- In this video I demonstrate increases that go beyond the normal one-stitch increase, on both the knit and purl side of the work.
I mention a pattern called Fox Paws (not my design), you can see it here:
www.ravelry.com...
The yarn I used for demonstration is Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Bulky.
The needles I uses are Knitter's Pride Bamboo DPNs.
My nail polish is by Julep, color "Evan": refer.julep.com...
Hi, I just want to say thank you for all your wonderful tutorials. I have learned how to knit thanks to you. You are really easy to understand and you are really fun to watch as well. I look forward to all your new tutorials. Thank you. Sending you love from over the pond in the UK. (btw it was your crochet for knitters tutorials that I watched first. I have been crocheting for years but even in that series you managed to teach me new crochet skills.) xx
You have the best videos online - honestly, you're videos have taught me how to knit!
Very helpful :D
Believe ir it or not I didn't know this kind of increasing method existed! That's why I love you and your channel, I continue learning with every video. Thank you Staci
You are the BEST! Thank you!!!!! I am trying to learn - just practicing, no pattern - to do all the stitches on the knit side, then repeat the pattern backwards on the purl side. I needed a 1-3 purlside increase. You always have the answer!
WOW! I didn't know you could do anything like that. I attempted to do a pfb, a couple of nights ago, but I did mine different. That's a pain, the way you did it. THANKS!!! Will have to try that.
Wow, on that first kfb,fb,fb... I was thinking My gosh! How many times is she going to do that?!?! The suspense was killing me... that is crazy.
Thank you so much. Made it so approachable to do. Love your videos.
Thank you for making that look like such a breeze ! I have tried it before and the stitches were so tight, I could not go on.
Thank you for teaching me the knit increases stitches, you have helped me a whole lot you are a good Teacher I Love your work
I'm a big fan of your videos, so I don't really want to make trouble. The increase the second increase is useful for lots of things, but it isnt quite the same as the fox paws increase. If you use this in the pattern it comes out as a clumpy mess (I know because I tried this before figuring out how to make the tall increases). You may want to clarify so I people don't get confused.
My husband is snickering at the kfbfbfbfb to infinity. He's so silly! 😀 Thanks for another great tutorial.
MsSpiffer1 Not the only one,my husband reacted to the same thing
Wow! I'm knitting a blanket that says k1, p1, k1 all in one stitch and I've been putting the yarn in the front for the purl and in the back for the knits....I hope I'm doing it right. Lol
Lol..."this is like an adventure"... love it.
Call me crazy, but it looks fun.
Thank you! I had purchased the Tuli Cowl pattern, & needed help from the first with a k1 yo k1 yo k1 into next stitch!
Exactly the video I was looking for.
wonderful video! only problem is I was so tense wondering how many you would do! thank yo7 so much for making these videos so approachable.
You may have this video somewhere and I just haven't found it - if so, my apologies in advance! I'm working a lacy beaded shawl pattern that calls for KYOKs and KYOKs that knit into a stitch on the *previous* RS row. I can not seem to find any RUclips vids on this. Here are is the stitch description (from BooKnits shawl "Timeless"): "knit, yarn over, knit into the beaded stitch on the previous right side row by inserting your right hand needle through the front of your shawl to the back and working the stitch before dropping the original stitch from your left hand needle, making three stitches from one" ... Any help you may have is MUCH appreciated! (Yes, I've also posted a comment in the Ravelry pattern section.)
I'm actually working on a lace shawl that has 9 stitches increased from one, and it looks like a flower! :D
How can I keep the loop on the left needle lose enough to make 6 stitches from 1 stitch? Is there another way to get a center point in a cardigan knitting bottom up?
My pattern tells me to lift running thread between st just worked twist and place on left needle, k1 in back,in next st, knit in front, back, front of st, lift running thread St as before k1 in back (5 sts from 1)
I'd say that was very interesting. Something to really think about. Because there are patterns out there that have something like what you just showed us. I had a pattern once that I couldn't make head or tails of it .. I showed a friend and she said I was right to be confused. She couldn't make heads or tails of it either (scratching head) Making multiple increases I think I can do. Patterns that aren't correct I can't do. :-(
Wow that Purl to the back looks very difficult hopefully I won't need it anytime soon.
Love these videos , learn so much 😊
Can you show how this is done. Having problem with the twist on 1st st
Thank you so much.
Hi,
How is your yarn so stretchy? I’ve tried every yarn I have with Fox paws and after about 2 KYOK it gets so tight it’s unworkable. Help? Thanks!
Can i use this increase ( 2 stitches at a time) in a batwing sweater sleeve?
Great video… I’m. Urgently working a vintage pattern that requires 5 stitches made in one… the pattern says
“k1 p1 k1 p1 k1 all in the same stitch”. So I’m of course having to bring the yarn front and back to make each loop correctly. It’s nice but a bit of a pain. 😂 Any thoughts?
Omg typo. Not “urgently” 😂😂😂 currently. 😜
Thank you for teaching me something new!! :D
This was very interesting. I was wondering where would you use this kind of increase?
Patterns call for these increases.
how do I un-knit the kfb stitch? I can not remember what my last stitch was. I can un-knit the regular knit stitch but how do I un-knit the kfb ones?
Just let the left stitch of the kfb fall off the needle, then tink the right stitch like any other knit stitch.
I will knit back, knit front avoiding Purl bump
Hey thanks for this
would like look like kfb3 in a pattern? i just came across this and cant figure out what it means
It can mean more than one thing...please contact the pattern designer for help with that.

Is this the same as ‘morse 1’ ?? Thanks!
Sorry, I don't know what "morse 1" is.
Hi Stacey, whenever I kfb or m1 I get a hole in my work as if I did a yarn over how can I correct this?
It is likely that you aren't getting the correct twist on your Make 1 stitches, this video will help:
