I was invaded by a guy once in DS3 named "fire miniboss" who legit made himself into a bossfight with Cheat Engine. His body was basically fire, with rocks swirling around him. Ha used various effects and weapon/spell combos from ingame, and he had an awesome phase 2. The guy was really cool also, he didn't just annihilate me with all stuff he had but kinda proudly showed off what he made. It was legit a minibossfight since he didn't heal or dodge away from my hits. These hackers with creativity are pretty much gone now, and their places were taken by neckbears with dorito dust all over their triple chin.
I heard about someone in ds3 named like beginner pyromancer or something like that and they just "mess up" all of their fire spells and damage themselves.
Usually I condemn cheating in any way. But this sounds awesome.

I was doing minibosses is DS3 like that a couple times, inspired by Amir, souls veteran. Not much like him, he could do really crazy stuff, but a few modded spells and "second phase" where i managed to make world dark like in Deacons boss fight. Most tricky part was figuring out, what other players can see, so they didnt get confused getting hit by air, where on your screen you shoot fireball on them.
Good times.
Imagine invading a lv30 with invincibility cheats, modded stats, impossible enchants, and speed hacks, and *_still_* losing because you're trash at PvP.

@selza5222 Having been downscaled for my friends, it not nearly that crazy at that level. If anything, it kinda severe because your damage goes off a cliff and your hp is appropriate for the level. It around 50-100 where you basically get max stats and down scaling does nothing. Feel free to justify your virgin friends though.

Cheat engine (used ethically of course) got me many additional hours of fun in ds3.
hacking is fine, sort of. cheating is absolutely not. ;p like, by hacking u can duplicate ur character so u can reborn it as something else with different build or RP in mind. instead beating game dozens if not hundred of times. its cool time saver...
or if people wanna cheat... at least do it in favor of other people.. and help em out with ur boosted stats and such, to help with their bosses... thats my opinion. althrough both cheating/hacking should be rather done for single player experience only imo...
I wouldn't call us hackers. I would call us modders, and most of the people I know who do what you think we do, would don the same title.
Whatever you do with Cheat Engine in souls games, never mess with other people's experience.
Its basic decency and respect for the players' time.
The funniest hacker I ever encountered was when I was doing co-ops with a low level Solaire cosplay, and we got invaded by a guy who was simply named “Rat”. When we found him, he was 2-3 feet shorter than your normally supposed to be. He was basically doing stealth invasions in Stormveil but he modified his height to make himself noticeably shorter. It was actually really funny, and he ended up backstabbing the host when he wasn’t looking.
Was Rat the size of a Vulgar Militiaman?

This topic always reminds me of a legendary one hour long invasion by Chase in ds3 against a cheater host supported by a couple of blues. Insane win at the end, but the window licker was so frustrating even Chase was swearing by the end of it.

I've never encountered a cheater in an FromSoft game thank god but I feel everyone should see the clip of ChaseTheBro purposely parrying an invisible hacker then killing them, or figuring out that he can riposte/back stab a cheater with god mode to death somehow.
Best guess is that the code forgets to cover damage dealt other than by getting hit normally(i.e. fall dmg and backstabs)
Chase routinely encounters hackers and thinks that they are just vigor builds or the invisibility is a bug. He still wipes the floor with them though
Most interesting cheater I ever met was in DS3, was on the way with 2 phantoms to fight the rotting tree boss. As we rushed our way to the fogwall, this naked blue-haired dude came floating through the air at us, so we killed him and then went in to kill the boss, shortly after the blue haired dude popped up infront of us, so we killed him -again-, he spawns infront of us again, then kills us with some curse build up attack. Atleast the guy was nice enough to let us down the boss, but that was weirdest encounter with a cheater I've ever had lmao..

Meanwhile my experience is finding a dude named "It's all Ogre Now" who would stay in Pontiff pvp area and nuke the map with permastunlock on invaders and keep them from invading anyone else, and arena would just have the one guy who crashes everyone's game.

I love how no matter how many cheats someone has, the ultimate solution for them is calling their skill issue, and then baiting them to let gravity do the work.
For the second invasion, the fog gate for the Mad Pumpkin head is always active, even if you killed him already. Just step through and head right back out. You'll have to resummon again, but it'll clear the reds.
Agheel lake and Stormgate were pretty notorious for cheaters in the early days, I guess some are still there.
Oroboro has a sick DS2 invasion where the host he invades is immune to gravity in Forest of the Giants. Likewise they had infinite health and stamina. He knocked them into the salamander pit you go to after finding a mid game key, so that host effectively ruined their save by being trapped in a pit that they weren't supposed to survive in yet. It's the "my pet hacker" video.

