Had a guy use the chainsaw glitch at the haligtree roots grace site ( malenia’s boss fight grace ) the proceed crash our games ( was a friends party to help a struggling friend ) we all hard crashed at the same time ) some people are just great ) especially toxic cheaters lol
You're making the assumption they actually want to play the game, I honestly think they don't actually enjoy the game but they want to feel like they're good at the game: if I go back to DS3 the only people who still play have been playing for 5, 6, 7 years now however if I go to Elden Ring the vast majority of those players are new to the series or at the very least the average skill level is going to be much lower while the power of most strategies is much higher in ER meaning I can just abuse stuff like Rain of Arrows or Giantsflame or Dragon Breath and just randomly get 1-shots for very very little effort. It's the same reason people don't like skill-based matchmaking, they assume they're going to be the one noob stomping every round
Not really a story, but I think the best weapons to equip after encountering a toxic guy for 2nd, 3rd time is always a meme tool. Envoy greathorn, goat roll, anything with the buttslam ash, big finger, etc. Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing makes tryhards' brains boil more than getting trashed with meme setups.
The fun part of dealing with toxic players is that sometimes I make them so mad they become sore winners. Even when they win I can see they're seething.

Had a guy who I'd regularly face in the pvp arena. He'd always attack when i do a greating, always. He used every spell he could. He'd heal regularly. Every time i lost He'd teabag my body. There were times I'd get him on the defensive, and when that happened, i would win. One thing, though. Almost every time i won, he'd disconnect. When I saw him recently, he doesn't disconnect anymore, so I'm guessing he's getting used to losing.
It's always the mages who love to spam r1 or l1 trying to blast a spell off asap to get some free damage in while you wave or bow or buff. That and if you see dual lances you are probably getting jump attacked while you wave.

I like to make off-meta builds, so I started a new char for invasions and I tried to make like a St. Trina knight (I was around like RL23-ish), I'm kinda bad at PVP but I actually enjoy it, but I remember when I lost a fight and the host started to hatemail me, saying "Oh, you're using St. Trina Sword, you're shit, quit the game", while this dude and his piss yellow friend had the fuckin pizza cutter in Stormveil. I was so annoyed, but anyway, life keeps going, and at least I can enjoy a bath and the love of my parents
Pizza cutter is from Volcano Manor. My guess is that a fair number of toxic tryhards use various sleep builds, including the sword, so that's probably what he assumed you were. It goes to show that you can't always judge someone by the gear they're using. Sometimes a person just really likes what they think is an obscure or quirky weapon without knowing that it's a cancerous meta strat. Or even if they do know; why should they not use their favorite weapon just because of what other people will think? Themed builds are fun, it's just tough when there's so little to support said theme. Hopefully the DLC will expand our options considerably with new stuff.

the pizza cutter really isnt hard to get early at all actually. In pretty much all my new characters now i always rush to get a bunch of heals and just generally get a ton of bonfires and maps so i go to liurnia right away. All you have to do is talk to rya, go get the necklace, and then she tps you to the manor. Killing the npc there might be tougher at really early levels but the bonfire is literally in the same building as him so its not that bad.

Saw a great video on Reddit of an invader being double teamed. Then as soon as his summon died the host ran away for like 5 minutes before summoning his friend back. After that as soon as they killed the invader both the host and summon started t-bagging.

I never understood why people are so toxic. I've done my fair share of pvp, but I always make sure to be as polite as possible, I always wave and say hi, I always bow when I kill them, I leave people alone when they are afk, and if I end up invading someone who is about to fight a boss I just leave. maybe I'm just weird, I actually have no idea.

