Today we're putting our finger on the pulse of the Vibe Machine from Dry Bell. The Vibe Machine is the most full-featured authentic, analog Vibe pedal on the market, and as a bonus, it's also one of the smallest. The advanced version 2 contains a host of new features in the form of highly-customizable trimpots, plus tap tempo. These extra controls help adjust the Vibe Machine to fit snugly in your chain no matter what comes before or after it. The classic Uni-Vibe Intensity and Speed controls sit front and center on the Vibe Machine, each with an extremely wide range. The previous Vibe Machine offered Symmetry and Range trimpots on the side to fully adjust the throb and feel of the pedal, but those two controls are now joined by 3 more, Chorus, Custom and Grit. While in Chorus mode, you can also adjust the depth of the harmonic modulation with the Chorus trim. This affects all frequencies across the sweep and can help the guitar cut through in a live mix. The Grit is tied in with the adjustable output buffer and can really help sweeten up the efffect when used with fuzz or drive. In addition to Normal and Bright modes, the input impedance can now be adjusted freely with the Custom trim, ensuring the Vibe Machine sounds consistent when placed after other buffers. Users can connect an expression pedal for Speed control and use the same jack for an external tap tempo switch from Drybell. In that wasn't enough, the V-2 has an advanced firmware that allows you to really dig into the expression and tap tempo parameters, such as Leslie speed control emulation and heel-cancel like a classic Univibe. Of course, the Drybell Vibe Machine V-2 is carefully made and tuned one at a time in Croatia. Видеоклипы
probably the best modulation pedal ever.
the problem with pedals like these is that I would literally cry if someone would steal it from me during a gig night...
There's just something about a fuzzed out Strat with a Univibe...you can play for hours!
I know im asking randomly but does someone know a method to log back into an instagram account?
I was stupid forgot the account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me
@Kalel Trevor instablaster =)
oh man! what a killer sounding pedal..
I bought on of the first Vibe Machines and it was one of the most stunning and inspiring pedals I ever had. Sold it in a moment of madness (or dire financial straits to be honest) But having had all of the big name vibes this one kicked the arse of them all. Simply the best.
Andy, you have the best job in the world! I'm very happy for you, congratulations!
Man, I would have sworn that was Robin Trower opening this video. Terrific sound and playing.
That opening jam could sell this pedal alone, haha
Wow! ! ! Great riffs, didn't think I needed a chorus or vibe pedal until now...
Best sounding vibe ! Great playin Andy!,
It was hard to imagine that they could improve the best vibe pedal on the market, but the guys at Drybell did it...again.
I recently visited Zaghreb, Croatia. Great place. I might have to buy one of these now.
Love that intro groove!! Bravo
Absolutely love the sound of it. Sounds like the curve switch acts as the Voice knob on The Depths, which is still my favorite. Maybe it's different in person.
This one put a smile on Andy’s face.
Another typically great demo Andy, thanks. Gives me more good ideas how to annoy my neighbors!
Smiling guitarist - I like that! And the sounds are killer too!
Proud to be Croatian! :D
me as well!
Stop being so amazing, you are going to have to explain this purchase to my wife,
Now there is a great sounding Robin Trower. Great demo Andy
Great Trower sounds!
this is by far the best vibe in the market...
WE CAN DANCE! WE CAN DANCE! EVERYBODY LOOK AT THEIR HANDS! SAFETY DANCE!! Great video!!
yeah I love this pedal
2 years later and it’s still on his board. Check out the latest post from That Pedal Show on FB - both he and Dan are using ‘em.
Holy chit that sounds great.
Yeah, FUCKIN' correct.
came for the pedal, stayed for the playing :-)
Good lawdddd! This is smoking. This pedal will be replacing my DejaVibe. Amazing tone, Andy!
Did you replace it? How is it better than your Deja?
Yeah Andy! 5:19 Ohio Players "Sweet Sticky Thing"... Great to know you listen to old school r&b!
Thank you Michael. I’m enthralled by that intro and been trying to find out what it is ever since I heard the demo. Only just found your comment 🙏🏻
g&l! (this pedal sounds phreaking great btw)
I want one!!
RIP Pro Guitar Shop
What fuzz is he using in the first song? Has that sweet Trower sound for sure.
@ProGuitarShopDemos : Excuse me but what kind of "Amp" are you playing through ? It sounds Great !
Andy, what was the fuzz pedal you were using on the clip intro ? Sounded amazing matched with that Vibe ! Thx for sharing if you remember.
does andy have a band? if not he needs one...
Going Trower!!
What amp & fuzz are you using at the start? Sounds great.
Happy with my Sweet Sound Mojo Vibe, made right here in the USA.
IM HEARING SOME ROBIN TROWER VIBES GOING ON MYSELF!!!
first song?
How does this compare to the Villanova Mojo Hand?
damn at the 5:18 im getting incredible big star vibes...i can just hear the voice come in....
Vibe-bro
How can you control variable speed without having to reach down and turn the knob by hand while playing? Like the Fulltone MDV3 has the foot pedal that you can slowly or quickly increase/decrease the speed while playing. Tap Tempo isn't really the same as a gradual change.
