Looking forward to seeing the full warm up routine. One thing I saw last year and added to the first part of my warm up is this little leadpipe playing thing from Gerard Presencer ruclips.net/video/htjrKFc8KZ8/видео.htmlsi=2hvULGYR5I87eQXJ . Just finding the most resonant note on the leadpipe (for me, it's usually C#.) I can really hear the bell start to vibrate big time. Once I have that note, I just play it nice and loud about 4 whole notes and that's it. I think it helps to quickly jumpstart and activate my chops for the rest of my warm up.

Always warm-up before playing and always warm -down after playing as well.

So glad you made this video! I've been curious about different approaches to warm ups and its so good to hear your insight. For me what you said about covering "all aspects of brass playing" in the warm ups is a great lesson. Thank you!!

I have a question that I asked 3 different trumpet teachers and got 3 different answers...should we oil the trumpet every time we play and after we finish playing ? What is YOUR opinion ?

Hey Fam, thanks for the question. I only oil them when they start to feel sluggish or slow. I think over oiling them is unnecessary and a waste of oil. When they start to feel slow, oil them and only then. Always here to help. dB