I once had a duel where the guy afterwards contacted me via steam ( i have no idea how he did that ). He called me a clown and that people like me are bad for pvp because i was level 140 and not 125. Keep in mind, this was only a month after release or so, so the pvp level meta was not jet established. Looking at his steam page revealed, that that person does that a lot. I don't get, why people take so much time to be hatefull against other people enjoing the same game.
IIRC, the PvP meta level has been around 120-125 in the Dark Souls games, so this guy probably expected something similar in Elden Ring. The thing is, Elden Ring made a lot of changes to softcaps compared to DS3, so a higher meta level makes more sense. So I can understand the guy being frustrated, but that doesn't excuse his maidenless behavior.
Idgaf about "level meta" lol. Im max level in DS2, DS3, and Elden Ring (no exploits just blood sweat and tears) and I've gotten similar messages where I'm called trash for actually maxing out my character. I just laugh, give them the middle finger emoji and go about my day. Usually occuring during our fight clubs where I normally act as referee.
@@BeastFenrisI got called a cheater once in DS2 while playing on the dragon covenant, I didn't knew soul memory doesn't count in the pvp of that covenant because I got summoned by someone probably at around level 200 while I was at 500+ They messaged me calling me a cheater and stuff, I told them that I was just way higher level and they were actually very polite after that
I've gotten tons of profile comments on steam but never messaged directly. I keep them on my account indefinitely as a badge of honor, because its so hilarious to me that people really feel the need to leave comments on your profile lol. I get that ER pvp can be absolutely bs sometimes and the ganks are really annoying to deal with when invading but, even if i get pissed because of moonveil spam i get mad for like 10 seconds or so and move on. The thing is there's no actual reward or anything for pvp, there's not even covenants like in dark souls so literally the only reason to pvp or invade is just for fun. So if you're sweating so hard and desperately want the ego boost from winning every fight then is it really even fun? Personally I just love pvping as i go through the game trying out different builds every playthrough.
In ds3 i invaded the same guy like 3 times promptly killing him each time. The next time i saw him i dropped him a bunch of embers, and just followed him around and killing every blue that summoned. He eventually made it to the boss i praised him and left. I've always strive to be the good invader.
This is not a story of a bad invader, but rather of me being the bad invader in this case (lvl 30), it was a couple that just started playing and killed the host with two hits, I felt so bad for the act because they looked like good people, the good part is that re-invading the area I crossed them again so as a token of apology I gave them some runes and some items for their trip, it was obvious that they were new players, I hope they have completed their odyssey through the lands between
I happened to kill a team cuz one of the co was overleveled dual vyke. What bro was trying to do was to ward off sweatlords who go down to beat new players cuz their spam at meta always fails. And I sparked them to death. Had a talk w one of them and yeah. Less than 10 hours Each and they wanted to do a DnD campaign but were defeated by a sweatlord w dragon halberd. Popped some freeze boluses and a dragon halberd for them so they fight crutch kings.

I had a toxic invader gank me when I was having a 1v1 with a friend, but he failed to kill me so we just jumped him, and after he starting calling me slurs in comments on my steam profile. I simply replied "1-0".
Ok might wanna grab a snack for this story, so my friend needed help getting through the shunning grounds and he summoned me to help him we were going through i was showing him the way when we got invaded by a guy using the white mask RoB bleed build, and we were in some tight pipes so it was super hard to fight against RoB so i switched out my deaths poker and placed flame on the floor which he stood in and died then he messaged me after this saying i was brain dead for using op spam weapons💀

