I'm a "comeback" player, and am struggling to get my range and tone back after 20yrs away. This is a really useful video, will definitely be a using it - thank you!!
Ryan, I love your videos! You have helped my approach to breathing and air movement and my playing has improved greatly. I agree, long tones are not a warm up, they should be used for focused practice.
Day 1 of playing long tones with you! I was starting to get light headed after about F (top of the staff) Not sure why haha Well im not used to playing long tones above C so that might be the reason Thank you for the video!
In the beginning of the video, I put a time stamp that said “Skip to X time if you don’t want to hear what I’m about to say”. If it’s a turn off, you are not required to watch any more of my videos. You won’t offend me.
Well! For me it helped get a better understanding of longtones and how I can apply it to reach my own goals and be better. And @barryhunt8527 why don't you try teaching let's see how well you do instead of coming here to spread your bad thoughts.

Keep at it! Think air support and firm corners when you’re going into the upper register. I have a recent video that talks about it.
@@RyanBeachtrumpet thanks I'll check it out for sure!
Hi Ryan. Whats your thought on we play this on the mouth piece aswell ?
Long tones on the mouthpiece? You could I suppose. But I don’t do that.
Spoiler alert: I did not make it to the double G.
😂
Ryan for goodness sake don’t yap so much, over 5 minutes of crap. Its a turn off 🤷♂️👎🤪🏴