Yes, the external pedal input accepts everything from expression pedals to tap tempo footswitches and even CV!
From what I understand it has a "ramping" mode that speeds up or slows down after each hit of the footswitch. This is a function like that on some good rotating speaker sims. Sounds killer as it slows down, like syrup.
i'll find out today - i've got an mxr univibe arriving today hopefully it does what i need it to do !
Hey Andy... it appears you play with your fingers in these demos, using your thumb and index finger as a pick for strumming. I play in a similar fashion yet find my index finger nail erodes quite quickly. I was wondering how you avoid this? I've tried all sorts of picks, including Alaska picks, but they just don't work well and don't offer the touch that fingers do. If anyone can offer any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thanks.
Black nail polish. Include copious amounts of Jello (gelatin) in your diet.
What hits the strings is mainly his thumb. He explains his technique in the following videos:

Not using a pick: from 4:15
I have the mini Deja vibe. Anybody know if it would be worth it to get this thing . It's quite pricey but it'll save me some room in my peddleboard the mini is so damn big .
Man, DryBell is the best vibe on the market bar none. I have V1 and it is simply fabulous.
Love my V1. Im Not Changing. What a Sound. The only other Vibe Pedal to even consider is: Electric Orange Moon Vibe MkII.
Which is better, this or retro vibe - Jam pedals? How do you think?
Retro Vibe has more throb. Vibe Machine is more phasey. Both Great, and you can't go wrong with either pedal. If I had to compare . . . I'd say Jam Pedal = more Hendrix / Trower & V.M. = more Gilmour
Whats the first song he played?
“Sweet Sticky Thing”??!
#sold
In the pedal chain...does this go after fuzz or before?
Most guys put this after but experiment, see what you like.
2:22 Random reversed guitar lick o.0
5:18 what song ? unknown mortal orchestra... ?
sweet sticky thing, by the ohio players
sounds very much like "from the sun" though. It could be where ruben got the influence from.
It seems to succeeded in building a better Univibe ...
What was the name of the opening song?
“I Wish I Was Jimi Jam”
Y.T. Sobriquet haha
Sounds fantastic..but nearly $300 for an effect I barely use is a bit of a nut punch
I grinned my ass off when I read your reply to this video Anton! I agree with you 100% and this pedal does indeed sound "awesome"! I've listened to vibe pedals for years and never pulled the plug on one for the very reason that you stated in it being a pedal that you don't use frequently unless you are a "ROBIN TROWER" fan big time which I am definitely! I still have strong reservations about spending that much money for a pedal that you don't use and play all the time as I've had trouble bonding with any pedals that I've bought over the past 20 years unfortunately! :-) Nut punch is an accurate phrase in this scenario!
Mac Baker Stop being a bitch and buy one.
I’m getting one and going to learn a bunch of new songs so I can play it *all* the time
but does it sound $180 better than the mxr univibe?
if you want a genuine lamp and photocell circuit, then yes! This thing sounds so much better IMHO
Depends how much you like vibe. I used to own the Mxr one and sold it after a couple of days, it doesn't really sound that special (in my opinion)
Yes it does. I have a Jam Pedals Retro Vibe which is $329 brand new and I can tell you that it absolutely sounds better than vibe pedals that cost half the price. There's nothing wrong with the MXR or TC univibes, but pedals like the Retro Vibe and Vibe Machine are the best of the best. They're worth the extra money.
Yes. Trust Me !!!
In a word, absolutely. Just listen, and you be the judge. I have had both a Roger Mayer VooDoo Vibe, and a Captain Coconut II. This is the best Vibe pedal I have ever heard. It kills the MXR. The only thing that I don't like about this pedal is that it has almost too much adjustability. I'm inclined to lean towards V1.
SWEET STICKY THING????
Good pedal but I wonder how it would sound without a strat.
Yautja watch the whole video then...
Instant Rock Me Baby Trower..
Andy just does not get enough credit for these performances. Pete, Tim, and Sean come close, but seriously.
GREETS!! GREETS!! heheh ;)
That Ohio Players tho
I think the red one sounds better.
Yes, red is the paint color that exudes the absolute richest of tones. All of those simpletons muddling around with their naked metal enclosures is really just sad. And black? ...Puleeze! Sounds that hearken back to the squalor from which these lowlifes do emmenate. But RED!; the God of tonez has created this color of paint in his own likeness no doubt.
Sounds really good, but I'm still about my Depths from EQD
$340 ouch
Great pedal but $300 ? a bit steep :-(
Not really. check out the prices of comparable photocell vibes. Considering Drybell had to develop proprietary (smaller) photocells to make this work in such a small enclosure, it's pretty justifiable.
These things are pushing $700.00 to $1.000 on Ebay used..
The Drybell? These are around $300 new!
Go straight through a dealer, $319.00, eBay is full of shit
I’m sorry, but I require every univibe demo to start with ‘Breathe’. No upstroke Em, I’m out.
It never fails...that chord is the tester to see if you're in the right zone!
First
first song?
Ohio Players "Sweet Sticky Thing"
Jarrett Anderson No. That was later.
