    (For anyone that is interested) I just thought that I would post a small video of a fencing job completed this week (from my fencing facebook page). This is a 65M long section of garden fence with 4 gates installed - 3 access gates and one wide gate for the ride on mower.

    Plan is to build the fencing side of my business and continue with my property related businesses as well for 2021 - see where it takes me......
    Apologies for neglecting youtube recently but will be uploading a lot more videos in future once I get time...........difficult at the moment with home schooling etc etc etc......... :-)
    This was taken from my facebook page, please take a minute and like my page if you can, this will help the fencing side of my business grow / bacrenfencing

    Nice job and nice video - very relaxing. Job looks great and very solid - the gates close so satisfyingly too. Like the music. Good luck with the business for 2021.

    Great video Barry. Lots of detail and I have picked up some good tips for my next project. Have you filmed anything re building composite fences and/or gates? Looked through your library but didn’t come across anything. Cheers.

      Thanks Neil, No I have not filmed anything on composite yet, but I do have a metal gate to make which will be fabricated from scratch and have composite boards inserted. I will try to film that one from scratch if I get time.........it is difficult to balance filming / work because the filming process slows things down considerably, but I need to try and get better and more efficient at filming so that I can produce more content. Thanks for the comment 👍😀

    Really nice job mate 👍 lovely location to be working in. Cant say as much about the weather lol. How do you find your mix setting in thoes conditions ?

    • @Bacrenfencing
      @Bacrenfencing  3 года назад

      Thanks James, I never have an issue with the posts setting in the cold - has to be said that it was not quite as cold when I set the posts. I use postcrete and never have a problem (touch wood). The posts were solid as a rock, a bit over engineered, using 4" posts on a 1M high fence but more robust in my opinion, I rarely use 3" posts.

    • @JamesMontana
      @JamesMontana 3 года назад +1

      @@Bacrenfencing Yeah i only use 4" posts. The extra cost is negligible and only use post mix for the ease but if the ground is frozen it takes a while for it to set. Fine if your leaving it over night though.

    • @Bacrenfencing
      @Bacrenfencing  3 года назад

      I never find that issue with my concrete James, it still sets solid in 10-15 minutes - I now use Postcrete all the time. I used to use Hanson Post fix but found that it did not set quick enough for me. Postcrete is the best I have used out of several I have tried over the years. Have you used Blue Circle Postcrete before ?

    • @JamesMontana
      @JamesMontana 3 года назад

      @@Bacrenfencing yeah its alright. Its expensive and no better than the one i use.

    • @Bacrenfencing
      @Bacrenfencing  3 года назад

      @@JamesMontana I buy it in by the pallet load, so works out a bit cheaper. I just find it takes a grip quicker than the others and makes it easier to set posts, but suppose it is down to individual preference at the end of the day.
      Are you busy just now James ?

    Hi Barry, Great video & very nice job! I'm looking to do a DIY fence and was hoping you could break it down for me a tad. post's first, gravel boards 2nd? or rails 2nd? (newbie question i know) and then slats last? Appreciate any help. Thanks mate!

    • @Bacrenfencing
      @Bacrenfencing  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Matt, Yes, posts first spaced at 1.8M centres (as rails are 3.6M). Next fit the gravel boards, if using wood, raise them slightly off the ground but only about 10mm. Next fit the bottom rail on top of the gravel board and then the top rail. Lastly, fit all the slats to the rails. Good luck with your project ! 👍😎

      @@Bacrenfencing thanks Barry, thats really helpful! Would this be the same process when doing a closeboard fence? And my last question (I promise) how wide is the gap between the slats? Thanks Barry really appreciate your help a fast replies :D

    • @Bacrenfencing
      @Bacrenfencing  3 года назад

      @@mattthornby1851 Yes, pretty much the same process. I tend to use a 20mm gap between slats, you can use the side of a fence board for this as they are usually about 19mm thick - just turn a board on its side and use that. I use a bit of 20mm box section but turning a board on its side will do the same job !
