looks epic!!
Thanks Kev! This is amazing. I’ve been watching your channel for many years and it is an honor to have you watch one of my videos. Cheers!
@@XXLRC Thanks bro appreciate it!! I'll have to try that paint trick, maybe on my custom sledge build :)
Heck yes! Can’t wait to see it. I was just thinking about running my Sledge.
Kev, the Legend! Nice to see you leave some love to the little guys out there grinding.
Ive done rc since 1977. Everything from cars, boats, planes, helicopters, u name it, ive done. Recently got back into flying, 3 months before covid. Ive raced professionally with kinwald, the Losi group, etc.
1st time in my life ive ever seen this!
I subbed & will be using YOUR method on my next body!
Awesome! Glad you liked it. I do mostly cars and trucks - bashers and crawlers. I do have a boat, but haven’t driven it yet and the only ones I fly are drones. Have not had a chance to try a helicopter or plane.
I randomly came across this video because im looking into getting into RC, and this paint job blew me away. Looks freaking awesome. Would be a killer paint job on a full size truck. VERY nice work.
Thanks! I appreciate that!
Loox like it just stepped out of the 80s, love it
Thanks! I love how it turned out as well.
Nice!!!
I tried that same method once on canvas and it came out GREAT!
It’s a great method. Really easy and the results are great!
That’s so awesome!! Gonna try this trick for sure! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Love the technique going to try it on my drag slot car lexan bodies. Awesome job. Thanks for sharing
Thanks!
Very interesting approach to get a unique design. Thx for sharing. 👍
Thank you for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. 👍
I never would have thought of using dish soap to paint a body I'm going to try that.thank for the video.
SWEET JOB MAN!! Looks awesome and a HUGE thanks for sharing the how to part.. DEFINITELY using this technique on my speed run Ferrari body for my 2wd Slash
Thanks man! I’m loving how it turned out. Glad you enjoyed the how-to. I’d like to see that Ferrari body when it’s done.
Love the colors
Thanks!
I've seen the dish soap method for art but have never thought about it for an RC body, your result is amazing!
My wife makes custom tumblers and resin art. I’ve seen the dish soap used a lot on that side of crafting. I’m really happy with how it turned out on the RC body. Such a unique design.
Wow! Doing this for my Tamiya Hornet Evo. 👍👍
Awesome! It’s going to look amazing!
I like that - Gots that 80s vibe !!
Thanks, man. Glad you like it!
That looks crazy!!
I love how the colours blend into each other. Using the soap to make a random pattern really makes the blends stand out.
Thats me subbed. 👍
Thanks! Glad you like it. I’m really happy with how it turned out. Thanks for the sub!
Love the look !
But never been a fan of blacked out windows.
Also if you are from the UK you will have a good laugh at the name of the paint 😂
Thanks. Had to have my UK co-worker fill me in. I guess I need to be more careful when selecting paint brands. 😅
So 1980’s painting style very hard rock luv it.🤘
Thanks!
Man I cannot lie. That looks so sick.
Thank you! I’m really happy with how it turned out.
Wow thats cool.
Thanks!
Excellent video. I'm looking forward to doin my first one soon. I hate painting, but this looks so simple! Great results!
Heck yeah! Go for it! Really easy and the result will be an awesome unique paint job.
That turned out great. Gave me a idea on what I want on the body after this one I’m making now 😂
Thanks! It’s an easy method and the results are nice! I say go for it!
Same. This looks mint
Thanks!@@Sp3ktral22
Wow, that’s pretty cool.
What a great idea! Can’t wait to try that. Think I’ll give that a go on my hornet to jazz it up a bit.
I love the way it turned out. I’m sure it will look great on your hornet.
Thank you so much that was driving me crazy cause I thought you paint the outside of the car God Bless U
No problem. Happy to help!
Following these steps tonight.. so far so good painting my losi nascar
Awesome! How’d it turn out?
@XXLRC eh.. it's ok the dish soap got runny. I didn't want to just cake the first coat on i sprayed light coats and by the third the soap started running.. it looks cool though I'll try again maybe thicker soap?
I saw the picture you posted on my Facebook page. I think it looks awesome. I actually like the lighter ends of the colors. Good job! 👍
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
Thanks!
One of the best paint jobs I've seen .bro awesome work
Thank you! I’m real happy with how it turned out too!
I just got a clear body for my xmaxx I wanna try it out
It's gonna look awesome! I did an X-MAXX body with a different dish soap technique (powerwash).
wow, it look really beautyfull
Thank you! Cheers!
This paint job is sick!!😮😮👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks! I’m happy with how it turned out.
@@XXLRC I had never seen this technique before! It’s pretty cool!