Mix of a toxic player story, but also a funny story. In DS3 my friend, brother, and myself would use the white branch and play prophunt with invaders (using the item to call invaders to my world). One time, an invader (purple spirit) finally found us after searching for an hour (The dedication is amazing), and instead of fighting us, he joined us in our prop hunt. Not too long after, another invader (red spirit) joined the fray!!! This man immediately found us! We congratulated him with the "Very Good" stone but he started attacking. Fair enough, he just wanted some jolly PvP. However, as soon as he did, the other invader that joined us started attacking him! The purple got some good hits in, but surprise surprise, the red was cheating (took minimal damage). It was then that all 4 of us ganked the red invader. After some fighting and some deaths, I lead the invader to a ledge to where you die immediately. I baited an attack and rolled behind him and kicked him off. Shortly after, I received a message saying... Well... Some rather rude and racist words.
lmao me and my friends used to do the same thing. I remember specifically hiding from an invader in the 2nd dlc area with some of the headless herald dudes on the staircase and he couldn't find us after like an hour and eventually gave up. The white branches were so fun, I feel like its not the same in elden ring tbh but it can still work sometimes. I think the item options that you can turn into are just way more obvious. Also gravity always prevails lol, even against scummy cheaters.
Once invaded in the hidden haligtree entrance except the door wasn’t open so it was two overleveld phantoms and a host in a broom closet. Needless to say I didn’t win and sure enough they t-bagged and pointed down to oblivion
I always remember when I was playing dark souls 1 I rest in a bonfire and go to the bathroom and when I come back an invader was waiting me, he didn't kill me he was just waiting then I get up make a reverence he make one as well then we start killing each other, one of the best experiences in online gaming in my life. The worst thing I’ve encountered was in the arena. It was supposed to be a team match but my friend got kicked, so I fought a 2-1match. Instead of fighting one at a team, the both jumped me. That’s fine, no problem. But they were tea bagging and pointing down on kills, even though I wasn’t using a meta, cheese setup.
Me and a friend literally encountered probably the most toxic individual last night. Had was host who was a meta setup at around rl90 and had a buddy with main hand halberd and off hand rapier with tree Sentinel armor. But the buddy was in as an invader and the host had blues on so he wanted to ensure at any point he only had to fight one invader at a time. Me and my buddy eventually got in as two Reds cause I managed to get rid of his friend as a blue. He then ran to rennalas boss door. He hadn't opened the door so he did and then proceeded to sit there acting all high and might with a greatbow and golem arrows. Then acted like he out smarted us by saying so because he was in an unreachable spot till he got a blue which wasn't his buddy but we know he and his friend were upset about that cause after we both unfortunately lost he messaged asking why we were scared of his friend to have blocked them showing that all he was trying to do was stall for his friend to get in as a blue which never happened. The biggest case of shitter syndrome I've ever experienced in a souls game ever.
i faced that maidenless guy the other day. nice to know i wasn't going mad, i've mad some beefy level 30 builds but none with 30 in a stat and 40 ish vigour that wasn't flask boosted. it struck me as odd when i finally died and i hit him with a +2 flaming strike fire banished halberd. it did 97 damage, for reference a fire halberd with flaming strike boost has about 310 or so damage stat and on full bullgoat has hit about 250. so for them to take 97 damage was what tipped me off, the 30 faith was the final nail cuz they never drank from a flask. you can get 30 faith with flask and talisman but not with that health and damage reduction

I play as a cooperator and for awhile I had a pretty toxic attitude towards invaders, but I think now it was only because some of them were pretty nasty. Not all of them are, though, and some of them turn out to be weird or hilarious. I hope this doesn't sound too offensive (I guess this was technically toxic behavior), but this one invader showed up dressed like a clansman, complete with a torch and a whip. For a second I tried to fight him, but he signaled that he didn't want to fight. I put my weapon away and he dropped a white robe and hood, and a torch and a whip and some... cotton. I'm sorry to admit that I put on the outfit and equipped the weapons, and he jumped for joy and we made our way to the Shaded Castle. My friend who I was playing with severally disapproved, and to this day he still occasionally berates me.
Mr peeler has been doing this exact same thing at MAG for almost a year now. i have the same "ezzzzzzz" hatemail from him dating back to march. i ran into this guy twice and both times i would kill him, he'd alt f4, and i would reinvade over and over until he logged out. the last time i ran into him, i killed him 4 times in a row, he dc'd every time, and then he killed me once and left an "ezzzzzzz" comment. lmao.

