Fun hackers trying to play the mini-boss in souls games were always great but unfortunately Malcolm rarely ever did that, and while hes also contributed his knowledge for cheat engine over the years so that we could have some pretty interesting mods hes also the reason people are scared to go online in these games, maybe not him directly now but people who've seen what hes done and are repeating it for the laughs.

He didnt only target streamers, but average players too, softbanned many of them, who got banned and in order to remove the ban, you had to communicate with bandai support where they told you to delete your save file, no matter how much time you spent on it. Cringe you just eat all his lies and accept it.

I see many ppl believing him but many other people had bad experiences with him, when its mentioned “huh it must be someone else using his name because he didnt stream doing that”. I despise his attitude, it’s not “good fun” at all, even when he’s not getting anyone banned he just ruins their experience. and all you first worlders who say “its just a game bro what if you get banned” some people have to pay 1/3 of their salary to buy AAA games, and they sure don’t like getting banned for some “troll”.

Is he merely pretending to be the supervillain of the DS community, or is it only pretend because he lacks the means to do what he wants legitimately.
I agree, he was doing what he was able to do in the period that he was able to do it. The moment he admitted to soft banning that contradicted everything he said previously lol. He ain’t doing it now for a reason.

I personally couldn't give less of a fuck what his motivations were/are or what he actually did. Hacking a game and screwing with other players is maidenless behavior and you will never convince me otherwise (I say "you" in the general sense)
So, is there a reason you said nothing at all about him Eggheading, cursing and equipment breaking new players on Dark Souls Remastered for an age, with a stated purpose of making people rage quit the game, which he in fact had streamed multiple sessions of? Like, that kind of dick move is at the very least "delete character" worthy, never mind people whom don't know any better and try to struggle further into the game like that.
Praising somebody for ruining Souls games PVP must be a new low for your channel, how can you whitewash his actions when he's directly responsible for "Just ALTF4 if you get invaded" or people ALTF4ing when you drop items

Next time are you planning on doing a video on people using the DS3 exploit to send you into NG+ and lock their savegame and call them funny whacky hackers? I just perceive this video as really positive on reynolds, when in truth he is just a douche ruining the online feature of one of the best game series and you enabling him by giving him a platform to portray himself as a misunderstood poor person.
@@Tec12122 Beautifully stated. Shitstains like reynolds are why the game's online features were locked out for almost a full year. There's nothing "whacky" about those "shenanigans."
The fact that he tried to justify it by saying it was to prove to the game devs that it was possible proves he went to far and was likely lying to save his ass. He could have just opened two different characters had them eventually meet up and "PVP" to see if the other character got soft banned. Since he is a hacker I doubt he that cant open the game on different computers or something and even then if he wants to test something like that it's only ok if he does it to himself doing it to a bunch of others because it will save him some time and money but still get the word out by costing so many other people their time and money ain't ok. It's a damn game not life or death. He did not need to cost so many people hours of their lives. And potentially cause them to have to buy a whole new copy just to be able to play the game fairly on a different account. Infact this grade A dumbass could have tried to give the files for the hacked dagger among other things he did, to the game devs anonymously and told them what it could do and why soft banning is an issue. He did not need to go that far period.
He straight-up admitted he just likes to stir up shit. What disgusts me is how many other people are completely okay with him doing it. We live in a society that has normalized bullying.

@@ungone7133 This is literally not true lol, Malcolm has regularly recorded every single session and its been proven his actions have NEVER gotten somebody banned. Keep spreading lies, kiddo.

You didn’t even *check* if there was a fire! There was never a fire lol. Except for that one week where I actually *did* start fires”.
But there IS a fire, aka, the souls series anticheat being nonexistent... Also the comparison to fire is too extreme, not like he put anyone in any danger. Even the hackers/wreckers from old counter strike days that'd upload viruses to your computer and destroy your windows entirely didn't put anyone in any actual risk, although they did cause a ton more frustration and possibly cost people a pretty penny and possibly even cut their income if their computer had work related stuff... But simply destroying your game? Yeah, it's on the developers, and no matter how horrid the hacking, as long as it doesn't harm your computer, all it does in the end of the day is show how incompetent the developers are, which can only be solved by change and raising the bar.

