I simply love Nigella!! When her show was on the Food Network I watched her show all the time. I especially loved at the end of each show it shown her going back for seconds after dinner or in the middle of the night. Totally relatable!!! Lol
This was the menu I made for my very first dinner party ----- a LONG time ago. It became my standard & now my friends get mad when I serve something else. It's total perfection - comes out EVERY single time and everyone adores it. The tip about the red lentils thickening the broth is one of the best "cheats" I have ever learned. XOXO
There is a strong chance that this might become the menu for my first post-graduation dinner party with friends. I just need to buy a blowtorch and I am all set.
I grew up watching and reading Nigella and can honestly say she taught me how to cook. Re-reading How to Eat during the lockdown and I'm reminded of what a genius she can be
@@spakkakiwi1 Way back, years ago, when I was in the dating scene, whenever I'd invite a young lass out for dinner, I'd always bring her home and cook for her. It almost always worked. ;-)
Steffany K - there’s a big contrast to how Nigella talks (did literature in uni ) and Jamie Oliver (barely passed GCSE). Two great cooks but two different backgrounds.
Nigella, it is always good to see you. I have been following your shows via various media for years. I love your fun and practical style of cooking, and you always bring warmth and love to the table. Thanks!
Many years ago, my teen years. We were returning from a day at the shore. As we rounded our Main Street we spied a most beautiful woman all dressed up in her finery and her stepping out knowing everyone was looking at her. Of course we were all looking at her and her head was up in the clouds. Big Martin, was a few yards in front of us and as she drew level to him, he turned and said, "Can she bake a scone"? Her expression dropped, the balloon burst. We all chorused "No, she canny". I was wiser when was 15 than I was when 20.
You don’t have to put one section of women to uplift another Don’t follow the herd to pour hate on kardashians they might be vain to an extend but they also do a lot of good in the world
@@Leo19rash It isn't about their vanity but rather their vapid, superficial personalities. The issue is that young girls emulate this instead of revering women of substance.
Lady Bohemia who are we to judge someone is superficial or not do you want the show they are also went through and go through a lot of stuff in life Young women should be allowed to make their own judgements rather than older women making impressions on them by stereotyping one section of women..
@@Leo19rash I'm not judging the Kardashians. I'm pointing out that their "brand" perpetuates the idea that in order to be desirable and feminine, a female must dim her intelligence, buy fake body parts and release a sex video in order to achieve fame. The sad part is that they probably are very capable and kind women who were raised in an environment that taught them that superficiality is the goal in order to be adored. Why wouldn't we want to change that type of culture for our youth? Wasn't it bad enough in the 80s and 90s when teen girls were throwing up their dinners in order to look like Kate Moss? Now we take it a step further by throwing implants on a credit card because if we don't we aren't deemed good enough? Nigella is feminine and beautiful and graceful without all the fuss. That was my point. Beauty is accessible for every woman...not just the wealthy or surgically reconstructed.
Love this - but just a few 'observations' (coming from my Bengali heritage). 1. When you add the spices, push the onions/garlic to one side and preferably remove from heat. Then, tilt the pan and allow the oil to collect on one side. Add the spices there and stir in to allow it to turn in a paste. Then place back on heat and fold into the onions/garlic. Add a ladle of water to ensure the spices don't stick. This allows a more uniform cooking of the spices. 2. After adding the Lamb shanks, cook on high heat with lid on for about 5 minutes on either side. This allows the meat to absorb the rich spice fragrance. Then add the liquid and bring to boil for about 5 minutes followed by turning down heat and cooking for 1.5 hours. 3. Rinse the red lentils before adding them otherwise you include all the starch which makes it a bit sticky.
Love your recipes. This one for the lamb shank is something totally different than what we know here in South Africa......but I'm certainly going to try it. Thanks a lot!!
Love this lady as well as her cooking skills. What a lovely, intelligent lady with a soothing elegant British accent. I also wish I knew how to purchase her cookware and pottery serving bowls.
Ah... Nigella. Need you now more than ever during quarantine ❤️️ Even though I've seen EVERY SINGLE episode of ALL your shows at _least_ 2 dozen times! 😊 Love this episode, even though I hate lamb lol
Eu amo essas receitas! Já fiz muito. O couscous é perfeito. O crème brûlée é incrível e esse cordeiro é maravilhoso. Obrigada, Nigella! Conheci ess receita há 8 anos. Nunca vi nada igual ❤
she has done so much for so many working, non working women everywhere w/ these easy simply wonderful recipes - oh to be a guest at Ms. Lawson's dinner party and taste some of her fare, watched her vids for a while, always wondered what her cooking actually tasted like.
Great work Nigella! You should give your camera man/woman a raise, they do an AMAZING job at capturing your recipes as the story unfolds. Keep up the good work 😊
i find this woman so attractive, i nearly always forget what the heck she has been cooking at the end of the video. not to mention some great one-liners she tosses with the same naturalness she tosses ingredients in the pot, to the point of catching the meaning a couple of nano-secs later.
Nigella is one of the most sensuous women in TV. Everything about her- looks for sure , her accent , down to earth yet classy and eleganct, poise, attitude , that naughty glances, ....u name it she got it
Nigella you are wonderful! I Love your kitchen and your style! Happy new year Nigella 🍾 🍀 and thank you for this new Clip! Greets from the lac of constance / Germany! 😘
That lamb dish is looking so delicious and the dessert is looking great also. Your guests must have enjoyed it so much and had their fill and can't blame them. I never ate lamb chops until I was in the Air Force and was eating lunch in Dover, Delaware and they served lamb chops and I noticed that no one was eating the chops and I could not eat mine either and had to throw it away. I noticed that the trash container was full of them and figured out that no one else enjoyed them either. How do you cook them where they are delicious and tasty?
Greetings Nigella, I just had to say that the Lamb Shanks are to die for but what really got my attention was the dessert! Her vocabulary is so wonderful to listen to. It just adds to her charms.
It could just be this video, but she does come across as lacking passion for what she's doing and seems really wooden and perfunctory in her demeanor.
She eats lamb ...she's a terrible human.
ícҽís թհօҽղíx what’s wrong with eating lamb?

