Dodging is Maidenless, says IGN. The bosses say, "Death is an inevitability one does not easily avoid."
FROM says : "Death come to all, many times, maidenless or inept goober alike. Death is all, Death is game."
And in cases like Malenia, dodging is a sodding requirement; You dodge, or she heals off every connection, regardless of if she actually delt damage.
I love how when he explained parrying, he didn't actually do a successful parry. Instead, he showed a clip where a godslayer sword chad parried his RoB spamming a** and then quickly cut the pointdown off.
He had absolutely no problem getting clips of himself spamming ashes of war like his life depended on it though lol.

I abused that so much. I had like 99% equip load with heavy armour and double giant crusher. Dont need to fat roll when you have bhs. All those mages felt so safe being 2 zipcodes away and behind 2 guys, casting their little spells, just to get bonked. I regret nothing.

Hearing "pvp doesn't last that long" is funny since I've encountered multiple fights where everyone just starts punching
Me and my cousin had an invasion last over 10 minutes because the guy kept trying to lure us over to a dragon, that we had teamed up to fight in the first place, but he interrupted us. I eventually just said 'fuck it' and charged him despite the dragon, while my cousin rained spells from on the hillside. I legitimately forgot if I lost or killed him, I'm pretty sure I was the host tho. I think we did eventually get him and then killed the dragon bu tit's been a while. I only really remember the situation as a whole and that it was that rot dragon outside the Dragon temple.
Pvp fights not lasting due to very high dmg by any participant is a problem, imo: while it's ok for invasions (chug, retreat and heal and so on) it really makes some duels last seconds, either if you're winning or losing... they took the fun out of pvp in ER... 😕
I really miss the DS2 PVP and the arenas there. So many unique weapons and interesting spells. I remember a couple times where I was running low equip load with the puzzling stone sword ; I would cast tranquil walk of peace and pretend to be affected (slow walking) before rushing at my opponent. That, or limit rolls and attacks so that people in duels would think I had less stamina until they left themselves open

If it was you guys, I died. I was doing varres quest but also being stubborn and wanting to win. I remember the fight clearly where the host kept shooting me with a bow from far while we were just staring at each other.

I think the dramatic pause before naming the omen's set was meant to be hesitation due to revoltion. HOWEVER, his cadence and delivery made it come off as voiceless and not intentional.

the moment you said 209, it's no longer a build. that's not even worth playing PvP with. and it uses the most sweaty weapons. they know absolutely NOTHING about PvP, and it shows also they clearly still live in 2020 with the PvP builds
Why it's not a build ? Like for me you can go as far with levels as you want.
I know prabobly swert people are sitting in low levels but like there are people around any level to play PvP.... except all maxed out I hit in one of my characters (almost always I have one character like that with all at 99) around NG+4 or NG+5 (don't remember after that in only once opened this character) and PvP over there (at least at that time) was shithole that you wants to forget as soon as you see it.
Edit. I forget to add but yeah I'm not big PvP player and mostly don't care about it.
@@KavilusS I just find leveling above lvl 200 and 300 quite pointless. On a high level you get too comfortable with being powerful. And then you become one of the max lv pvp players that can't even swap weapons properly. It's fine to be high level in PvE because it's fun. But the moment you take that same character to pvp you'll be mad that everyone kills you super fast because of high level.
@@paladin-ksai7667 okey, I kinda getting it, but I don't have problems with changing weapons on bringing my character to PVP...but I don't like it, mostly because 3 of 5 fights I meant with people who have overkill builds ( in every from software games) you know stuff like rivers of blood on low level character etc. So I'm mostly playing coop on bosses (with for now I can't because of forgetting to turn off cheat engine before playing elden ring) and PvP for me it's this little addition to those games that is quite funny for around 30 minutes after that is I have enough for long time but as I said I never liked PvP in Form Software games, it's not like I hate it either.
I didn't play when Elden Ring released, but seeing old bloodhound step gave me PTSD of something I haven't even experienced.
It was something. As in an invader, RoB wasn’t that bad as it’s easy to dodge (only against one person) but BHS made invasions last 40 minutes at times. Not fun

if they don't know what they are talking about they shouldn't make guides. Guides should be made by people who know wtf is going on. Otherwise they are just using their big name to waste the time of hundrets, if not thousands of players.

A bad guide you say ? An other bad guide is Syrobe making 6 mouths ago a PvE build for marais executioner sword for the main weapon on level 150, where he puts 68 points into intelligence to use Ranni ´s moon. Ho yeah, I remember that int scaling the marais executioner sword has
The reasoning was that marais executioner sword had magic damage, so making the magic resistance would make the damage even better (he also had only 30 arcane and 24 strength btw)

My first ever character build was draconic incantations. I built my character without worrying much about my equipment outside of what fit my character idea. The first time I got invaded was by a RoB user, and that experience made me reconsider a lot... I'm glad so many of these issues were addressed. People can be so obnoxious sometimes..

As someone who hasn’t followed the PvP scene at all, this was really interesting! As I admit: I’d probably have blindly believed half the stuff said in this IGN video :’)

Mispronouncing character names, showing end game spoilers without warning originally (characters and locations), and calling one of the most powerful party members the weakest out of all of them.
so how do soft caps work do you get less stat boost by upgrading attributes when you reach them?
Yeah. To give just examples
Before soft cap: 5HP per level.
Soft cap. 3HP per level.
Hard cap. 1HP per level.

I'm pretty sure he bought all his items with a credit card. Casually recommending hand of Melania as if that's easily obtainable by everyone is wild. Alot of people end up giving up if they can't find someone to cheese it for them.
Fire's Deadly Sin + Eclipse Shotel is what made me stop playing Elden Ring. I had summoned a red phantom in one of the hero tomb entrances and wanted to try out my Frost magic rapier build. When he summoned in, he looked at me and then ran behind a corner to set up the glitch. I, of course, with nowhere to run, died horribly.
He messaged me after, trying to justify his use of a glitch by saying I had a Moonveil on my hip. This is, of course, coming from a player wielding Rivers of Blood and was post-Moonveil Nerf.

I remember this. I'm nor sure if they thought they had for once come up with a winning formula all on their own and were to ignorant to realize it was unintended and broken. Or, they knew, and were haters of pvp and intentionally did this. After all, they did refer to rolling as spam. So in short...likely scrub.

You know I forgot that IGN made a "PVP" guide in the past. And seeing this now. Yeah like Roderika said "A broken clock is always right twice a day." In which sure he got about 2 things right...but everything else was horribly wrong. Your videos actually help me out more when it comes to PVPing and helped me improved on it. While this video here just...just has a lot of things wrong with it especially that glitch there.
Aside from that good to see Malina in a full video outside of shorts.

I can't get over the Soreseal comment... I'm not a PvP player, but even in PvE the Soreseal is trash at the level he is at, has been for well over 100 levels.
Did that really never click for him? Did he never get obliterated by a boss and think: "Ok, lemme see what happens if I take the seal off?" Even on my "semi-blind" playthrough, I felt like the Soreseal was junk once you got into late game bosses.
What do you use for the voices
I laugh at people getting their games rated/covered by IGN badly then remember the gem that was the nintendo home review of Library of Ruina that was so bad a full discord along with me had to nuke it just to have the reviewer play the game properly.
(He didnt even finish the tutorial... Or read the dialogue... In a story based game that might aswell be a visual novel with gameplay.)

If Oroboro is calling you out for making a Cheated PvP build, you've really pissed some people off, Oroboro quite literally gets stalked by Santa Claus any time he boots up a FromSoft title and still finds a way to troll and destroy cheaters...
Edit: Holy crap that Poise breakdown actually is nutty to know about... I had no idea you could get staggered on the first hit but tank the 2nd and gain priority... that's some amazing tech i can use for my builds lol... I only quest does such strats allow you to cast a spell that way? (Eg. staggered on first hit, tank 2nd one while mid casting, say, Crucible: Tail which has built in hyperarmour after the cast time)
What armor is shown at 9:19?
All I'm sayin is: ds2 making status resistance a % reduction instead of a status health bar would make those status applying bugs a lot less frustrating to deal with at the time.
What is the music at 3:55?
I only recently learned about the Great shield talisman only doing 5% in PVP. Been wasting a talisman slot for months.
If you want damage negation you are better off with equip load talismans for heavier armor that also helps with poise breakpoints
Whenever some talismans look op, you better double check for pvp - as I always do - because more often than not they are nerfed for pvp.
Don't really pvp in er, but did a decent amount in ds3 (which I find a lot better) and it also applies there

The reason their level is 209 is because they have no idea that people target certain levels to PVP at and they think everyone just levels up forever on their PVP character

@@mayleelove4332 That IS true. We can also theorise that they may, in fact, be a demigod who has chosen to grace us with Elden Ring knowledge, and that the level 209 was a highly deliberate choice made with wisdom that we mortals cannot comprehend.
I mostly stopped playing PvP in Elden Ring, outside the arenas, because of all the BS with people always having 2 friendly phantoms, and all 3 always ganking with AOEs and the most broken items at the time. It made invading worse than a chore, more like torture.
I hail from the glory days of From Soft PvP, where people would greet the host or invader, allow everyone to heal up fully, before refusing to heal during the fight, and honor the loser, where people had honor, and the most skilled player won, not the ones who had two or three extra helpers so they could just spam at the invader and make it literally impossible for them to do anything.
I miss the old PvP community, and I miss playing in Vaati's tournaments...
The only thing I will potentially defend is when he was mentioning the omen set; the pause was likely for light comedic value since the armor is so wtfugly

I never play PvP, I consider myself extremely bad against other players so I stick with my ash of war fun in PvE. But dear god, we truly only saw 1 R1 in the entire video. Jeez.
what is background music in the beguinning?
Do you have a video on how the scaleing works with the seals for weapon buffs? I did not know that and would like to know the mechanics for what is more optimal for my build if I should use infusions or weapon buffs
i can help. weapon buffs add extra elemental ar based on seals faith portion scaling(higher scaling on faith more damage).
don't bother with weapon buffs they are only viable in high lvls like 300+ use sacred infusion.
What I understand from the video as someone who has not played Elden Ring (I will play when the Expansion comes out): The IGN guy was at least 59 levels above meta level of PVP (from what I read the PVP is more active in levels 120-150),he suggested weapons with cool weapon arts for PVP (from what I remember back in DS3 some of the favorite victims of invaders were Farron Greatsword and Friede's Scythe users) instead of relative boring weapons (with Powerstance the best weapon categories for PVP are probably Spears , Halberds and thrusting swords) and he used glitches for PVP guide. OK Elden Ring is clearly DS4 and the IGN man is very talented as fraud.
He suggested weapons that are garbage at PvP and didn't explain ANYTHING PvP related. His guide could easily be applied to PvE and it wouldn't make a difference

Funny seeing Oroboro comment about cheating as he ,at least used to, use exploits all the time in his dark souls pvp videos. And wootibot (what ever happened to her, i know she changed the channel name but its gone now as well) supposedly outed him for using over leveled characters and faking it by showing another characters stats.
My friend and I got invaded by a person using the bloodflame bleed exploit in the later part of last year, we both thought it had been patched already.

It would make sense that the most commonly used weapons are the most predictable weapons.
Even if you play mind games and try to use the predictability of your chosen weapon to your advantage, the chances are that good players will test you out first and adjust playstyle accordingly.
