Ooops! Sorry for the extra 2 minutes of nothingness at the end! (Editing mistake)
You were just 'leaving some space'.
Did you like these JHS unicorn at all? You didn't say much. I'm debating to pick that or this pedal up.
hi R.J , are you born with an uni-vibe at your feet guy ??? just bought one because of you ;) keep on !
I thougth there was post credits
Videos like this are exactly the reason why you are a reviewing legend in my books. Stellar playing as always and a full showcase of the pedal. Thanks RJ!
This dude can completely wipe out your bank account, 401k, and any stocks you may have. Great pedal reviews will keep you running to the nearest guitar store
Happy owner here! DryBell really nailed it.
Dude, not only does the pedal sound like a million bucks, your playing -as always- is friggin stellar. I'd love to hear more about that strat!!!
that vibrato tone just takes me to another place
Yes! Was hoping you would demo that one. Have not been disappointed! Awesome playing as always.
man this is a great pedal, I need it! great demo and playing RJ, thank you and stay safe!
HOLY MACKEREL!!!! Sweet ass tones here RJ!!!! Cheers from France!
Damn! Digging the tones, the playing, and love the look of that brown Strat!
Playing's always on point bro, enjoy ur demos so much.. keep healthy n safe ..
Suits your style so much, always enjoyed this pedal!
Nice Demo as always THANK YOU
I need more univibe. And cowbell. Great as always, RJ.
So much funkiness, love it!
Can we say near perfection!!! Loved it
Hell yeah, great playing man!
This type of pedal is missing from my arsenal and I gotta say that it's one of my favourite tones out there. Gotta get one!
Killer playing!!
Great pedal - awesome playing! Atb - Luther
I've been wanting one of those :0)
Nice man! JIM-MAYY! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Yes sir!
Not given, but very efficient pedal. Nice "jimi" paisley strat ! Stay safe RJ.
I have this pedal, waited 2 years to find one locally, MAN I LOVE MINE!!!! Although, make sure to unplug the power from it or turn it off if you leave it on your board. The Photo cell has a very short lifespan, they have excellent customer service, and mine is back up.
Read the manual(s) and find the instructions for programming the pedal to turn the light bulb off when the pedal is switched off. You don’t need the tap tempo pedal to program that setting either, just the vibe.
That's a sweet looking guitar.
You got me vibing! I'm going to spend some time with my Keeley Monterey today. Nice playing RJ!!
🙏😊
Dope! The detail at 00:22-00:24.
EXPRESSO FX are awesome! Great Vibe 😎
Great demo! I prefer a univibe before a fuzz or OD, but it's usually the noisiest way to do it. What do you think is the quietest univibe pedal? I have an MXR and it sounds good but pretty noisy.
*The vibrato mode was used by Jimi Hendrix when he played "Hey Baby".*
Mike Bledsoe
I’ve tried to tell this to many a guitarist. Most never use the Vibrato on their Uni-Vibes.
@@CorbCorbin 👍
Dry Bell has a pleasing vibe, to its Vibe! I have a JHS Unicorn v.2, and I struggle to get it to sound as lush?
Hey man, I've been watching your demo's lately. Super! I had the Drybell 1, found it to be too midrangy. I had the EHX Good Vibes, which was quite the opposite. Now I settled on the Little Big Tone Vibe. I do like it! Only missing the expression pedal option. Recommended!
How Awesome
Hey RJ. Excellent demo, as usual. What fuzz are you using?? Cheers
Great video, perhaps this has been answered but would love to know what fuzz and if you ran in front or back of vibe? Thank you
Great playing ! i'll have to stick with my Deja Vibe for now tho!
Hey, Great presentation where the viewer can actually see you using the pedal as your tweaking the sound. It's a perfect demo and I agree that that is a sweet looking axe... I wish that Jimi could have been here to see all that would come to followed him up to this day and for ever more just like the classical composers before him like: Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach over 400 years ago ... And you, Sir are a great tribute to Jimi, and good teacher of, all that he was and Is and Is to come!... So "When you gonna cut an album for us?" As a word man myself I truly believe it simply all starts with an idea and just the right title... So, What will your title be?
Awesome playing RJ! Wonder if playing a left-handed guitar in reverse kinda feels weird? I haven't tried one yet. 🤘
As a lefty who started playing right handers upside down... yes. Better once I flipped the strings the right way round. Output jack and controls in the way and easily knocked. 9Strats not to bad with neck dive.
From the opening note, you win.
Cool pedal Nice playing by the way did you ever get a Friedman?
I really like my drybell. I just struggle to play the vibe like I want to.