Elden ring doesn't have properly a rank or a "prestigious" system that counts your wins against other players. You get nothing ot lose nothing from winning or losing. People that try desperately to win games with advantages, buffs and op stuff are actually feeding their own ego with low effort achievements that mean nothing. Pvp is just for fun and these people take it so serious that need to gank to feel special in their lives. Good video! I love to see players like these ones get humiliated

TBH invading in all Souls games is stupid bullshit, even if I've had fun (mostly DS3) it's just not a good experience. Elden Ring in particular I don't feel accomplished having jumped a single invader with the lads or being chased around the level while he uses npc aggro. Then there's the dickheads who think winning is all that's fun so they pull out the greatbow/dual great spears and loosen their colon in their seats. Lest I forget just being able to stomp on casual newbies who just want a little co-op.

personally, i love souls pvp, but not in ER. The stupid system requires you to always invade a gank (for the most part, very few people use tongue unless they're trolling), so reds are already forced to play sweaty. Honestly, a Bloodborne system of opening you for invasion when you use the Finger Remedy would have worked better.
My mask is racism, I actively try to be creative with my insults, one word is lazy, you need to dig into their culture, find what hurt's them emotionally, and spiritually, but it also needs to combine truths, but in reality, with out the mask I am very different. I remember chain invading an absolutely grotesquely pathetic excuse for a sentient human being who was using bleed PSSS in Patches's cave with Taunter's Toungue. I was playing with an unoptimized faith/int build, and the bloated tumourus mass glubbering in its sweat-fill lair somewhere in its mother's basement would repeatedly teabag like a rabid ape in heat and thrown rot and dung pots each time they squished my unoptimized build. I ALMOST went back with my dual Mohg's build but decided to not bring myself to their level of tryharding. Blocked them on Steam and moved on.

I like to make off-meta builds, so I started a new char for invasions and I tried to make like a St. Trina knight (I was around like RL23-ish), I'm kinda bad at PVP but I actually enjoy it, but I remember when I lost a fight and the host started to hatemail me, saying "Oh, you're using St. Trina Sword, you're shit, quit the game", while this dude and his piss yellow friend had the fuckin pizza cutter in Stormveil. I was so annoyed, but anyway, life keeps going, and at least I can enjoy a bath and the love of my parents
Pizza cutter is from Volcano Manor. My guess is that a fair number of toxic tryhards use various sleep builds, including the sword, so that's probably what he assumed you were. It goes to show that you can't always judge someone by the gear they're using. Sometimes a person just really likes what they think is an obscure or quirky weapon without knowing that it's a cancerous meta strat. Or even if they do know; why should they not use their favorite weapon just because of what other people will think?
Themed builds are fun, it's just tough when there's so little to support said theme. Hopefully the DLC will expand our options considerably with new stuff.

the pizza cutter really isnt hard to get early at all actually. In pretty much all my new characters now i always rush to get a bunch of heals and just generally get a ton of bonfires and maps so i go to liurnia right away. All you have to do is talk to rya, go get the necklace, and then she tps you to the manor. Killing the npc there might be tougher at really early levels but the bonfire is literally in the same building as him so its not that bad.

Saw a great video on Reddit of an invader being double teamed. Then as soon as his summon died the host ran away for like 5 minutes before summoning his friend back. After that as soon as they killed the invader both the host and summon started t-bagging.

I never understood why people are so toxic. I've done my fair share of pvp, but I always make sure to be as polite as possible, I always wave and say hi, I always bow when I kill them, I leave people alone when they are afk, and if I end up invading someone who is about to fight a boss I just leave. maybe I'm just weird, I actually have no idea.

I once had a duel where the guy afterwards contacted me via steam ( i have no idea how he did that ). He called me a clown and that people like me are bad for pvp because i was level 140 and not 125. Keep in mind, this was only a month after release or so, so the pvp level meta was not jet established. Looking at his steam page revealed, that that person does that a lot.

IIRC, the PvP meta level has been around 120-125 in the Dark Souls games, so this guy probably expected something similar in Elden Ring. The thing is, Elden Ring made a lot of changes to softcaps compared to DS3, so a higher meta level makes more sense. So I can understand the guy being frustrated, but that doesn't excuse his maidenless behavior.

Im max level in DS2, DS3, and Elden Ring (no exploits just blood sweat and tears) and I've gotten similar messages where I'm called trash for actually maxing out my character. I just laugh, give them the middle finger emoji and go about my day. Usually occuring during our fight clubs where I normally act as referee.

