- Elden Ring is INCREDIBLY popular, and it was skibidi toilet kind of popular before. Sadly, big platforms like @IGN with their PvP guide, and @RageGamingVideos with their TIER LIST, are a huge source of misinformation for the playerbase of this popular action role-playing game.
I HATE misinformation. I hate when people post their opinions as fact without having done the proper testing and research before. Tier Lists are supposed to be accurate and informative and they should be a tool to point people in the right direction. When people that don't know what they're talking about have a big platform, misinforming tier lists like these tend to be posted without any filter, generating chaos among the community. Luckily, thanks to you guys, I have a platform too, and I can speak against it.

Coming from monster hunter i could not STAND his channel. His misinfo is so fucking annoyying and he would alwaya screw people over with builds when doing stuff like kulve tarroth or safi jiva by providing inaccurate builds. Glad to see he hasn't changed one bit :T.

I am a fan of ragegaming videos, and all I can say is you're right. While Hollow likes pvp the most of the bunch, it is painfully obvious that his tier list is skewed in a horrid misdirection.

I've been dominating with it due to the following reasons:
1) Strong attack has deceptively long range and stuns people out of jumping, running and dodge attacks (yes, even if you have poise)
2) Regular & Running Attacks are really quick.
3) Nebula stunlocks people long enough so you can swap to Moonveil and Transient Moonlight them which kills anyone.
4) You can do a strong attack flip cancel (style points)

There's something so incredibly venomous about Ranni's voice that it's absolutely perfect for this kind of video.
It's the 'posh' in it that does it. It adds an emphasis to annoyance and vitriol that you can't get with a more 'common' vocal elocution. A well-articulated and enunciated diatribe will always hit harder and make one feel worse than a less refined one.

Speaking as someone who just loves to play around and experiment with this game, I will always have a special place in my heart for the holy trinity of food-related weapons: the angry spinning butterknife, the sharp spaghetti, and the pizza cutter.

One of the issues I found with their "tierlists" is they would always make the claim "this list is for PvE and PvP" like PvE and PvP are identical experiences when they just aren't.

That's how I feel about their Monster Hunter content too. It's just their MO with these games, I suppose. It's obnoxious, but it does provide a laugh if someone brings it up in a discussion, whether when looking for advice or asserting that it's the truth.

Dont forget Mohg spear bleed has the occult effect and scales woth arcane, and the mroe smitH you put in that arcane bleed scaling goes up easily going beyond 90 bleed build up per hit. But of course he didn't even know how arcane scalings work.

@@adradox I was using the quote as an example of how braindead people can be for the sake of efficiency and regarding the tier list, Waifu is right about most of the weapons because of how overpowered they can really be but what's the difference between most of, if not all of them? Press 1 or 2 buttons in the same way repeatedly and that's no different from spamming in any other game. Is it efficient? Yes. Is it good? Yes. Is it creative at this point when everyone is hopping on the same boat till it's overflowing? No. Basically over a year of PvP and what do I see? Almost full bullgoats with a white mask and those same naginata's spamming the same double poke 30+ times because it was overpowered and broken beyond belief and they bag you because you were trying to have fun with a build you thought was unique and it got curbstomped into the ground because the Meta was too strong for your creative setup to ever have a chance at winning. Then after that people try the same build they were using and start winning and that makes people think differently after they win and then it spreads as a league of copycat's just trying to get an advantage cause they're more concerned with winning than actually having fun.
Edit: Yes I'm complaining to someone on the internet about the lack of effort players have in games these days and it doesn't matter what anyone says, we have gotten much lazier and none can deny that.
As a Night Rider Halberd user I can confirm it's a great weapon especially with Phantom Slash never let me down in both PvE and PvP
By force of habit I must have phantom slash since the uncloaked night rider wields it in the slash.

They are right though, takers flame is very easy to dodge, or literally just run right when they use it. it has very choreographed attacks. it's best used for pve.

