue was it wasn’t cut right and they never fixed it so you ate spurs on the 20t pinion models

You’d be surprised the center shaft and even the plastic axles hold up really well and for how cheap the car is I wouldn’t complain
I have a 4s kraton upgraded to a blx185 system running 6s and it all holds up to serious bashing... It's the same plastic drivetrain.

Yes, but you will have to do a thorough cleaning and drying if you drive in snow.