I honestly can't understand how anyone can support a pile of crap like this guy, or any other hackers in an online game. Nobody gave their consent to have their gaming experience be ruined by a cheater. I would not send him death threats, but he totally had it coming. People who cheat just to fuck up other players' experience should get a nasty lawsuit in their face. This one is no exception. The only exceptions are visual hacks and creating modded game versions.
He's annoying but he definitely didn't deserve death threats or a lawsuit for just being a troll and running cheat scripts in a game with no anticheat lol
Teaching AFKers a lesson does not redeem him for going out of his way to ruin everyone's game experiences. And then he either lies to Kotaku or he lies to his viewers, which shows a real lack of integrity on his part. All in the name of a little short term entertainment. It doesn't matter if he didn't actually softban people, he still sapped the fun out of the game for people that just wanted to actually play. Maybe if he did it specifically to make FeomSoft do something about cheating online, that would be one thing. But he's simply nothing short of absurd, both in his actions and motivation. Guy like him deserves an IP ban from FromSoft's servers, even if he "doesn't grief anymore due to lack of a reason to do it". It's nowhere near as bad as doxxing or the death threats, but he still actively made thr $60 experience less enjoyable for the more innocent targets of his fuckery.
As bad as the doxxing and death threats were, you HAVE to admit that he earned that kind of treatment from his victims. Play stupid games and you win stupid prizes.

@@superman91111111Are you referring to 9:10? That seems to be the only point where this video mentions restarting the game as a fix. In fact, the video doesn't really talk about the ER death loop soft lock, though you do see an example of it near the beginning. IIRC, you actually had to do a very precise set of inputs at the exact right instant in order to get out of the loop. I doubt most people this guy preyed on knew about this fix, if it was even discovered when the soft locks were going on. At the end of the day, the guy was/is trash, and no amount of soft peddling his antics, as this video does, is going to change that. How so? @@luxinterior54 yes, every Souls game has this safety mechanic that enables "wrong warps", that's what the speedrunners call it when they use it for skips. It's basically a reset of your spawn location to the default spawn location of the current area. I got sent into a death loop in DS3 and the ONLY way out of it (it would endlessly reoccur upon reloading the safe file from the main menu and could otherwise only be helped by loading an oder safe file if you had backed it up) was performing said "wrong warp" which is done by quitting out of the game in this very small time frame between your spawn and your death, so the game can't register your location and respawns you at said default spawn point. I would consider myself a DS tryhard so I was able to pull those inputs off but it took a couple of tries and I can definitely see someone uninstalling the game over stuff like that. During my days in DS3 I met a couple of actually funny hackers who would cosplay as "bosses" with modded movesets and spells and would fight you, but actually give you a chance to beat them. I don't see why you would nuke people to drop their framerate to 0 and eventually crash their PCs, send them into death loops or getting them softbanned (I know of a couple cases of this happening in DS3... perhaps all during those weeks mentioned, where this forcing items into someones inventory became popular...). Btw. back then I heard rumors of Malcolm sharing the force item script on his Discord server to all the wannabe hacker kids who wanted to softban people for fun. Whenever people from my community reported stuff like that, I advised everyone to use their alt accounts for a while... I have at least ten of Malcolm's accounts on my block list on Steam. In my opinion this is absolute shit tier behaviour and should not be promoted or "reasoned with". I don't understand why someone would feed his ego except using his name for views...
If he became aware of the remote code execution that was present in all souls game before it was patched, do you think he'd abuse it to brick people's computers?

