I'd give real money to have had you walk that finished product outside in the sun for us. I can absolutely see that the camera did not do that justice. probably would've in the sun, maybe. man that's a beautiful job!
Yes. I first use a fine scotch brite to lighrly scuff (not on windows) then clean with dawn dish soap. (Let air dry) then mask. Spaz-stix makes a good body prep as well.
Awesome video! It was very informative. I’m getting ready to paint my first body for my TRX4. I wish you had set your mustang body on the chassis at the end though! You left us hanging. Lol
Top job but should of used fine sandpaper on the wheel arch's to get rid of the roughness and smooth them out , same with post holes use you straight scissors to cut the excess and a very slight rub with fine 240 grit but yes top job looks good.
Quick question. What is the application for the body? Drive around the area or race application? Race application tends to destroy and crack the body after a few races.
I just got a clear body for my rc truck. Didn't even occur to me to paint the inside of the body, lol. Thank you for the video. What exact brand(s) of the metallic backer and paint did you use. You might have said it but I missed it. Thanks again!
Before Pealing the outer Skin, I take a Dremel Tool and Clean up the Wheel Well Area Nice and Smooth and the Body Mounts I score the Hole Area and use another Dremel Grinder for the Holes as a slow- Medium Speed!
pro tip from a restoration tv show.. when painting.. make some type stand and hang your item from it and let it dangle in the air. they say it helps the paint not run. painting in the air is what they say to do
Hello, here’s my question I peeled off the protective cover on the back of my car once the holes are reamed wet stop the paint from getting on the outside? because you have the car on the roof. Thanks please help me out.
Thanks for sharing this technique, I am painting a smaller scale, clear 1/24 slot cars; so you gave me some great tips, my question is for clear bodies like these, what are the recommended paint brand ? Also, the smaller clear bodies don't come with cutouts for the Windows etc. What would you recommend, like blue masking paint tape ? Last, can you list what scissor you were using? Thanks Mike
Hey how are you doing I'm James I have a monte carlo 1979 lowrider rc do you do paint jobs on this I have the body and I'm willing to pay for this paint job
