Proline really knocked it out the park with this color. There are a few tips and tricks to getting this paint to look right though so make sure to watch the entire video. Hope you Enjoy!

Thank you! 👍
Awesome!
Thanks!
Love that color bro!
Thank You!!!
Daaamn thats nasty dude, excellent work🤙
Thank You!!!
I figured out what I'm going to use to build one of these with. I have a older custom works enforcer sprint car. The nice thing about it is I can run it mid motor or rear.
That would be cool. I don't have any experience with those things but it would be cool to see the difference in setup to get it to go straight
Man I got to try this I love it looks great
Thank you!!
Great job on the paint bro. 👍👍
Thank you!
💯🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥
👍😁
I have to say very very nice job on candy Nova not too big of a Chevy guy More of a Ford man but super job couldn't of did it much better looks great even on the test pass. Keep up the good work
Thank you!!! 👍
Absolutely slick !
i guess im asking randomly but does someone know a method to log back into an instagram account?
I somehow lost my password. I love any help you can give me.
@Sam Dayton instablaster :)
@Arlo Desmond Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now.
Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Arlo Desmond it worked and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my account !
@Sam Dayton You are welcome :)
Try using a clear sealer first and THEN introduce you’re candy. The plastic is TOO smooth for direct paint contact on your first few coats and it will cause the fresh coat of paint to reconnect micro paint droplets into larger drops of paint. By applying a coat of CLEAR SEALER your going to provide the right type of surface for paint to land on and the micro droplets won’t be able to shift and reconnect bcs the clear sealer provides great adhesion for the candy paint to land on and penetrate into the clear sealer right away so it will never have a chance to blotch. ALSO….. use the same sealer “over your candy” after your last coat of candy dries. This will PREVENT your silver or black from penetrating into your candy and make it blotchy in a different kind of way, it will muddy up the candy effect. By using a sealer in between your candy and the color your spraying to cover the candy, your creating a safety net so that the following color don’t mess up your candy application. Createx makes a sealer for candy and they make a clear primer too i think but I forgot the company that makes the clear primer sealer but you’ll find it.
I've never actually heard of anything like that for RC bodies. I'm interested though, just need to look into some clear sealer. Thanks for the tip!!
Bonjour, when you explain that you need clear sealer for the Candy paint, should you mix it with the candy color or apply a 1ST coat with only the clear sealer? Thank you from France
Hi my name is Darren I seen your video I like it it looks badass so so once again that looks so cool looking I like that shade of candy color red and it looks awesome so alrighty Alexis Barron signing out happy arsene I'll look forward to your next videos
I like to take a new x acto blade and very lightly trace the outline of the masking to make sure the paint don't stick. Hope that helps.
That would definitely work, but I've never had to do that with any other paint before. I'm figuring its something with the candy or the amount of coats I used.
I happy that you tested my idea
What idea are you referring to? How to spray the candy? Or just the body in general?
The testing for the bodies and if the effect speed or time
@@sosa2514 Oh. Hahahahaha, I'm just using that as an excuse to buy more bodies!
@@FullThrottleRC oof lol
YOU going make me try this i love a nova and besides i'm building a real life like to a pro street
hahaha Thanks!
It turned out awesome. I have found that candies and the pearlized paints are like this. The Nova I just painted for myself started off blotchy and runny. However I got it handled and it turned out great. You can check it out on my Instagram or FB page under Blue Gator RC Bodies. I love the Yenko stripe on yours. I’m a big fan of Don Yenko. Love your channel brother, keep it up. You’ve taught this old man a bunch.
Thank You for the kind words!!
were did you get the senko stickers? love the body.
The Yenko Stripes are painted. I used a set of masks I made to paint it.
I dig that candy color 👍 I'm trying to get into painting more myself. I have a Kustom Kolor all in one airbrush kit. Can you recommend any pointers? Thanks in advance.
I'm not familiar with that airbrush kit but basics of airbrushing is practicing paint control for thin and thick lines. Depending what you want to do with rc bodies, you may not need that, you may just want to spray in. But if you want to do more detailed stuff, practice dagger strokes and just getting comfortable with the airbrush. Good luck!
@@FullThrottleRC thanks! I'll give it a shot 👍
Candy really just seems like metallic. But it seems like when you have legit metallic those flakes really pull and drip if you do anything more than a light mist. I like the color, but I think I want to see how the candy red does with a black backer. Those super dark blood red cars I see at car shows look sick. $8-10k paint jobs though!
It would definitely look awesome with a black backer as well! I wanted something a little in between on this car but I may have to try some black on a body to see how it looks.
🍭🍬
That body with hte yenko sticker looks awesome bro. Imo the color not so much.
Do you think this body could fit on a touring car chassis? What width - 200mm? I've seen these bodies on dragster builds only...
