It took me awhile to develop the habit of "cleanup is part of the meal." Now my kitchen closes by 7pm and I'm loving it! A neighbor turned me on to DIN: do it now, it'll be done, then there is time for fun. Another says she gets many things done during commercials. Cleaning as you go also helps.

I'm like that myself. Who wants to start the day with a Messy Kitchen.

After I use something I put it back in it designated place. In this way I don't need to deal with the mess around the house, I just clean and that's all. I love your ideas, they inspire me to be better. 💜

I need to work on cleaning my kitchen before bed. I'm pretty much tapped out after dinner and want to do nothing but I regret it every morning

I also follow rule number 5. My kitchen is open concept similar to yours and it’s a big negative start to my day if it’s a mess.

I do like to clean as I go. I came from a home where there was no structure or financial stability.
I would like to fine tune whatever I can to develop this lifestyle. Spending money has always been an addiction behavior, to me.
What you’re teaching is so valuable to live well

i like your “2 minute” example for seeing how much you can accomplish in a short amount of time- i am always suprised how much I can get done in a set amount of time- it’s typically alot more than I thought.
i’m enjoying your channel so much!! i came across your channel yesterday and i’ve just been a sponge absorbing so many tid bits of information. thanks so much!!!! you’re a gem 💎 .

Don't buy what you don't need, you won't have a clutter problem... spend on needs not wants. Simple as that.

Oosh two videos in one week, I could get used to that.
One of the rules I like to apply to my life is simply to create a habit of doing it that way it just becomes automatic but if it doesn't get done it will defiantly get done the next day.

Someone once said to me " how come you dont clean up?
    I said "because I don't make a mess"
    I tidy as I go.

To avoid rule no: 5, when working late nights, just get takeout. No kitchen duty for the next day; and/or if you are sleeping in. The 2 min rule is good, but I often do multiple things at a time that I don't want to do, i.e. start a load of laundry, while dinner is cooking (also cook for two days, instead of one), or fold clean laundry while I'm watching TV, etc. Also, while watching TV, I will read any snail mail that I might get, as well as answering emails, too.
This way, several items are done and accomplished.

I set timers for everything. Even taking a shower.
Right now I'm going to empty the dishwasher. For some reason, I hate that job!
it should take less than 5 minutes.

When loading the dirty dishes, keep in mind to load similar size dishes, bowls, butter knives, spoons,… in same area or row instead of scatter them all over the racks. This would make unload a lot quicker and easier. You’ll thank me later.😊

I don’t like unloading the dishwasher either and putting dishes away. I haven’t used my dishwasher yet. I hand wash and enjoy doing it a great deal with extremely hot water & rich dish soap!

I'm currently trying to apply the 2 day rule to a 15 minute yoga routine. I feel better if I do it (eases the arthritis for the day), I feel virtuous if I do it. But my bed is snuggly and warm and just 2 more minutes wouldn't hurt - right? Any advice?

Count down from 5 and when you get to 1 you HAVE to get out of bed.

I totally agree with kitchen habit #5- clean kitchen before bed/ I would add set your dishes out for next meal which you plan with items you will use- if making scrambled eggs and toast and fruit slices and coffee/ get everything you need out on counter in the area you are going to use so you just start cooking when you enter kitchen tip#2 prep food evening before- when you make sandwiches make 2 or 3 / cut in quarters and put in glass storage container in fridge - slice up fruit and veggies and put in separate storage containers in fridge and you have sides for sandwiches or leftovers Tip#3 keep a note book for food items which you update when you use up an item and put in category it belongs in such as Dairy- milk / yogurt/ eggs etc and take list with you when shopping- Nicole - I love your RUclips channel/ keep educating us❤