Right? I always think that if she hadn't gone into cooking, she would have surely been a writer.
Her use of English is so beautiful. English really is a beautiful language. As a non-native speaker, her voice is so beautiful to me.

I tried it tonight as l like citrusy food in general. l must say lm quite disappointed - very bland, almost tasteless!
Anyone have the amounts she used for creme
brûlée? TIA
mmenmg there was no citrus in the whole recipe so why does it matter if you like citrus or not
“Well, it doesn’t come from anywhere, but it borrows from the Moroccan palate”. How can she be so eloquent and funny all at once?!
By being super smart and clever. And well-born British.
Love her, love her cooking, love her videos.....best stress reliever around ❤️
Karen Katz totally agree! Feel so calm watching her!!

I love Nigella's greedy biting. Food prepared by a foody. The way it should be.
"Let me show you my... aromatics" That has to be the most unintentionally seductive thing I've ever heard.

Yep, not sure about the unintentional bit though :)
Lancer525 “it’s nice and soft”
The satisfaction one can obtain from simple ingredients like Nigella and custard cant be overstated.
I miss the midnight kitchen raids long after the party....'twas the cherry on top😢
Yes, I miss that also. It showed that she was like everybody else. She would grab a piece of chocolate cake by hand and take a bite. WOW !! V
I guess stopping all that helped her lose weight 😂😂
I love to see Nigella cooking and enjoying good food!! She is not one of those prissy "watercress sandwich only please" types! Lol!
I can listen to her all day long
I love her vocabulary, you can tell she reads a lot.

I love when they show shots of inside her house and you see walls of books 😍😍😍
I think she's speaking British English
She was a journalist before
Besides your recipes Nigella, I love your clothing style!!