It's actually not stickers, the stripes are all paint. I don't think it would fit on a touring car, most of these bodies are made to fit a short course wheelbase and 2wd buggy width.
Where do you get the yenko stencils
I made them myself with a vinyl cutter. They could be cut by hand as well
Man the car came out great I hope you tried the silicone shock oil 2530 pounds should help you out a little bit better. I wanted to get a little help a little information from you I got that same motor that you picked up the Trinity 3.5 -T hole shot By any chance What would you recommend for a spur gear and a pinion gear size hope everything is going well keep up great work The RUclips channel is great Thank you again.
I haven't changed gearing in a while. If I remember correctly I'm running a 22t pinion and 70 or 72t spur.
@@FullThrottleRC Thank you very much there helps a lot now I just need to find the banana connectors for the ESC
What are the rims in the rear?? Are they 2.2/3.0?? By the way love that color.
In this video I was still running the 2.2 proline Titus wheels. I'm running a 2.2/3.0 wheel now.
1970 chevelle ss purple n black with hot pink accents
Does the yenco strip come with the body or do you have to buy it custom separate?
I painted it custom. Made my own stencil and sprayed it in.
@@FullThrottleRCoh, came out great job!
Where do you get your rear bead lock wheels?
I think I ordered them from AMain. Proline Titus 2.2 beadlocks
How did you paint the line on the sides?
I used a custom mask to paint the stripes.
Do you did candy then metallic silver the dark grey
Yep! That way I could get a deeper red like this.
How do you cut the holes to mount onto the body?
I normally just use a drill bit, but there are actually a bunch of tools made for that such as a body reamer.
@@FullThrottleRC ok Thanks Bro
Where did you get the yenko masks?
I made them myself
@@FullThrottleRC nice!
Would it look the same if I just bought Durtraxs Candy red?
I've never used their paints so I can't really say.
when u gonna text it ? can’t wait to see it starting a build myself with the same motor
Went out and did some more testing yesterday. Video should be out later this week
What did you use to make the Yenko mask?
Vinyl and a decal cutter
@@FullThrottleRC How much would you want to make a set for me?
@@keithfagan5424 I'm not able to make them at this time. Sorry
@@FullThrottleRC Thanks for responding, wish I had one of those vinyl plotters, have to do everything by hand, one thing that's giving me the problem is, can't find what font is used in the Yenko letters.
@@keithfagan5424 I just went look through my fonts and I'm pretty sure the font I used was Novello Pro. I spaced out the letters a little and bolded the font to get the look I wanted. Hope that helps!!
Dose proline make this in a spray can
I don't believe so
where can i buy this clear shell
I order most of my parts and bodies from Amainhobbies.com
I’m thinking about making the jump to spraying with a gun rather than rattle can. Mostly because I can mix colors.
Do you think a small spray gun would be better at covering the large areas of a body?
A small spray gun would work. I find most people use an airbrush cause its easier to get into the corners of the body and you have more control for detailed stuff.
bonjour, excuse me but I am French and I did not understand the exact color of the 2nd layer (grey? silver?) please give me the proline references of the 3 colors, hello from France
Hi, I believe the colors I used were Candy Blood Red(PRO632900), Metallic Charcoal(PRO632601), and Pearl Black(PRO632704)
@@FullThrottleRC thank you, I have one last question, how many coats for each color? and the thinning rate for airbrush, many thanks
@@ludovicdubois6449 I used about 2-3 coats for each color. As for thinning, it depends on your airbrush and how you are comfortable spraying.
@@FullThrottleRC merci ☺️
last questions, PSI? and nozzle size? thank you
You said you had to reduce yet Pro-Line says "Can be sprayed without reducing with .5mm needle at 30psi" I'm glad I picked up a few extra bottles of reducer.. I knew that was too good to be true lol
Most of their paint can be sprayed without reducing. The Candy is a little thicker though. I also have one airbrush with a .5mm needle and one with a .25mm needle and can't remember which is which 😂😂
@@FullThrottleRC lol trust me I know how that goes, I been airbrushing my bodies for almost 2 years now, started out with cheap Harbor Freight, Master, and Point Zero airbrushes and finally got an Iwata Neo TRN2 Pistol grip,Iwata Neo Bcn Syphon Feed, and a regular Iwata Neo. I feel I've come a long way, but I'm still afraid of spraying candies lol
They have changed the directions lol now they are saying spray at 30 to 35 psi with a .35mm. I'm glad I haven't had time to paint the Rubicon body for my Summit, because the body has been discontinued and I'd hate to screw it up,I'd be pissed. What I plan on doing is just doing like you did and messing with some scrap lexan. Fortunately my Iwata Neo has a .35mm. All my other airbrushes are 0.5 mm.