i did the math for some reason i guess so uh there are 336 hours in two weeks and 168 in one and since we sleep on average about 6 to 8 hours a day i checked with 7 and 8 hours times the amount of days there are and then continued since there are 168 on one, 56 ( or 8 hours times 7) leaves us 112 which is close i guess with 49 (or the same thing with seven instead) its 119 and with two weeks 336 hours was around 220 hours, the point is, that bro barely did anything related to.. his life ig in the span of those four weeks, heck i have 200 hours in elden ring after multiple months almost a year even, i dont care if it isnt elden ring anyways, point is its basically that amount is not quite the thing to be happy for

Cheaters need to be thoroughly shamed and the short clips (about cheating) don't have the same direct impact, indirectly coming off ambiguously as a consequence.
This is NOT a grey issue, and new players need to know exactly where the community stands on these pivotal issues.

You can create a section where the exploits of these arthropods will be captured, and in the description under the video you can leave nicknames for their Steam accounts, so that viewers would ban them in advance. This way the game will be a little cleaner for the spectators.

@@Fatespinner Waifu will have proofs in the form of videos, where the exploits of these comrades will be captured, it’s just that in the process you should comment on what is happening more restrainedly in order to avoid unnecessary toxicity. So this is a just thing, otherwise these overminds are used to creating dirty tricks from the shadows, attacking unsuspecting players, and so at least some part will be protected in advance from such individuals.

I remember the times where I use gravity (my greatest ally and enemy as a veteran) against cheaters; I remember one time where one such individual who died from said gravity immediately spammed one toxic message after another (around twenty or so consecutively) and even sent threats-like anyone who knew their worth in salt I sent a gif of the dancing lizard meme

got invaded by a player called "Cinderella" once, whos cheat was specifically to overload the game i think. had a rapidly casted spell with so many particle effects, my computer bluescreened
I recently got into your videos. Absolutely top class in terms of script, pacing and jokes. Ranni's voice sounds amazing. I think it would be better if you held back on some of the sfx though (like the fart one) since you rely on them a bit too much

Reminds me of the time I was helping a buddy of mine in liurnia during our first playthrough. We were going to fight the Nights Calvalry that drops the ice spear Ash of war.
An Invader had shown up on my friends 3rd attempt. (He didn't level vigor and kept getting 1 shot.)
The Invader was a cheater with like 3k HP despite Us being level 25 or so, and I did like 5 damage per strike, per sword. (Dual wielding straight swords.) . He did more damage than reasonable as well. Almost 1 shotting me with a single light attack a few times despite it being a pike.
He also had a shield.
I fought the dude for literally 30 minutes 1v1 while my buddy watched for a bit until eventually deciding to solo the nights Cavalry. I just kept having to dodge.
I'm not that good at the game so this just goes to show how much this guy sucked.
I would love to claim I beat him... But I didn't. The moment I wittled him down to 1 quarter of his max HP and seemingly removing all his flask uses. A bolt of lightning came down from the sky despite him not using a miracle or anything. 1 shotting not only me through a roll. But my buddy who was literally 1 quarter of the map away from us.

I've encountered some people using invincibility cheats which always sucks. But I always love it when a hacker invades and they have used cheat engine to make themselves into a mini boss fight and they then roleplay a mini boss and its absolutely possible to defeat them. There have been some AMAZING ones out there.
Also while active cheating ruins the game for everyone, small passive cheats (duplicating weapon grease or whatever) I don't have a problem with. Because that has a very different intent behind it. When I see someone who has cheated in more items it tells me "This person doesn't have the time/doesn't want to grind" not "this player is going out of their way to ruin the fun of others."
I love it when cheaters invade my world when I'm in the rune farm spot in limgrave and they fall to there death
The encounter with the 2nd cheater felt like a newbie superhero meeting the head honcho supervillain on their first mission, panicking and then getting a surprising victory by outsmarting them in the last second .. that was quite dramatic (also, gravity is still the ultimate boss in the game, not even cheaters can defeat it) XD

First week of release, I encountered some fuck that drank a couple flasks and: gave himself invincibility, gave himself all status immunities, gave me and my party member full stacks of everything all at once, and made us explode like bombs.
I quit playing online.

There's apparently a guy here on youtube who brags about cheating and getting people banned in souls games. They claim it's a way to protest against FromSoft safety policies, and worse he's got a bunch of orbiters who actually believe it and applaud them, fucking surreal.
it's always some chinese players (not racist just happens way too often) you should've seen "% ner" he was a chinese gaymer who was flexing modded ashes of war into impossible weapons such as sword dance on lances he got exposed and processed to delete every video of his channel (all in console btw i suspect savewizard or any other save editing tool)

@@johndang55 yeah. there was also a hacker spotted using a millicent model online with her hand cut off which was crazy.
Sadly even with the anti cheat we get cheaters on consoles regularly.
My worst one was a guy who with 1 throwing knife instantly killed my friend then light attacked with a parry dagger from a long distance and gave me death blight.
I was level 570.
The others are hacked weapons like one shot light hits, infinite death blight lightning, and my favorite hated thing throwing pot that causes a nuke of 100,000 hp damage for the whole area.