They messaged me calling me a cheater and stuff, I told them that I was just way higher level and they were actually very polite after that
I've gotten tons of profile comments on steam but never messaged directly. I keep them on my account indefinitely as a badge of honor, because its so hilarious to me that people really feel the need to leave comments on your profile lol. I get that ER pvp can be absolutely bs sometimes and the ganks are really annoying to deal with when invading but, even if i get pissed because of moonveil spam i get mad for like 10 seconds or so and move on. The thing is there's no actual reward or anything for pvp, there's not even covenants like in dark souls so literally the only reason to pvp or invade is just for fun. So if you're sweating so hard and desperately want the ego boost from winning every fight then is it really even fun? Personally I just love pvping as i go through the game trying out different builds every playthrough.

In ds3 i invaded the same guy like 3 times promptly killing him each time. The next time i saw him i dropped him a bunch of embers, and just followed him around and killing every blue that summoned. He eventually made it to the boss i praised him and left. I've always strive to be the good invader.
This is not a story of a bad invader, but rather of me being the bad invader in this case (lvl 30), it was a couple that just started playing and killed the host with two hits, I felt so bad for the act because they looked like good people, the good part is that re-invading the area I crossed them again so as a token of apology I gave them some runes and some items for their trip, it was obvious that they were new players, I hope they have completed their odyssey through the lands between
I happened to kill a team cuz one of the co was overleveled dual vyke. What bro was trying to do was to ward off sweatlords who go down to beat new players cuz their spam at meta always fails. And I sparked them to death. Had a talk w one of them and yeah. Less than 10 hours Each and they wanted to do a DnD campaign but were defeated by a sweatlord w dragon halberd. Popped some freeze boluses and a dragon halberd for them so they fight crutch kings.

Ok might wanna grab a snack for this story, so my friend needed help getting through the shunning grounds and he summoned me to help him we were going through i was showing him the way when we got invaded by a guy using the white mask RoB bleed build, and we were in some tight pipes so it was super hard to fight against RoB so i switched out my deaths poker and placed flame on the floor which he stood in and died then he messaged me after this saying i was brain dead for using op spam weapons💀

Mix of a toxic player story, but also a funny story. In DS3 my friend, brother, and myself would use the white branch and play prophunt with invaders (using the item to call invaders to my world). One time, an invader (purple spirit) finally found us after searching for an hour (The dedication is amazing), and instead of fighting us, he joined us in our prop hunt. Not too long after, another invader (red spirit) joined the fray!!! This man immediately found us! We congratulated him with the "Very Good" stone but he started attacking. Fair enough, he just wanted some jolly PvP. However, as soon as he did, the other invader that joined us started attacking him! The purple got some good hits in, but surprise surprise, the red was cheating (took minimal damage). It was then that all 4 of us ganked the red invader. After some fighting and some deaths, I lead the invader to a ledge to where you die immediately. I baited an attack and rolled behind him and kicked him off. Shortly after, I received a message saying... Well... Some rather rude and racist words.
lmao me and my friends used to do the same thing. I remember specifically hiding from an invader in the 2nd dlc area with some of the headless herald dudes on the staircase and he couldn't find us after like an hour and eventually gave up. The white branches were so fun, I feel like its not the same in elden ring tbh but it can still work sometimes. I think the item options that you can turn into are just way more obvious. Also gravity always prevails lol, even against scummy cheaters.
Once invaded in the hidden haligtree entrance except the door wasn’t open so it was two overleveld phantoms and a host in a broom closet. Needless to say I didn’t win and sure enough they t-bagged and pointed down to oblivion
I always remember when I was playing dark souls 1 I rest in a bonfire and go to the bathroom and when I come back an invader was waiting me, he didn't kill me he was just waiting then I get up make a reverence he make one as well then we start killing each other, one of the best experiences in online gaming in my life. The worst thing I’ve encountered was in the arena. It was supposed to be a team match but my friend got kicked, so I fought a 2-1match. Instead of fighting one at a team, the both jumped me. That’s fine, no problem. But they were tea bagging and pointing down on kills, even though I wasn’t using a meta, cheese setup.
Me and a friend literally encountered probably the most toxic individual last night. Had was host who was a meta setup at around rl90 and had a buddy with main hand halberd and off hand rapier with tree Sentinel armor. But the buddy was in as an invader and the host had blues on so he wanted to ensure at any point he only had to fight one invader at a time. Me and my buddy eventually got in as two Reds cause I managed to get rid of his friend as a blue. He then ran to rennalas boss door. He hadn't opened the door so he did and then proceeded to sit there acting all high and might with a greatbow and golem arrows. Then acted like he out smarted us by saying so because he was in an unreachable spot till he got a blue which wasn't his buddy but we know he and his friend were upset about that cause after we both unfortunately lost he messaged asking why we were scared of his friend to have blocked them showing that all he was trying to do was stall for his friend to get in as a blue which never happened. The biggest case of shitter syndrome I've ever experienced in a souls game ever.
i faced that maidenless guy the other day. nice to know i wasn't going mad, i've mad some beefy level 30 builds but none with 30 in a stat and 40 ish vigour that wasn't flask boosted.
it struck me as odd when i finally died and i hit him with a +2 flaming strike fire banished halberd. it did 97 damage, for reference a fire halberd with flaming strike boost has about 310 or so damage stat and on full bullgoat has hit about 250. so for them to take 97 damage was what tipped me off, the 30 faith was the final nail cuz they never drank from a flask. you can get 30 faith with flask and talisman but not with that health and damage reduction

