The TX is nicer. However, here in Canada a hybrid max GH is 75000 out the door and the TX 500( same hybrid engine) is 30000 more out the door. That is a deal breaker for essentially the exact same vehicle. You will also be required to use premium gas which is 30 cents more a litre in Canada! The GH also comes with one extra seat. So I would pay up to 15000 more and that is a stretch. But 30000 more? Could almost buy another used car with that money. Also Lexus is beginning to raise their prices on service costs. Example, spark plug change on my lexus gs350 at Toyota cost me 400. At Lexus for the same maintenance they charge 900 but they feed you. I guess my lunch cost 500 then!
@@221987tom 68k. Went on 2 different dealers. One quoted me over 70k and base on that price I negotiated it down to 68k with different dealer. The guy who did my financial said I got best deal 😀. Keep in mind there so many packets add on, so with different price.
One thing I wish is that the Lexus either had a bigger power difference or didn't require premium gas. Its only 10 more horsepower than the Grand Highlander. That isn't much of a difference and not worth spending thousands extra over the life in the car for premium gas. Were that 30 or 40 more horsepower it'd be worth it but 275 versus 265? Not worth it.
Jeff, If the Lexus TX 350 was available as a hybrid, there would be no reason to get a Grand Highlander hybrid. Toyota knew they couldn't do that, so they decided to put the hybrid in their TX 500H FSport Performance to out price most people. It needed to be at least 15k more than a GH Hybrid max, or else the GH wouldn't sell as much. Lexus would mostly be the choice for the buyer.
I like the price of the Grand Highlander Limited at $51k, but I like the look and color of the TX 350. I guess I would need to test drive both of them.
I actually found way too much wind noise in the TX. Not sure what the issue was. I made sure all the windows were closed. Horrible wind noise at highway speeds. I also found the new lexus interface knobs to be extremely cheap. They should have used solid aluminum etc. After only owning lexus vehicles in last 25 years the quality has gone down to the point where you might as well buy the GH. I will not pay that premium for a noisy 4 banger! Bring back some wood and the nice headliners etc. The dials feel like they will snap off.
Look at my Profile Pic. This is at My Work. I Brought A Lexus TX 350 AWD for My Wife for our 10 Year Anniversary. She ABSOLUTELY! Loves It and Is Very Happy. We Always Get Compliments just about Everywhere we go. The LEXUS TX, Feels Like Nothing But Luxury. My Wife Likes Driving In Sport Mode. She Knows The 500h F Sport has more speed and performance. But she says Her TX 350 AWD has ALL the speed and Power she needs, when she wants to GET ON It!!! DEFINITELY LEXUS TX!!! All day, Every Day over Grand Highlander!!!
We got the GH platinum. Im sure the Lexus is more refined. That’s what makes Lexus special. That being said, the GH Platinum is extremely nice and we love it.
Thanks for the video it certainly helped me to understand the difference between the two. I know that Lexus is a Toyota. Which I will never stray from either. I have the Lexus Gx and my daughter in law told me about the grand highlander. I'm definitely going to test drive them both. Knowing my Gx is bigger. Just time to down size.
GH has the long upper brake light, looks sick at night...better than the LEXUS at night and color matched Grandhighlander looks better than the standard chrome look.
The Lexus in TX550h+ is the only luxury vehicle in either lineup. I would pay the price and get the plug in. That four banger should be in a RAV 4 Prime .
I am conflicted on which car to buy my top priority is Toyota, though which are land cruiser, grand highlander or sequoia. I am also looking at range rovers and maybe lexus
X out range rovers on your list. They’re disposable. They’re ONLY good for leasing. Lexus/Toyota is the way to go. If you need space, reliability and that’s it = Toyota. If you need that AND want the luxury of quiet, more refinement, better styling (subjective) = go with Lexus
Lexus needs to get some more exterior color choices. Currently only 5 colors to choose from. I also don't like the interior styling as much on the Lexus compared to the GH. However, I imagine the TX rides better and is more comfortable. I don't like black or grey interiors as well, so it would be GH Portobello vs TX Peppercorn. Once the stop sale is over, I'd love to give a TX Luxury and GH HybridMax Platinum a test drive.
I think the TX looks better that said I'm sure both has stop production for a bit as a major safety recall has now been announced by toyota voluntarily. Good on toyota for doing that. However, the quality has been slipping rapidly as they try to add too much new tech and making these sily turbo charging smaller engines to compete with all the competitors out there.

Pick your winner: Lexus TX or Toyota Grand Highlander? Thanks for watching and Subscribing! Jeff
Toyota!!!
Definitely Lexus TX. Currently, I am driving TX, and I really like the overall performance as well as interior.
@@guyvergignatic6220what do you think about the steer wheel controls? A lot of reviewers dog it vs the old kind.
The TX! Although I do like the passenger side tray and USB-C charge port in the GH!
Toyota regular hybrid if you can get it without a markup. You can't argue with 36 mpg city.
Both are fine vehicles. After test driving them, I chose the TX because it's quieter and feels more refined.
Nice pick.

@@joem1670I’m glad I don’t live in Canada.
If you drive them both, you'll get the TX base over GH Platinum. TX is just more comfortable, refined, and has better quality.
Grand Highlander! Because I have the same one you’re showing. Except with black wheels✅
Got the TX 350 Luxury and I love it! The ride is nice , comfy and so quiet…
What is Out the door price you paid ?

Most Lexus buyers aren't aiming for base trim TX. They'll be buying a much higher trim.
My understanding is regular gas is OK in this car; you just won't get the extra HP. That's fine by me.

Good analysis
Get the Lexus and let the luxury wash over you!

@@joem1670 Circa Lexus LS430 was lexus luxury in its prime
GH had a 8 to 12 month wait period in Hawaii. So went with the Lexus.
This helped me get my car - Thanks Jeff
TX looks like a mini-van at certain angles. The stance of the GH is much better looking.
How you figure? Same body with different nose and tail.

From the C pillar on back, they both look like a sienna
With about as much room as one too
@@AutoJeffReviewsI don’t think you can compare these suvs to a sienna minivan.

They must have changed the TX 350 Premium AWD because as far as I know, it does not come with a heads-up display.
If you choose gh must be hybrid max. If not tx

If the Lexus came with the base hybrid, that's what would be in our driveway, but because it doesn't, the Grand Highlander Limited Hybrid is what does
Toyota is not selling the GH currently. A stop-sale is in effect due to a recall.
Best review ever 🎉
Thanks!!! Really appreciate it
Excellent video!
Thanks!!!!
so those side sensors are advanced park sensors. they allow the car to self park. just fyi

Jeff you starting a new channel?
I like the tx350
Highlander. TX doesn't have much for the price.
Do you ever test drive?? 🤷🏻♂️
Lexus is the best!
Grand highlander good design better than Lexus all the Lexus now designs down
GH looks better
If you put these on a lift the Lexus is all covered up and has tons of sound damping.
It looks like a Toyota not a Lexus 🤣😂
Prop rods should be in cheap cars only.
Embarrassingly cheap looking.
How often do you open the hood?
@@alexmassengale433 Too often to have to look at that cheap out.
TX looks to boring..