When I was a kid I played Dark Souls 2 and was very bad at it so I used cheat engine for infinite health.
But one time somebody invaded me. Not to destroy that person day, I have jumped to my end.
In DS1 the problem was solved with Wulf's Dark Souls Connectivity Mod. Not only did it flash a warning and let you toss out any cheaters, it also increased the number of available connections and made it way faster.
Modders made more improvements than the remaster ever did
Most of the cheaters in old souls games weren't just doing it for griefing either, the real sad reality was that they were often casuals who were so deeply terrified of invasions they immediately turned on infinite health. Then when they were unkillable, they'd get all brave and endlessly hunt down the invader across the map. It's like if you don't want the pvp then, then why didn't you just go to the boss fog or play offline? Just annoying what cowardice it showed that they only wanted to fight when they were literally invincible.
My first interaction with a hacker perma killed my 1st playthrough by changing my respawn point over a death pit. I made it all the way to the giants flame boss fight and i had to start up my playthrough again
Was invaded by a cheater today named “missed me?” . As soon as he began losing the duel, he stopped and stopped receiving damage. Then switched to some sort of seal, while still being godmode, and i instantly got killed by deathblight proc. Fun.
That second story was intense! really glad I subscribed to this channel 😁

There was one time I was at Iron Keep in DS2, and I got invaded by someone who was essentially vomiting acid urns at me and using a dagger with curse buildup.

I hope this video shits on EAC, kept getting my game crashed trying to invade for the first time in elden ring the other day, very good software glad they added it so it can slow down game performance for no reason.
First time seeing one of your videos. Brilliant. Love the narration.
I have encountered only two cheaters in the almost 800 hours I have played darksouls.. And both times, they were players who initially weren't cheating, but turned on the cheats due to being pissed off at me.. Here are my stories.
First, for some context, I do not PvP, I absolutely hate it except on very specific occasions, so whenever I'm invaded, I will do three things. First, I will immediately stop moving and wait for the invader to reach me. Then, I will turn to them and attempt to use a white soapstone, doing the "Can't use item" shrug as a personal expression of basically saying "What do you want me to do about it?", and then, alt+F4, mid-shrug.
Now.. The first time I encountered a cheater, was when I was being repeatedly invaded in sen's fortress during my "Blood Hunter" build. The dude just wasn't getting the hint. He'd run up on me full speed with a darkmoon blade enchanted weapon, and I'd completely ignore him right up till he reached me, and poof out.. Well, I guess he must've taken it personally, because the dude activated some serious cheats. The millisecond he invaded, he instantly teleported exactly to my location, already in the middle of the animation for wrath of the gods, which dealt seemingly infinite damage, instantly killing me.
The second time I encountered a cheater, was during my "Forest Hunter" covenant run, so I was summoned as an invader to deal with this guy.. He was using the shamefully skill-less giant-dad meta, with the fire zweihander, and I had.. A +5 Mail Breaker.. I kind of assumed I wasn't going to make it out of there alive, but when I realized zweihanders
and trees REALLY didn't mix, I quickly adapted a strategy of just repeatedly baiting him to swing into a tree, and backstabbing him whilst his blade bounced back, and actually killed him!
.. I then invaded him again, and he then turned on some cheats, and/or an exploit, I'm not sure if it counts as one or the other.. Either way, he was now suddenly fast-rolling in his giant-dad armor, and swinging his zweihander one-handed with longsword animations. I actually got him down to half health still because this guys whole life strategy was just "Run forward and attack", but I got sloppy and he nabbed me. To this day, that memory stays in my treasure vault, as the time I killed a giant dad with a friggen mail breaker, and he got so salty, he had to crank up the cheats just to defeat me. The shamelessness of his actions really helped take the sting out of that defeat.

I'll be honest. I used a save editor for DS1 on a single character. I was full dragon form with unlimited stamina and that was it. I'd only get summoned for PvE and I'd only attack once before staying back for the host to fight. Same if we got invaded. However if we got invaded by a unlimited health cheater. I'd infinit stun lock them off a cliff. Was to much fun getting hate mail from them calling me the cheater.
2:30 That being said, attacking fellow red can be bent when said red is interrupting the honourable fight that you and another are having fun in.
News to me that there is any sort of honor system. I've so far with about a week of pvp found no honor between fellow reds. If anything, it seems to be they gang up on you with the rune arc farmer host and their co-op pal set up in the bushes, and then stand around holding hands with them waiting for the next poor bugger that gets chugged into the farm to manifest. Feels like a fairly common occurrence when invading to end up in rune arc farmer playgrounds (usually identifiable by it being around the first outside area you get into with the host sitting on a ledge conveniently exposed like bait on a plate) to the point the trap is predictable. Kinda wish other reds would not encourage this by joining forces, and actually team up to kill the sneaky advantage stacking buggers.
@@videocrowsnest5251 Whenever I fight I wave and bow before commencing battle. Idk why, just seems more fair. The one thing that grinds my gears more than anything else is when a player and a cooperator try to both fight me at the same time.
to combat this in dark souls 3, my friend made his own hacks he could turn on when we were invaded if the other person was also cheating. it was like nuclear war, if they used it we used it

