I have plenty of money. The best thing about having money isn't spending money, but going to bed at night not worrying about money. That's better than anything I can buy.
Whoa. Hard agree! They've done studies on this - being short of money also starts making you do EVERYTHING short-term. It's like the Vines Boots Theory, but it carries over to your whole life. There was a stretch a few years ago where I shoved everything I could into a few tax-shielded accounts at the end of the year to hit the limits, and cut my bank account really low. That was a nervous week as pay came in and big bills went out within a day of each other.
I noticed as I get older, l seem to deni myself of things I enjoy . Because of money needed for necessities of life . But then I think tomorrow is not guaranteed for any of us. It's a double-edged sword for me .
This year I got my parents a book titled, “Die With Zero”, and it really made an impact on them. Just thought I’d recommend it, since you might get some good out of reading it too. 😊
I’m a bit late but I was really confronted with this when my sister in law passed away before age 40 due to unexpected surgery complications. Life isn’t guaranteed. But she also has almost nothing to her name and what she did have went through probate which was HORRIBLE. Have a will and leave a legacy or have life insurance (she had a dependent, a minor son). It’s a balance to enjoy life at its fullest and also invest for future you to enjoy life at its fullest in older years and have a legacy to give to loved ones and donate to charities you care about.
“No is a complete sentence.” Amen. There’s a guy I work with whose car broke down in MARCH and he still doesn’t have his own ride to work. He used to ask me every day if I could take him home (he lives miles from me, it’s not like it’s even on my way-but that’s not even the point) and the first couple of times I’d say things like, “I’m not going home.” Or “I’m headed in the opposite direction.” Then I remembered that “no” is truly a complete sentence. So any time he asked me after that I just said no. And he finally got the message and doesn’t ask me anymore.
I have dealt with that too. Guy at work had his car repossessed then tried to throw his inconvenience in my lap by getting me to drive him home which was a half hour out of my way. I didn’t want to do it even if he gave me gas money so I said no and didn’t care if he got mad.

Regarding needs vs. wants - I'm not a minimalist by ANY stretch. I've tried it; it drove me nuts. Instead, I try to be a Conscious Maximalist. If I want something, I try to thrift or buy second hand. If I no longer want or use something, I sell it or donate it. I keep my space tidy and clean, and I LIVE by the rule that "everything has a place." Animals are a soft spot for me. We need more kindness overall in this world. Sometimes I walk until I am in a better mood - and sometimes that ends up being a really long walk but it works. I work remotely and in a tiny space right now but planning to change that soon… working on patience.

Love the video but may I make a constructive comment the background music you added was too distracting and made it hard to absorb your message. All love thanks for the content !!
Noted!
A credit card is used because I am in control of my finances, leading to a great credit score. I never purchase anything I can't pay for up front. ❤
At my age If I want to remember something I have to write it down. I use the "notes" part of my cell phone and just say it. It's there (if I remember to look at the notes). LOL
I’m happy to see you next week 😊❤
Liked it, a great video, thank you! ;)
I always like your videos
I pay for everything (including my wife’s new Mercedes) with CASH. No debt not even a mortgage.