This! Even veterans from Souls got to 30vig and stopped because in those games that was enough to ride through endgame and then 40vig for ng+. Elden Ring you kinda wanr 50 for mountaintops then 60 for ng+

As a 70 year old mouse and keyboard cripple, I use these tier lists as suggestions for which weapons I should try to work into my builds. Where a weapon goes on a tier list is very subjective, and depends on your play style. For example, the Moonvale Katana is an awesome weapon, but as a mouse and keyboard player the light and heavy attacks require knuckle cracking stretches and can't help but come off slow unless you are twenty something. I found several other weapons not even mentioned on many tier lists that helped me survive early to mid game battles. The beauty of Elden Ring is that there are so many different weapons and ashes of war combos to try, and occasionally you can find one that compensates for your physical inadequacies, and allows you to have fun getting regularly slaughtered, with some less frequent successes. And NO, learning to use a controller at my age is not an option. Aging joints and ligaments will betray you.
I grew up with the guys who run RageGaming, I used to make videos with them and they’re really great people, but I can’t pretend I didn’t absolutely love this video :’) It was hilarious, I’ll definitely be checking out more of your channel! Also shoutout to Argentina! o7

I've never used the Nightrider Glaive, but I really love the Guardian's Swordspear. Its moveset is unique to it and the Loretta's War Sickle (which is dogshit) and it's AR on Keen exceeds the Heavy Nightrider if STR and DEX are equal. I usually pair it with AoW Piercing Fang, and it rarely lets me down.
Guardian's is nice. Sad that the R1 does level 1 hitstun and doesn't have priority
False: at any level of strenght, expecially higher ones (60+), when 2 handed and given a good hyper armor ashes of war (I use braggart's roar) with the right talismans (axe + roar + spear), the nightrider melts hp, a simple uncharged r2 with massive hyper-armor will do more damage than a rkr full charged R2 from G's SwordSpear. (Tested on 2 builds with 66 Strenght and 80 dex respectively with the same opponent build: full tree sentinel + boiled crab on RL 137, Hvy Nightrider and Keen G's SS obviously, the second one wins in speed like most dex weapon, but the hyper-armor and the big difference in damage between the two makes the first one more viable and more dangerous in my opinion)
@@kuro2032ood luck landing the charged R2 in pvp, generally guardians is better for most builds because of the low requirements, but for pure str nightriders is better. Also banished knights moveset is better than both for pvp, idk why ppl keep calling nightriders "the best halberd"

@@cybernigga2855 there's a reason, with the hyperarmor AoW + spear talisman there is no trading win against this halberd, even a 2 hands colossal would lose trust me, and getting a r2 in isnt to difficult, and you only need one, because you have a 90% chance to 1000+ damage without even charging it.
you dont need to charge r2, when you got the time right you can get the first one in a trade with hyper-armor and the second uncharged to roll catch (it's really easy to do once you get the gist of it) for 1500+ dmg on medium and sometimes even on heavy armors.
It has everything: biggest damage of all halberds (and not by 10 dmg but by another digit basically), speed, and also a good range (despite not being the best obv). the moveset is the boring one but you only need running r1 and r2 and uncharged r2, you're gonna bi-shot opponents left and right without even charging (the uncharged r2 comes very fast).
Not to mention the OP builds showcases where they are level 250 something, and doing 1/10th of the tree avatar's health bar. One can make a rl 15 fire damage multiplicative build which will do similar damage.
I don't usually comment or think too much about those tier lists because I think they are for people new to the game or helpful in surface level. Most things are viable in pve given a tailored build so the weapon placements there don't make sense to me, figured maybe new comers like those videos.
Come on buddy let's not get crazy. I understand that riding the hate train can be fun sometimes but your numbers are utter nonsense and the scenario is just made up bullshit.

the wing of astel is crazy for chip damage with the light heavy regardless. I powerstance it with the falchion and it's like casting swift glintstone shard without the fp cost, so you don't have to level mind if you don't plan on casting spells. it works great for me in pvp and I don't think it's mediocre.
A couple of ideas tossed around on their channel have helped me. Others, I just completely disregarded because I had already been there and done that. PvP channels tend to give me the most information on how to fight in pvp

As of 1.09.1 I genuinely dont think you can make a singular general tierlist anymore; due to how scaling and poise damage changes wether you're playing pve or pvp.
Sucks people like this actually get more views instead of people like you, steelovsky and others who actually know which weapons are good

Among all PvP enthusiasts Steelovsky is the only guy that I frankly dislike tbh. Dude has more than 2000 hours in the game, but didn't even beat it once, at least without ganking every boss with his friends (from what I know). Running super sweaty meta builds and always roasting the game for PvP aspect 24/7 won't bring your content much attention. Leave the guy without cheat engine and mods and his channel will cease to exist.