They make great vibes Are you keeping this one or have to return it ? I have V1 and love it
The chorus seems much more dynamic than the vibrato. However, the chorus does such an incredible job at the univibe sound that I'd still love to own this pedal. Btw, love the way you demonstrated the pedals features. I can hear the Hendrix influence, yet it doesn't sound like you're copying him.
That strat is cool as fuck!!
That kicks it,,,
Question Ron wats ya fav vibe pedal?
A lefty as a righty!
The best vibe machine on the market !!!! But expensive 😢
Which do you like? V3 or Sabbadious?
Ok, I just have say it!!!
I suffer from leftatidis, yes I'm a lefty, and I would love to own a guitar like that...
Maybe if I pray to the guitar gods!!!
All I would have to do is re-string it :-)
R. J. A nice jam indeed :-) :-)
Vibrolicious visions vex my modulated mind mang
🧼🌌👍🏽
Massive intro! Wish someone could teach me how to do that . Love the channel! Stay safe!
So, vibe before fuzz? But I thought the Fuzz circuit didn't want anything before it... is this about buffers only?
Yes, but that's mostly true of germanium based fuzzes, though. Silicon is less picky. Not sure what his fuzz his...
@@es369it has nothing to do with silicon vs germanium. It's a topology issue.
mine doesn't sound as good :(
Guess I'll have to do a little "play with the trimpots" session!
Great Demo RJ :)
I found some useful information on the gear page, I might have copied it, I'll check it out and post here if I did.. but this guy was recommending putting the chorus trimmer all the way up, or all the way down. To avoid dry bell recommended settings for chorus trim. This guy had a few posts with some really good info on getting it tuned in with the other trimmers too, but I would start with the chorus trim.
Personally, I like mine before gain and fuzz, chorus trim fully counter clockwise, volume full, and grit fully counterclockwise. I didn't like mine at first, this solved everything. Sorry for the long ramble, but it really helped it sound better with my set-up. :)
@@ripplebear thanks for the tip, I'll try it for sure and more into tgp 😉👍
@@louisndupuis no problem! Once I got mine sounding better with the chorus trimpot, it found a permanent spot on my board. :)
Amp. It’s All Amp.
Yup if you want that jimi vibe you need a flipped strat type. Builds dont believe it.
I've got one of those pedals! But, it sounds horribly out if tune and time everytime I play it
This pedal costs about the same as the Dunlop Rotovibe. The Dunlop Rotovibe is much, much better. The Dunlop Rotovibe speed can be controlled while playing, because you can adjust it with your foot, because it's designed like a wah wah pedal, just like the original foot controllers of the Shin-ei Uni-vibes that Jimi Hendrix used.
You can connect an expression pedal to the drybell. Also the Rotovibe is HUGE.
@@wescoast Smaller does not necessarily mean better, but it can be. Anyway, if you add the expression pedal to the DryBell, those 2 items will take up more space than the Rotovibe on it's own. We all have different preferences when it comes to using effects. Also we all have different budgets to work with. The best cheap uni-vibe effect I have ever used is the Danelectro Cool Cat Vibe which costs about 50-60 US dollars, and they are becoming hard to find. I want to try the Danelectro Chicken Salad Vibrato, but they are also hard to find, and gradually becoming more expensive (70-80 US dollars is a typical asking price if you can find one). I have also used Moen Shaky Jimi Vibe which costs about 40 dollars brand new with free shipping from China and found it to be a very usable uni-vibe effect. It's very good both as a chorus and as a vibrato. The vibrato setting gives a much stronger Hendrix style vibe when you find the right speed, depth, and hue settings, & I like the chorus setting on fast speed for that wobbly sound heard in Nirvana songs such as Aneurysm (ascending single note chromatic part) & Heart Shaped Box (solo). Based on R.J. Ronquillo's excellent demonstration of the DryBell, I think it's a very usable uni-vibe for someone who has a budget of approximately 300 dollars plus they would need to buy a decent expression pedal to connect onto it, to be able to use the effect to it's full potential and make speed adjustments on the fly.
@@akanensusi5863 bro, great review. Sounds like you've done your research. What do you think of the Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Uni Vibe? Goes for around $120 USD. Between the DryBell or Dunlop? Thanks in advance!
@@armandogarduno3954 if you mean the new small one with the Jimi Hendrix painting on it, I haven't tried it, but based on reviews it seems very good, & it's based on the legendary band of gypsys sound. It doesn't have an input for an expression pedal though, so you can only adjust the speed with the knob.
@@akanensusi5863 yes, the new one with the groovy artwork on it. I have read the reviews and some of the reviews on RUclips make it aound pretty good. I do like that Band of Gypsys sound so I may lean on this pedal. I'll rock it with a wah and a fuzz all day.
Literally just came to a sound.... cheaper than a 5 year brazzers account