So in that sense he's still just as bad as any other hacker, doesn’t matter how flashy you die. And one more thing. At 1:09 was that a permanent softlock? If so thats even worse, but you've only mentioned temporary setbacks so i have to question what's happening in full context.
Giving him this much attention is exactly why he started. This video will no doubt inspire more hackers to ruin games for people. Well done. Well done.
@@ImaTroper this video is a part of the clout he wanted. Eh, dude will be back. Hopefully next time he doesn't stir up the crazies the way he did in Elden Ring. He did more damage than hes admitted to just didnt stream it.
My characters were Hacked 2 times in Ds2. I was doing some PVP in the Brotherhood of Blood arena and eventually was matched with the said hacker. As soon as the duel started, he teleported my character to his and locked me in an endless backstab animation. Eventually I Alt + F4 the game and when I logged in again I saw the message that accused me of hacking and my character was locked out from co-op and PVP forever. Turns out, he maxed my level over the maximum value allowed by the game, tricking it to believe that I was the one hacking. Now, my account wasn't banned, thankfully, but loosing a character with which I've been playing after many hours really got to me. No matter how you put it. You have no business in ruining some other player gameplay and no matter what you say your excuses or reasons are, if you find pleasure in spoiling other people fun, you shouldn't be allowed to play games.
what an actual loser. people like this dont deserve recognition they deserve harsh punishment, it doesnt matter if theyre doing it "for the lolz" or anything theyre all cheating scum who dont know how to properly play games. and before u say it yes the ones who join streams to make "miniboss" fights are actually fun and cool, unlike the usual no life dorks some people run into
Nah. People are quick to blame others, but never look at the situation objectively, ultimately it's the fault of the developer. Putting a game out in a state that allows for that is like selling a car with no safety belts and airbags, and then blaming deaths on anyone but the manufacturer. Form's coding is sloppy subpar shit, has been for well over a decade, but the fans will defend them and the games to no end and pretend it's not. If an online/semi online game allows for another player to come and destroy your entire save, it's the dev has failed miserably
Not gonna lie... People like this give off really big narcissist vibes. Like you said, trolling for a show or just the spectical of it all is one thing. Invading someone and forcing them to stop playing even if only for a few minutes to reset their game is kinda shitty. Trying to make yourself sound like the super villain of a community by spreading rumors you can ban people is extreme levels of narcissistic behavior tho. Your actively trying to create a negative image of yourself and promote fear of loss in a gaming community for kicks? Sorry but I i genuinely don't understand that. To me atleast its like those RUclipsrs who run up to people in public places, yell in their ear and run off saying "its just a prank bro chill, why so serious?" Like I don't see the appeal of it as both the "prankster" or the audience its intended for. I remember seeing a video on fallout 76 where a hacker stole this little kids legendary gear and the kid broke down crying since it took him and his dad hours to get together. How does this stuff not make you feel like a POS? Not to mention as stated before by others your kinda feeding these people the attention they're addicted to by making a video on one of them. Rather best to let them die a slow quite death by boredom in obscurity then feed the next generation of trolls wouldn't you say?
I don't think defending Malcolm or praising him is a good thing. He went out of his way to ruin the *paid* experience of thousands of people, as well as corrupt/break their games to a point where it became unplayable. If he wanted to "send a message" to Fromsoft he could've done it in literally any other way than just fucking with countless people as well as on streams and in videos. The worst and most hypocritical part is he uploads on his channel complaining about hackers ruining his game and killing him, yet i'm pretty sure he was one of the people who invaded other people's worlds and killed them with a hack, and set it to where they'd spawn at the very bottom of the world at all times, making their game pretty much unplayable. I also have screenies of him being an absolute creep towards my ex
If he really thinks that he's sending a message, then it's not working because From's anticheat still sucks actual balls and has not gotten better. He's been doing this for ages and it's changed nothing. And I'm sorry, but does he really think he's important enough to get from to listen to him?? He's a sub-30k RUclipsr that doesn't even speak their native fucking language, and he's an incredibly controversial-at-best, downright-hated-at-worst figure in the community to those who do know who he is. So even if he was trying to send a message, it never would have been listened to. If he REALLY wanted to send a message, he'd have done so in a way that didn't harm the experience of other people. That excuse was obviously just him trying to seem like a better person than he really is.

His softbanning spree is why I don't like him. Going in and being a silly hacker is one thing, legit screwing over people's hard work because you just have beef with streamers is another thing. Yes, it's fun to tease streamers because they're bottom of the barrel; they don't deserve to have a save destroyed though. You're not doing anyone favors, you're just making excuses to cause grief. He did say it was only possible for one or two weeks. Which if he's being honest and I don't see any real reason for him to straight up lie about it, while admittedly shitty and not fun for people it happened to it seems like the actual number of people it legit happened to is greatly exaggerated.
@@drunkenprayer8390 The fact that he did it is the problem. You know how hard it was to find fightclubs or invasions after that nonsense?