I play as a cooperator and for awhile I had a pretty toxic attitude towards invaders, but I think now it was only because some of them were pretty nasty. Not all of them are, though, and some of them turn out to be weird or hilarious. I hope this doesn't sound too offensive (I guess this was technically toxic behavior), but this one invader showed up dressed like a clansman, complete with a torch and a whip. For a second I tried to fight him, but he signaled that he didn't want to fight. I put my weapon away and he dropped a white robe and hood, and a torch and a whip and some... cotton. I'm sorry to admit that I put on the outfit and equipped the weapons, and he jumped for joy and we made our way to the Shaded Castle. My friend who I was playing with severally disapproved, and to this day he still occasionally berates me.

Elden ring doesn't have properly a rank or a "prestigious" system that counts your wins against other players. You get nothing ot lose nothing from winning or losing.
People that try desperately to win games with advantages, buffs and op stuff are actually feeding their own ego with low effort achievements that mean nothing.
Pvp is just for fun and these people take it so serious that need to gank to feel special in their lives.

TBH invading in all Souls games is stupid bullshit, even if I've had fun (mostly DS3) it's just not a good experience. Elden Ring in particular I don't feel accomplished having jumped a single invader with the lads or being chased around the level while he uses npc aggro. Then there's the dickheads who think winning is all that's fun so they pull out the greatbow/dual great spears and loosen their colon in their seats. Lest I forget just being able to stomp on casual newbies who just want a little co-op.

personally, i love souls pvp, but not in ER. The stupid system requires you to always invade a gank (for the most part, very few people use tongue unless they're trolling), so reds are already forced to play sweaty. Honestly, a Bloodborne system of opening you for invasion when you use the Finger Remedy would have worked better.

I remember chain invading an absolutely grotesquely pathetic excuse for a sentient human being who was using bleed PSSS in Patches's cave with Taunter's Toungue. I was playing with an unoptimized faith/int build, and the bloated tumourus mass glubbering in its sweat-fill lair somewhere in its mother's basement would repeatedly teabag like a rabid ape in heat and thrown rot and dung pots each time they squished my unoptimized build. I ALMOST went back with my dual Mohg's build but decided to not bring myself to their level of tryharding. Blocked them on Steam and moved on.
As a non pvp person, I really enjoy watching that kind of video, so I can avoid pvp even more