Thanks for the inspiration Such a beautiful painting Job 🎉❤😮 OMG!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it and got some inspiration from it. 👍
Been doing this since the 70s for skateboards 1st. Then fishing lures

Thank you. I’m really happy with it.

Nice other way of painting, tanks for the tip
Thanks! Glad you like it.
Thank you for this !!!! I can’t find anyone to paint my bodies for me as I’m hopeless with art and design but I think I’ll be able to do this !!! Thank u❤
You’re welcome! You got this!
Hi Jeff... I watch all of Sandy's videos, order glitter when I can and thought I'd look at one of yours. This truck turned out AMAZING! You've got a new subscriber! Great job!!!
Hey Fawn. I know I’ve seen your name before. Thanks for checking out my channel and thanks for the sub.
Awesome job, might be a good project to do with my kid
Thanks! Hope to see it on your channel.
That is so cool. I have lots of partial cans of different colors, I have to try this. Thanks for the vid.
Awesome! Glad it inspired you. Those little cans of paint are expensive, might as well use them up. Hope to see a video of your paint job on your channel!
Looks freaking awesome 👌 👏 👍
Thanks!
Absolutely great job and technic thanks for the tips.
Thanks for watching!
That was a really great idea and a very awesome turn out on the body, great job!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Awesome technique! I haven't painted any bodies yet, but this gives me a huge confidence boost in maybe going a little wild with my first one.
Hey thanks! I say go for it. This is a really easy technique. Just make sure you do the prep work (cleaning, masking, etc) and it will turn out great!
That looks so good. Gonna have to try this! Thanks for the video!
Thanks! It’s an easy process. I say go for it! Thanks for watching!
Cool paint job
Thank you!
Love it. Good job 👍
Thanks!
That was beautiful!
Thanks! 👍
Thanks for sharing your technique. Ill definitely try it!❤
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for watching!
That looks amazing. I am now strongly considering this technique for my next buggy body. But perhaps just two-tone. Thanks very much!
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed the video and it gave you inspiration. What colors are you going to do?
I’m thinkin Tamiya metallic blue and white in the soap tracks.
That’ll look awesome! I like that metallic blue. I used it on my MAXX with fluorescent orange.
Just came across this video and wow man good job. Looks amazing. I didn't know this was possible. I am now gonna try this. Also great tunes to go along with the progress. Subscribed!!
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it.
Dude tjats SO cool!! Im doing that next😅
Thanks! It’s probably my favorite paint job.
SUPER COOL THANKS 🤙🤙🤙
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Looks great, I've done something like that with Ketchup.
For real? I would’ve never thought to use ketchup.
A truly creative approach, and you make it look so simple. :-) I just spent the whole day painting a two-tone Traxxas UDR body, makes me wonder why all the fuss when it can be so simple and EPIC like yours! 🙂
Thanks! Glad you like it. I'm kinda stuck in a similar situation. I've got a K10 body for my SCX6 and I wanted to do a classic paint scheme on it, maybe two-tone or stripes, but after seeing the results on this one, I'm tempted to do a similar one for it as well.
@@XXLRC It feels typical to the 90's, this kind of scheme. I guess we're growing old. Seems like it was yesterday! I'm sure that no matter what you choose, it is going to be really nice no matter what. Keep it real, man, I'm loving your content!
Thanks, man. I appreciate that.
Very nice ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome tips bro! I'm going to try this and give you a massive shoutout! Thanks for the great video sir.
Heck yeah! Thanks man. Appreciate it.
Awesome. Do a part 2
What would you like to see in part 2?
@XXLRC that's a good question. I'm not sure. Maybe instead of black, you can do the front like a dark blue and the back black and then do either cool colors or warm colors for the background
That came out great looking. Have a ram body. I want to try this out for my OG blackfoot. Thanks
Thanks! I’ll bet yours will turn out amazing!
Man this is awesome you definitely earned my sub buddy , as soon as the warmer weather comes around I’m giving this a go .
Fantastic video ❤
Stay awesome
Chris 🤙🤙🤙🤙
Thanks, man. I appreciate that. Can’t wait to see what you create!
Great tip! Paint job came out amazing!
Thanks! I want to do another one now. It’s addicting.
@@XXLRC I am going to give it a shot. subbed your channel! great stuff!
Awesome, man. Thanks!
You killed it brother
Thank you!
the paint came out amazing, I'd like to try some patterns or images,
Thanks! I was thinking about trying some images as well. My wife uses this stuff called water slide paper and I think it could work for putting images on the inside of a clear body before paint.
WOW
Very cool
Thanks!
Looks good!
Thanks!
Awesome! Thanks for showing us how to do it.
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed it.
Awesome job
Thanks!
Looks great!! 🔥 ❤
Thanks!