If he REALLY wanted to send a message, he'd have done so in a way that didn't harm the experience of other people. That excuse was obviously just him trying to seem like a better person than he really is.
I was going to go fight malenia with my friend before getting to the correct place some hacker named guys invaded me and was invincible but kept making my character do animations from certain boss throw attacks to get me to malenia I respect him for that lmao it did no damage
got hacked once by someone in DS1 who destroyed my PC and forced me to buy a new one.
but I love the create your own spell tutorial.
How is that even possible?
@@lordvader5684 The game essentially connects your computers directly, with information being written onto either pc, allowing one knowledgeable enough to mess with some code to brick your pc.
@@BoneWalker I didn't think an exploiter directly breaking your hardware behind a screen even possible, which makes that guy even worse than he already is
@@lordvader5684yeah there was a problem in DS1 and in DS3 if I remember correctly. I don’t know how they did it but your pc would be bricked. I even heard that consoles could get bricked.
@@achmahnsch Sounds like some government level tech
Oh yeah. I remember that guy. The definition of human trash.
Got me banned and corrupted my save file. Was the last day I ever played ds3
Edit: also shame on you for condoning and supporting his actions.
I was playing with my friends ds 2 once, I see Malcom Reynolds has invaded pop up, I start shouting "NOOOOOOOOOOO" my friends had no idea what was happening until we all got petrified and died, it was glorious
I've read through some of your responses to critical comments. You call this a "unbiased documentary"
But it really isn't, if it were to be unbiased you should have gotten some people affected by him to speak as well. At this point you're just letting him ramble on and build up a defence for himself without opposition.
I like your other stuff though 👍
His softbanning spree is why I don't like him.
Going in and being a silly hacker is one thing, legit screwing over people's hard work because you just have beef with streamers is another thing. Yes, it's fun to tease streamers because they're bottom of the barrel; they don't deserve to have a save destroyed though. You're not doing anyone favors, you're just making excuses to cause grief. I would at least hope the guy had enough balls to admit that was his goal, but of course he talks like some spineless nobody.
He did say it was only possible for one or two weeks. Which if he's being honest and I don't see any real reason for him to straight up lie about it, while admittedly shitty and not fun for people it happened to it seems like the actual number of people it legit happened to is greatly exaggerated.
@@drunkenprayer8390
The fact that he did it is the problem.
You know how hard it was to find fightclubs or invasions after that nonsense? Everyone who enjoyed the pvp scene basically jumped ship after that series of softbanning invasions because people didn't want to deal with worrying whether or not they backed up their save that day. It was more prolific than what he says because others started to copycat him.
He is literally the start of the "Just alt+f4" mindset that people who get invaded have nowadays.
He is no hero and nearly killed souls pvp.
@@drunkenprayer8390 In DS3 it was only possible for a couple of weeks. He was eggheading/cursing/weapon and armour breaking people barely five minutes into their first run of DS Remake. And he was streaming that crap for hours and hours.
@@drunkenprayer8390 No one will pick up dropped items on FS games and that is mostly thanks to him and others like him. It's pathetic what people do for attention.
@@drunkenprayer8390 "Which if he's being honest and I don't see any real reason for him to straight up lie about it"
Except for the fact that he's been lying about everything the whole time. That's a good enough reason to be very dubious about his so called honesty.
So is this a video praising this guy or condemning him? Because he definitely should be condemned for the shit he's doing
Sigh... Sure, it is funny. But I hate griefing. And Malcolm punishing AFK farmers is hardly compensation. It's like being happy a serial killer killed a political extremist, like, there's still a serial killer around. Overall, I have no respect for this guy and think whatever joy he can bring some people is outweighted by the bad taste he leaves of plenty of people's mouth.
Yea him saying he didn't actually do anything really does NOT convince me he is scum anyways bc hacks why tf would I believe him
So the man goes into games with the express purpose of messing up people's day and saves, and people are cheering for him? Y'all are weird.
The only legit way to hack is to create a cool boss and act as one, like people did in ds2 and ds3. That shit was legit great.
He is the reason i didn't bother to play any souls game online on pc, getting invaded once is cool, getting invaded twice is annoying, but by the third time I just could not be bothered.
Yeah i'll admit it was funny the first time, but it gets old fucking fast. And while it's true that this is mainly fromsoft's fault, being a cunt to the community doesn't make you cool.
Also he was the reason why dark souls 3 invasions almost disappeared since it got to the point were most people would alt f4 the moment the saw an invasion message.
This is Ai? oof
Edit: As much as respect a good joke, I can’t get behind him cheating so flagrantly. Even though the softbanning was basically a myth and he was only out to do a bunch of trolling, I just can’t applaud him for exploiting the flimsy anti-cheat software. Still, it is all just a game in the end. And as a message to Waifu, I have only this much to say. I admit when I’m wrong, and my bad. GG WP very fun fight
