Samsara Split Sleeper Berth Feature

The split sleeper berth feature is a very useful tool to save your day. In 2020 a minor change was made to the logbook rules allowing you to recover lost time. If you are stopped during your day and in sleeper berth or off duty for at least 2 hours then you can recover up to 3 hours of your clock back. Follow the instructions in this video so you can apply it to your logbook.

14 minus (time used between 8sleeper 2offduty) = time given [appears like it paused the 14 if you started with 14]
11 minus ( time driven between 8sleeper 2offduty) = driving time given [drive time stops when wheels stop]
Edit or add event the yard move and or the personal conveyance entries from customer to Truck stop to complete sleeper time in reality.

Can you turn it on after being off duty for 2 hours or do you log SB? I turned mine on after a couple of hours but I was off duty. I used to do it when I had a Qualcomm and it would give me time back. One day last week I turned split sleeper toggle on after being off duty for a couple of hours but it didn't give me an hours back

Yes you can turn it on after the fact and it will work. But sometimes you need to turn it on in your HOS settings and then go to your logbook for the day and tell it to apply that day. And then sign out of Samsara so it resets and then sign back in to see the changes applied. But after doing that it should just apply automatically moving forward without signing out.