Just came across your channel. Awesome finish. A process I will be trying out.
Subscribed👍
Awesome! Thank you! It’s gonna turn out great!
Dig the body. Paint looks awesome man. Nice job!!!
Thanks! I’m stoked with how it turned out. I want to do another one now! Maybe this will inspire me to finish the project truck the body is going on?
Project truck?! Sounds like a new video!
MAGNIFIQUE 😍😍😍
Thank You!
Very rad!!!!
Thanks! Another very unique and easy paint job.
Got a revo missing the body perfect excuse to try this once I get it Friday

look´s great :) very nice
Thank you! Cheers!
Absolutely beautiful 👍 Question: how long did you wait before you rinsed the soap off? Was the paint still “tacky”?
Rinse the soap immediately after spraying the black. I know it sounds weird to spray fresh paint with water, but it will not wash it off.
@@XXLRC 👍 thanks much!
You’re welcome. I recently did another video showing this technique. Check it out on my channel.
Amazing
Thanks!
Super cool idea! One of the worst thing about RC for me, is painting and cutting out bodys haha
Not my favorite thing either. I’ve found that if you take your time with all the prep work, it will turn out a lot better and unique designs like this make it a lot more fun to do.
That's amazing! I must try it one day! One thought: these neon colors might be metallic. Will it be even cooler? =)
You could definitely try it. I think the best way to get metallic would be to use a clear metallic before spraying the neon colors.
@@XXLRC Right. I absolutely must try this =)
Go for it! Can't wait to see the result!
awesome
Thanks!
awesome work! :)
Thank you! Cheers!
Dope bro
Thanks!
👍😎👍 Very cool dude.
Thanks!
Outstanding. Did you let the black dry before rinsing off the soap?
Thanks! Nope. I rinsed it right after I got done spraying the paint.
That is sick! I'm going to do my J Concepts Kraton body like that. That's for the tips! Liked & Subscribed.
Thanks for the sub! That Kraton body is going to turn out amazing!
@@XXLRC It did, it looks sick AF. Thanks again for the video!
Awesome!
Thats awesome,....did you let the original black base over the dish soap dry first before washing the soap off?
Thanks! I didn’t not let it dry. Wash the soap off immediately.
Awesome video and badass paint job!!! Did you scuff the body before the initial coat of paint?
I did not scuff the inside. Just washed it with soap and water to get any of the mold release off.
Nice
Thanks!
I like that so much
I love it too. Thanks for watching!
@@XXLRC thanks for the inspiration of my next body
Awesome! Can’t wait to see how yours turns out.
Crazy ❤
Well, that just earned a subscriber. Top shelf job, bud.
How long did you let the base coat sit before rinsing the soap out? A minute or two, or right after?
Thanks so much. Glad you liked it!
I rinsed the soap off right after I got done spraying the paint.
wish I could post my car. it turned out great.
I’ll bet it looks awesome! XXL RC does have a Facebook page if you want to post it there. I’d love to see how it turned out.
@@XXLRC posted photo on fb
Dude!! It's 5am Sunday morning and I'm trying not to squeal "that's badass!!" and wake up my wife. I almost busted a blood vessel. 😂 I just got a red granite and although I love it, I'd love a different color even more. Thank you for this video, it is indeed badass!!
Heck yeah! Glad you enjoyed it and you should totally do it! Best part about this type of paint job is how unique they all turn out. Nobody will have one exactly like yours.
I'm doing it now. 😁 How long did you let the first coat of black dry before washing off the soap?
I washed it off immediately after I got done spraying the black.
I thought so. I didn't know if you'd paused the video or not so was making sure. Thank you! 🥰
I’ve had a lot of people ask the same question. I recently did another video using the same technique and I made sure to let everybody know in that video. It definitely seems weird to spray fresh paint with water. The first time I did it, I thought it would wash the paint off, but it seems that the water activates the paint and makes it cure instantly.
I believe if you put the stickers in water they will come off and put them on wet so you can move them around if you need to
I think they are regular stickers. I’ve heard of some people using water slide decals, but I don’t think these ones are.
How long do you wait before washing out the dish shop after spraying it with black? Btw. the body looks great and I will use your technic for my next body.
Don’t wait. Spray it off as soon as you get done spraying the black. Thanks for watching. Glad it helped.
Man that’s awesome! Hope you don’t mind but I’m gonna be a copycat and do that with my granite clear body today…that looks great
Heck yeah, man. Go for it! If you do a video of it, tag me so I can see how it turned out.
@@XXLRC sure thing;thanks for the green light
Great vid. Never thought about masking with dish soap! Did you spray the soap out before the paint dried?
I sprayed the soap out right after I got done spraying the paint.
