    Bought TX350 Luxury a couple months ago. Already put 6K miles on it. I’ve owned 4 Lexus vehicles before this one (RX300, and three LS430’s). This is the quietest best riding vehicle I’ve ever owned. Exceeds all my expectations. I’m 6’4” tall and I have tons of room. Great great car!

    We just bought a TX 350 premium and love it. Shopped the Honda Pilot, MDX and Grand Highlander. Cabin is more quite then all of them and the ride is fantastic! Room in the 3rd row nothing comes close either. The interior is all soft touch material and I have no complaints. Love the big info screen~

    I test drove a premium trim model of this vehicle about a month ago, and I absolutely loved it. I was originally going to buy a Grand Highlander, but after test driving the TX and going to the Chicago Auto Show to sit in and interact with the Grand Highlander, my wife and I have decided to save up some extra money for the Lexus, but we're going to go for the TX 500h F-Sport, instead, because of the better suspension and gas mileage, and I don't need the moon roof, so we don't need the luxury trim of that one.

    I test drove the 350 Luxury and really liked it. I thought the 4 cylinder had a lot of power but I do agree it was a bit harsh sounding and loud at times for a luxury vehicle. I liked all of the technology but I could see it being very distracting with the amount of menu screens available to cycle through. Not sure if there is enough here to justify the price increase over the Grand Highlander Hybrid Max though.

    I feel that Lexus was stuck on this vehicle. I think they had to make it less luxurious because it could take away LX and GX sales. I drove this model and found wind noise above 60mph. Sounded like the windows were open but they were not. Also the engine is ok but the sound from that engine is horrible at this price point. Also I found it hard to tell the difference between base model interior and executive. This should not be the case. Also I find the seats short and you need the top package to get that. Also the top fsport version has no thigh extender. Just get the platinum max grand highlander. Still cheaper than the Tx base model and comes with the same engine offered on the tx500 fsport. It also uses regular fuel and the portobello interior colour is better than the dark options (only peppercorn and black offered on non fsport trims in Canada). Furthermore, the gh uses regular fuel and is over 20000 less than the starting price for a similarly equipped tx500 in Canada. Couple this with lower maintenance costs at Toyota( about 30 to 40 percent cheaper in Canada compared to Lexus) and it is a no brainer. The TX is truly not worthy of the Lexus badge. I have a gx460 and gs350 and I am not happy with the TX unless you are driving in a straight line and coasting without touching the gas pedal.

    Excellent video…❤… I just wish it had either a V8 or a V6 naturally aspirated engine… This vehicle would’ve been perfect for my four German shepherds, but I am not a four-cylinder guy and I sure don’t like turbo charging hopefully in the future they’ll make a naturally aspirated, V8, or V6 engine for this vehicle I will say the eight speed transmission is beautiful. I have that in my 2021 LX 570 and the speed is great in the 2023 GX 460. I know they’re having recalls on the 10 speed transmission in TOYOTA and Lexus there’s like a little less than 300,000 recalls so I’m staying away from that 10 speed automatic transmission am my opinion I just think it’s too many gears. Anyway, you guys do great videos I really appreciate it. I just wish you had a different powerplant.❤

    Why is every manufacturer ditching normally aspirated engines in favor of turbo? Is the extra torque and slightly better fuel economy really worth the risk, i.e. higher likelihood of mechanical issues? I am especially wondering why Toyota is ditching its V6 and V8 engines that are legendary for their reliability, smoothness, and refinement, in favor of noisier turbo-4's whose long-term reliability is unknown.

    • @HiiImChris
      @HiiImChris 10 месяцев назад +8

      Fuel economy and I believe another big thing are government regulations that penalize gas consumption. It should be worth nothing though, that I believe the way the turbos are being implemented on these engines is different. They have probably engineered and designed the function of turbos to be optimal given the context of which they're being used, as opposed to sport performance. If that's the case I feel like they should name the use of turbos something differently, if it's for efficiency rather than performance

      The main reason is emissions. That is the only reason. fuel economy not so much. A hybrid V6 can still get just as good fuel efficiency. And then add a plug in version even better. But I wouldn’t worry about reliability as much should be good. Not Lexus’s first turbo engine. And in other countries Toyota sells large cars/trucks with low HP engines. @@dozie6650 we own a baseTX 350 and an MDX Tech trim. I’ll copy/paste my reply from another thread: the MDX handles better and has better steering and breaking, but the cargo and seating space and the multiple storage compartments (especially for front seat passengers) in the TX make for much less stressful car rides. Other than one small slot and the wireless charger, there’s nowhere to put anything for front seat passengers (unless you count the middle storage bin, but we keep that full with hand sanitizer, alcohol wipes, etc for the kids). I also like that the TX rides smooth, feels like a big suv and feels high off the ground, whereas when I’m in the MDX I feel like I’m in a car. Also, I MUCH prefer the infotainment and backup camera in the TX. The trackpad isn’t bad in the MDX , but the TX infotainment is much more user friendly and better designed and the MDX backup camera quality is a joke compared to the TX. And the seats in the TX are far more comfortable (MDX seats are on the hard side and the leather on the stiff side). Also, I like that the TX comes standard with a cargo/privacy cover, whereas our MDX (tech trim) did not. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the mdx, it’s great value for the money and the tech trim has some amazing features that my base TX doesn’t (pano roof, ambient lighting, standard upgraded instrument cluster, front and rear parking sensors, more color options for seats), but to say the MDX is better for every consumer is untrue, and that’s coming from someone who OWNS both. At the end f the day, you can’t lose with either vehicle. They’re both amazing in different ways.

    Reading so many of these comments and I am confused about the hate for a 4 cylinder turbo and their complete ignorance regarding the average Lexus buyer and someone who wants more performance.
    Personally speaking I would never buy the 350 variant as I prefer way more pep, however the average Lexus owner does not care about 0-60 times. I leased the 2022 RX450h about 2 years ago as I wanted the V6 paired with a hybrid but after test driving the RX and TX 500h variants I'm starting to get super antsy about my current lease ending. The 500h turbo 4 set up with the hybrid motors put most V6 turbos to shame with its torque and smoothness not to mention the MPG ! I just wonder if the hate from people online is just misinformed as they've never driven one.