That invader btw had infinite mana too, even maxed fp wouldn't give you a dozen weapon arts and multiple gavels let alone spamming NC and slicer.
i have taken to calling the types of cheaters who help others or don't really fuck with the player maliciously and sometimes just do really cool stuff as wizards in the past year or so and it generally feels fitting

I have remembered thanks to this video the time I had the bad luck to invade someone in DS3 at Irithyll Catherdal, where my character got his head covered by some kind of drakness/humanity thinglike, and then I couldnt move, being slowly but permanently plunged into the air and losing some hp, while a message appeared on the screen "humanity stolen!", then just died after agonic minutes.
No matter what game the cheaters play it is always satisfying to see them lose with cheats.
There was one time back in DS3 I was putting down my white summon sign and when I got summoned the summoner immediately did some sort of wide area buff spell I didn't recognize. Then after a bit of chaotic mele where I wound up separated from the others with one of the invaders, I messed up took a fatal hit, and realized that no my life bar didn't drop nearly enough and it was refilling. Realizing that the player who'd summoned me had used some sort of cheat upgraded buff, I used the most 'sorry' emote I had and logged out of the world.

Just a few hours ago I had an invasion where the invader used two Lightreaper swords and took a lot of my hp. And I had the Cleric's sword in the corrupted version, upgraded to the maximum... I dealt 61 points of damage to him.

Recently I invaded a host and phantom in liurnia. It was my first invasion with a new build I had created. They were camping on the roof were the afk farmers used to hide but they were actively shooting with Greatbows. I now how to get up there but they could just shoot be down or cast frost mist. I switched to a different character that had Greatbows and is basically a higher level version of my main build. I wasn't able to bow them down but I got them by using the radahn sword ash, pulling them both down. They HATED the fact that I messed up their shitty plan and instantly equipped ps spears. Unfortunately I died shortly after. Then I invaded again, they were in the same spot again. My trick didn't work this time but at some point they went down to kill my co-invader. The host chainsawed him and I almost killed his phantom but then he got me too with the chainsaw. That wasn't too bad tho because now I could chainsaw him back (I only chainsaw against glitchers). When I invaded yet again I was thinking to myself how it wouldn't surprise me if the host used cheat engine on me and right after that he actually teleported behind be, killed me with the instant deathblight throwing knife and did that spell to crash my game. I quickly disconnected and fortunately my save wasn't corrupted. That person was the worst kind of player I have encountered after 870 hours of playtime. There was only one other case before when a host used cheat engine to teleport before I quit. I got my character send to ng+ two times in Ds3 during fightclubs so I don't mess around with that stuff.
EAC is one of the biggest scams to exist. A game I played before used EAC and their cheater issue was always out of control.
I mean it makes sense, the arena calls to most of the honorable sort, and the game is so one sided against invaders due to it being opt in and its open world nature meaning the invaded have all the power. it really droughts the number of honest invaders.
It is way worse now than it has been since release. I've had multiple crashers in the last two weeks one force reset my PC and every two days there is at least one obvious cheat engine, if not multiple. Some days I get around 3 or 4 hackers. It's gross.
I got called in as a cooperator and a cheater came in who hacked to make everyone but him take chip damage and constantly sleep, poison, and bounce you, which the bounce keeps you from leaving and the status due to them constantly procing non stop and the constant blood splatter from being punched 10 times a second for only five causes So much particles and crashes you to where you have to fully close the game from getting kicked from unstable frames.
Gonna be honest I thought the first guy was about to pull a Hacker-Jutsu and kick the hunter from your world somehow.

One time I was invaded at sl20, all my points in vigor... the dude had 2000 health, and nearly one shot me with a swift glintstone shard.
That normal, tho my character is 2300 hp around 100 lvl

It's at least funny that cheaters are still as braindead as in DS1 where you could yeet them down Undead Burg in the early game.
I think I encountered the lady phantom recently put me to sleep without hitting I thought it was poor connection because I couldn't land a hit
After Ds3, I simply can't stomach this anymore. I'm glad I didn't even try to stay in the pvp of this game since it's suffering from the same problem it's predecessor had.
