    Was a pro lead player high note guy from ages 16-50,one stroke and lost from a E over ( high C ) up... Then my two bottom teeth were ripped out due to diabetes... My time was fun, playing 20 to 30 gigs weekly for many many years, glad there are people helping the younger players have the opportunity to soar on this amazing field as a lead tpt player. Wishing success to all.

    Thanks! I’m working on this! I played in school, but now I’m retired, 74 years old, in Texas!

    I made 1st trumpet in high school but eventually quit playing and decided on a different career path. To get those high notes out, I pushed the mouthpiece so hard that my lips started to bleed against my teeth. That was the end of trumpet playing for me. On the other side, there is music theory for those born without the gift of music. For those born with the gift of music, music theory enhances one's natural gift. Those not born with the gift are forever stuck to music sheets transcribed by others. At 70, I see this with my daughter, who can play and improvise on anything she hears. This happened for her after two years of piano lessons at the age of 15, she was transcribing and improvising anything from classical to jazz and her execution of the piano just got better after that. Think I made the right decision to put down the trumpet! 🙂

    Well, I'm not sure if I did what you said, but now I can play 2 notes on my trumpet instead of 1, so thank you, haha.

    Excellent well edited video!😊🎺🎶🎙🎼🎛 I am going to apply most of what you said because you are correct. The only part you lost me on is the tongue arch because I do not see its correlation with changing the pitch. I tried anchoring It doesn't work .😪 The aperture control and air flow are the one changing the pitch for me. 😕

      Oh I understand what’s happening…. I’ve made a video explaining tongue arching… why it works for some people and why it doesn’t work for others and how to make it work…. Am sure you’re gonna understand once I post it…. Stay tuned ✌🏽

    Hello, I am 15 and lead in top jazz of my high school. I use a lot of MP pressure when playing high. Can you do a video on how to form your embouchure? I feel like my embouchure is bad and inefficient

    • @marvintrumpeter1013
      @marvintrumpeter1013  7 месяцев назад

      Oh definitely…. Let me add that to my to do list…. But for the meantime try to do some lip slurs while increasing range day by day…. Remember rest within practice sessions is very crucial this will help you decrease on the mouthpiece pressure being used…. Hope this helps 👍🏽

    Please is it good to place the mouthpiece at any position on the lips or there is a particular place to be used

    • @marvintrumpeter1013
      @marvintrumpeter1013  10 месяцев назад +1

      Oh yeah ofcourse there’s a specific spot on the lips that’s going to be very effective… and that’s the middle part of the lips… however be sure not to play from the innermost part of your lips (sometimes called playing in the red) as that’s going to make it difficult for you to increase range at later stages of trumpet playing… I hope this helps…

      ruclips.net/video/y3bWSnHcQHo/видео.htmlsi=F0haJpLOa6mBtvVG in this video I talk about a simple method that helps trumpeters attain good stability on the high notes… play it holding you high notes as long and as strong as possible… you will love the results…

    but if ya want to be heard in a band situation, ya need to lower your tongue in the 'awww' position behind the lower teeth, and open your throat.