@@Jira-v Speaking generally, my top 3 favorite weapons should be somber and therefore known for L2, yes. My favorite infusable weapons are BKGS, lance and great epee

I have seen a few videos that have cropped up from Onlywaifu on my Elden Ring play through. I like these videos the best. The commentary on the videos is professional and by far my favourite Elden Ring content I have seen on RUclips.
The best thing about the great club is that we got free damage to it as they didn't lower the physical portion at all from what I can remember, but it still doesn't make it appealing to use. Much like that list is to watch

wow i had this video recommended by yt after watching some elden ring stuff again, i was 3 minutes in enjoying it and i was like "wait wat onlywaifu i know this channel" and all the member berries suddently kicked in. i remember watching all those ds3 pvp vids back in the day, i thought u wouldn't post again after so long, i had no clue u came back since elden ring lol this is a trip so much content to watch now :D
Yea, can't take ragegamingvideos seriously when it comes to soulsbourne/souls likes. In monster hunter they're not that bad but anything outside of that, shows how bad they can get. It baffles me with their choices of things, when it comes to PvE, naginata and scavengers are absolutely disgusting with bleed builds, the fact that they put those weapons in the lowest tier is maddening. Thank god I only watch ppl like you, steel and lost when it comes to Elden ring PvP.

You want to succeed in the new PATCH?
1. Learn spacing - Tip: if you can use block, you can run and turn very fast
1.1 Learn spacing - learn about latency, this will reduce a lot of frustration, "shadow hits"
2. Long weapons - Stay out of range, you will lose priority to short weapons Tip: try multi-hit ashes of war
2.1 Long weapons - the heavier, the more resistance to stager, while attacking, which also increases your resistance to damage a little -
3. Short weapons - (except daggers) 1st hits do stun! Against long weapons, try to attack in between his attacks, then you stagger him and can keep attacking
3.1 Short weapons - the next attacks will only have half the stagger power, so if he is full armored, you do not stagger him with ur 2nd attack any more (1 handed)
3.2 Short weapons - when you run and then attack again, it counts as 1st attack. - very good for Spears and stuff too -
4. Nearly everything that hits multiple times, be it magic or ashes of war, is very strong.
5. off-hand Estus, speers ... very good - stagger enemy with every hit -
6. off-hand great weapon... very good - gives you a fuck ton of poise, if you wield a lighter weapon in your main hand -
And finally,
-> you can always learn how to "quick swap", which will greatly boost your win rate or have options equipped
-> dont forget, there is magic in this game and there are combos in this game. Since light weapons are better now, using magic is also better than ever.

Bro i swear to god i have been hating that weapon with all my heart💀 like the weapon itself is not that bad but i have just been finding this one dude in the arena that does the l2 into r1 to catch you off guard with the timing and worst part of it is he uses the tree sentinel armor.
So basically i cannot do shit except trade or run away because i always play as a melee build with no more than 50 or 45 poise and i've been trying to use different weapons from the usual poky pokies

I know this is late but I'm a personal enjoyer of the star fists and using duel godslayer greatswords, when i first got the godslayer greatsword my friend did the tower at the same but didn't like the sword so he gave it to me. From that day my character went from being called Joseph Oogstar (named it adger jjba and because i like going with oonga boonga builds in my first plays which meant level 1 wrench) and i renamed her to blackflame oni cause I didn't have enough space for blackflame crow, and i built my set up around my strength and faith for maxing damage, armor for increasing jump attack without using the talisman and increased damage with stat buff from armor pieces. By the time I had both at plus 10 I was in the ashen capitol and I nearly killed Godfrey first try because i was surprised on how much damage i was doing in phase one that I accidentally skipped the cutscene and dropped my controller at the same time and got three shot second phase

@@Mustafa-yl8co It's good in pvp too. Usually locking off to aim is the best option. Sometimes you can predict where they will dodge as well and you see them directly run into the weapon art and it's funny

I personally main the Marais, and while I won't say that there aren't faster AoWs with bigger hitboxes and overall more accessible utility, it's still a great mixup tool! Getting good with it is more about conditioning & reading your opponent than overwhelming them with force. It's more of a punish tool that you can interweave into your combos and call people out with than your ace in the hole that'll save you in most situations.
The real star of the moveset though is the standing R2.

I am a simple man , all I need to be happy is banished knights greatsword, dragon helberd , godskin stitcher and short bow , simple shield with carian retaliation .... Maybe jar cannon on rare occasions.
One of my favorite builds I’ve done was with the grave scythe with Blackflame tornado, and it would absolutely shred malenia with the constant stunlock and the damage of time effect Blackflame had over it. It was much better than these s tier weapons