Did you finish watching? That was not the real reason he did it lol
@@OnlyWaifuYTFair enough. Poor choice of words, my bad. I can definitely get behind him screwing with AFK farmers and trolling tons of overreactionaries, like me in this instance. Tell you what, seeing as I did finish this, I’ll alter the original comment to give my full opinion rather than the one formed at the time of writing it 😅
why didn’t they fix their flimsy software if it’s so vulnerable lmao
@@originzz Because they either don't have the ability to get even a somewhat decent anti-cheat system in or they cannot be bothered to pay for it.
@@OnlyWaifuYTa hacker nonetheless, nothing to applaud there...
Why i eare Giorno theme
There are only two types of hackers I have ever experienced- fun hackers and toxic hackers. I'm sorry, his actions are too malicious in nature and his reasoning in an excuse reeking of bullshit.
I dunno, I only play off-line.
Ver a dalas en un video en ingles es muy inesperado xd
Ah yes. I remember being stuck in an infinite loop of DS3 cutscenes until he got bored and decided to permanently damage my GPU. I hope someone hacks his wife’s holes while he watches from the closet in a Superman suit.
if he'd only used any account-affecting/file-corrupting stuff on *other* hackers, he might have been better regarded by a lot of players...but apparently *almost* none of that actually happened anyway, if I understood correctly. And mocking Kotaku and Baneposting are certainly OK in my book!
Imagine actually being this pathetic he makes twinks Gankers and afk farme look like saints
just saying threes a reason cheats in online games are a bankable offence. its just being chaotic and disruptive for ones self enjoyment. If you cheat and do "good" with it than i guess whatever but its still cheating and looked down upon. Cheating in games like pokemon roms or whatever is almost a must I'm not grinding 30 hours on a game that's 20 years old but to essentially grief in an online game just to be an annoyance your parents raised you wrong
He’s basically that one cartoon character that likes bugging people by randomly dropping anvils over their heads
Except it's not, nor is it funny.
@@MichaelTheRead Oh cmon you gotta admit some of the things he does are rather clever. He even said himself that the whole, "softbanning" people thing only happened once and although it's hard to trust the word of a serial cheater its worth to mention that he mainly only targeted streamers. I never ran into the guy and even if i did i would know how to avoid it via throwing myself off a ledge or alt f4ing. To me he's the type of person who would throw laxatives into the punch bowl at a party
@@HunterBloodHunterBloodnah, he mixes laxatives in one, cyanide in the other and forces you to drink one.
Dudes swiper from Dora
@@HunterBloodHunterBlood i hope someday he will ruin your playthrough in the next souls game )
Malcolm debería invadir en el seamless 😂😂😂
Malcolm is in his 30s for real
ok i am all for a little trolling, but once you go after a player's ability to play i draw the line
All I gotta say is imagine cheating lmao, that is the most loser thing you can possibly do and to just go get a job maybe put my fries in the bag too
I love Easy Anti-cheat making my game running slower, crashing it and still time to time seeing people reporting about cheaters in the game.
OnlyWaifu, im just here to say, even tho this video is kinda old now, 15:10 you really did it , you used the ffx blitz ball theme there... Bro you just triggered some old memory in me jesus.
im safe on PS5 right?
Anything for clout, likes, followers..,etc. Dont mess with a game truly love and actually play. Jerks are the reason why I stopped watching youtube and tiktok, nothing but bullying garbage. I swear ruining the game for others is low and disgusting. But anything for views right?
This guy can’t even win with the current strength gugs build so he’s gotta cheat 😅
19:00 time stamp for you so people can stop yapping in the comments. Dudes just tryna have fun, and knows how to get snowflakes upset on Reddit.
Malcolm Reynaldo’s desperately trying to generate attention (likely cause of a lack of a fatherly one) and trying establish control over his public perception is downright childish.
He’s very good, that’s obvious, but this was brought upon himself, and he shouldn’t be too surprised. Atleast, he got what he wanted yeah? Death threats and negative attention is sorta what to expect when it comes to angering sweaty fromsoft players who do care about the 100$ they paid for the game experience. And the worst part is the trolling is the lowest medium his talent could be a used for.
he totally can do this on ER. it just happened to me and a buddy like 2 weeks ago and i had no idea all of this was a thing. it wasnt him it was someone else but they must be getting by doing it somehow
Man, it’s crazy how some sick people like this exist that do this out of attention. You don’t think “hey I’m ruining the game for others” and instead smile as you reassure yourself what you’re doing is right. These people remind me of the no lifes that simp everyday Reddit mod stereotype 😂
The greatest thing he's done was grief Hasan when he was playing Dark Souls 3 and rekt'd his shit while Hasan was just mindless.
And with all the evidence him and other hackers still run rampant to this day. Real nice
Hacking is okay as long as you do it offline or BRING GENUINE JOY TO OTHERS. Other than that you're just a douchebag, a disappointment of your parents, a failure of existence,...
Yeah sure it'll be fun and all to you until somebody decides to make it personal irl. And if that is to happen, it won't end well.
