Good one Tomely. That's awesome. So many people complain about the Granite rolling over all the time. This seems like a great upgrade. Thanks for including the part numbers. 👍👍
Again, great video looks badass. The skate park edit was spot on with music in the background, and you can hear the wide beast. Like when you can here the RC with the music. I hope the win Have a good week
Nice build. I used the arms off of my wide big rock. Not as wide but noticeably wider with better handling than out of the box. Great channel! Great content! 🫡
It close to a notorious V1 4s. The Arrma mega/3s platform can be transformed into any style with a mix of components. I’ve been doing this since I got into the hobby about 5 years ago. What a flash back thank you for sharing 😄🍻
That modification is absolutely worth it for the smiles and fun! Keep dialing in the suspension and travel then bash away. I was smiling the whole time you drove it. Now remember, you can take turns much faster now so a race may need to be in a future video. I'm still using the 4S V1 drive shafts. Maybe that is why I don't have the rubbing you do? Replacing the 3S parts that usually fail with stronger 4S parts makes the modification a good one. I use mine 5 days a week. With regular preventative maintenance it just keeps going. The poor thing regularly hits hidden stumps, wash out ruts, and bricks hidden in grass. I drive it up street curbs at an angle a lot too. The truck keeps on going. Yes, I do get paid to do this. It's nice to get away from the desk, go outside and drive the R/C truck. You get to clear your head and come back into the office in a better frame of mind.
@@marktsarenko3943, yes, a portion of my job is to use a modified Big Rock (this super wide alteration) along with a Proboat Aerotrooper to deter geese from areas rented out for events. @Tomley RC love the build man! Awesome stuff...having bashed around with it, you think the ZD racing shocks are the best option? Wanting to do this to my Vorteks
That's awesome Phil, love my granite, probably my most used rc next to my capra. Mine also has wide arms but not as extreme as yours, lol. Great video, thanks for sharing. John
This is a fun project and you created a truck that will be difficult to roll over on sharp turns. That is a big plus when you're by yourself. Very creative.
It’s cool I like it. You should do the wing conversion and add the Traxxas roof skid plate. Then maybe try to find some solid cv axles shafts to be safe. Also I thought about doing the 120 amp esc and 4s motor setup too. Now what would be wild is if you could get some kind of trailing arm sand rail like stretched out the back setup so the rear set back further and was more reactive with like a solid axle. It reaches the price point though that maybe then I should just by a different RC lol 😂. That’s very cool though. Try some big wide street tires and a 4s though. Might fly.
Just have to add the 4S upper diff housings to get the taller towers. Then the longer shocks will fit this better. I did this for a customer on his Big Rock and went with all the arms, shocks and upper bulkheads to make it work well!
that is awesome Phil its like a cheap tekno mt410 now lol very awesome looks like ya need a bit shorter shock throw id use some rc nitro fuel line on the shock shaft inside so they cant extend the whole way. I have tose same shocks on a ofna hyper7 electric conversion i did and no matter how tight the spring rate was way to sofe so i mixed up a batch of some 60wt shock oil and some 10k diff fluid there perfect now lol
Hi all, I have been out of the RC scene since the Grasshopper was new, the first time around 😬🤣, can anyone recommend any forums, where I can learn and ask questions please? Thanks 👍😊

🙋🏻♂️ Hello there Phil I'm love the video and what a great and nice car man 👌🏽and I'm also really ✊🏽 happy for you yes yeeeees yeeees 😄 great video again and I thank you for that, thanks.
Surely you meant, 470mm, not 47mm? Back in the day, before 3d printing, and multiple platforms running interchangeable parts, I had a King Cab that I wanted to make wider! My dad turned me some wooden doughnuts that I stuck between 2 stick Tamiya King Can wheels, and I fitted them to it, making it, kind of dual, dualies?! It never turned over, but didn't go too fast, but it looked awesome!! 😎👍🏻 The Granite looks the nuts!! 😎👍🏻
Hi buddy about 2 months ago I broke my V2 4s kraton chassis in half and it was just normal bash and are still unable to get a new one in Australia so I put a big rock chassis in it. it's only 27mm shorter than the kraton chassis to this day it's stood up to hard bashing like my big rock so it's staying like that I call it a rock kraton as always buddy your videos are awesome cheers 👍👌🤙
Hey whats up!! love the channel, just wanted to reach out and say thanks for all the content quite amazing! I was wondering though, with a setup like this i wonder if there is a way to get a wider shock tower so you can mount 2 shocks per arm? would be awesome to see!!
I been thinking about making a off rod infraction 8s. Use the fireteam parts on it but keep infraction chassis do i can put each battery in each side will it work
I think the arrma 6s shocks fit the arrma 3s cars. I got the same one I put a typhoon wing on it bolts strait on just need to cut a bit out of body shell, I upgraded the rear diff to metal gear too.
🤪😲 A really crazy built! I think it is tooooo much. I put the typhon 3s arms on my granite since a couple of month and it is the perfect match in my opinion for that little tough rig 👌😜
If it looks stupid but it's fun, it ain't stupid. I'd be worried about the long arms letting the bottom of the tires go higher than the bottom of the body, let it plough into the ground on landing. Have you considered bump stops? Maybe O-rings on the shock shaft to limit compression? But the turn-in demo on the skate park looked amazing. That thing must be a rock.
need the kraton/outcast 4s bulkheads, they are wider at the shock mounts, standing the shocks up straighter. just use granite body mounts to use granite body.
Love it, awesome build, wonder what it would be like on paddles on sand, and whether it would be any good as a "pond skipper" (Bit like Cleetus did with the Xmaxx but not at sea ! )

Nice rig mate!!! I had the same drive shafts problem with some other cars, I wanted More ground clearence, so i went for larger shocks, in my case It was metal diff cups and driveshafts but still, the problem comes in the joint of the diff cup with the driveshaft, I been thinking maybe if I make the diff cup shorter It could work, in your case i dont know mate cause those plastic driveshafts seem to be actually touching the a arms, so maybe you could try some metal ones, much More thiner than the plastic ones, any way It looks great Man cheers, happy weekend!!

Awesome build! You put that Granite instead of the speed demon for the raffle and I'll enter! Have no use for on road stuff unfortunately. Really wondering how a big rock might perform with these mods.

I would love to see a full build video on this truck. Fully upgrading everything. Turning it into the absolute ultimate basher

I love the way Arrma parts are interchangeable. That's a great feature.
I was disappointed with the way the Granite always rolls over, unlike the big rock. Another great video ‼️ 👍👍🤘🤘🦾🦾

Great truck, nice build. Just to be clear, those measurements on your purple table mat are centimeters, not millimeters 😊. Keep up the great vids!
Haha… oh yeah 😂… it would be pretty small if it was in mm
Get the shock towers from the v2 outcast should help in the travel. Cool build!!!👍😎
Thanks for adding excitement back into Rc creation ❤

I thought about doing this to my granite a long time ago. Love that thing. Mine is quite upgraded and is now 4s.

Awesome stuff. If it works it wasn't stupid. The Monster Beetle has a similar issue when the suspension is fully extended. Referred to as juddering.
