I really appreciate your wife’s perspective on vehicles. The Midwest mom factor shines. As for the TX, I test drove it and a Grand Highlander before the recent stop-sale recall. Regardless of trim, I just could not justify the extra cost of the TX for two reasons. 1) The TX is only slightly quieter than the GH. The engine noise is pronounced in both as is road noise. 2) The front end of the TX is just awful. The GH is better looking, more aggressive. Subjective, I know, but at these price points, it matters. For the difference in cost you could get the hybrid max GH and still spend less over the TX.

Did your wife think it was “Lexus enough?” The TX is kinda of getting slammed in the auto media. It’s probably the nicest feedback I’ve seen for it. But your wife isn’t a journalist, so 😂😂😂
@@ALMX5DP The 2.4L Turbo Hybrid, currently 23.5 average with mixed driving city/hwy, best average was 25mpg, any idle time and not being in eco all the time lowers the efficiency quite a bit
@@youngblood23rb ouch yeah I think that's a good bit less than what is advertised as I dont think EPA tests in any specific mode other than what the car typically starts out in (unless it always defaults to Eco, in which case maybe that's just the reality). Yeah in the summer there on the gulf I too would want to keep my AC blasting.
@@rustynail7866 Took delivery in November, drove mostly in Eco, mpg increase after a few thousand miles, we were at 25.6, once the weather started heating up switched up to Normal, AC blasting, we have two toddlers we do idle a bit while running errands, rear HVAC vents do not blow quite as good as we would like, and we arent lite on the gas pedal lol

11k miles on ours, MPG is less than advertised unless you drive in ECO all the time which limits HVAC, no go in Louisiana Heat and Humidity

That’s surprising. I have a TX350 AWD that’s averaging 23.5 without the hybrid system.
